"Asshole of the Decade Award Ceremony"
Washington DC--Tonight, ladies and gentlemen, we're here to honor one of the most prestigious candidates to be awarded the "Asshole of the Decade" in a long time. A man whose accomplishments in this field of rectums that far surpass the others who've preceded him, whose example has set new standards. A candidate who has vigorously defended, under the guise of protecting freedom of speech, some of the most vile and perverted pornographers in that sleazy, but lucrative field. A nominee who has went out of his way to stand up for a murderer of a police officer, to prevent that poor soul, who just happens to be a 'Chosen One,' from being executed. A man who has bragged about being a MOSSAD agent who sets in on discussions to choose which Palestinians shall be extrajudicially executed. A splendid example of our 'Tribe,' who is an enthusiastic fan of torture, like sticking hot needles under a person's fingernails! A candidate who has went out of his way to savagely attack Judge Goldstone for that verboten look into Israeli war crimes.... Oops! Did I mention war crimes and Israel in the same sentence? Someone who wants to be the next president of our kind and peace loving state of Israel. So join the ADL and your host, Abe Foxman in showing your appreciation for all that he has done! Ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, I give you, from the University of Israel's Harvard campus.... Professor Alan Dershowitz!

Re: "Asshole of the Decade Award Ceremony"
GB, good to see you back. Many assholes to choose from, but no real competition for Dershowitz. There's a little on the fishy death of his wife here.
Is this him gushing at the Chabad Love Fest?. I'll link just in case. This is one of my favorite items from the Chabad Guys:
Rabbi Yitzhak Ginsburgh, an influential member of the Habad movement and the head of a yeshiva near Nablus, for instance, opined in an April 26, 1996 Jewish Week article, reproduced in Haaretz that same day: "If every single cell in a Jewish body entails divinity, and is thus part of God, then every strand of DNA is a part of God. Therefore, something is special about Jewish DNA." Rabbi Ginsburgh drew two conclusions from this statement: "If a Jew needs a liver, can he take the liver of an innocent non-Jew to save him? The Torah would probably permit that. Jewish life has an infinite value. There is something more holy and unique about Jewish life than about non-Jewish life." It is noteworthy that Rabbi Ginsburgh is one of the authors of a book lauding Baruch Goldstein, the Patriarchs' Cave murderer. In that book Ginsburgh contributed a chapter in which he wrote that a Jew's killing non-Jews does not constitute murder according to the Jewish religion and that killing of innocent Arabs for reasons of revenge is a Jewish virtue. No influential Israeli rabbi has publicly opposed Ginsburgh's statements; most Israeli politicians have remained silent; some Israeli politicians have openly supported
him. (Israel Shahak, Jewish Fundamentalism in Israel, p. 41)

He was also doing some fixing of the NC-17 rating for movies, specifically regarding the movie "Kids":
Dershowitz, a former O.J. Simpson attorney, discussed representing a production company in the mid-'90s when it challenged NC-17 ratings of the movie "Kids" -- a pseudo-documentary about unprotected sex among teenagers. But he couldn't convince the internal appeals board of the Motion Picture Association of America that "Kids" sent a "powerful message about the dangers of promiscuity."
"If I had had teenage daughters or sons, I would have wanted to be able to take them to see the film," the civil-liberties expert wrote.
Ironically, Dershowitz initially had encouraged the creation of an NC-17 rating, because he thought theaters "would treat it more like an R than an X rating." The X rating had become a symbol of skin flicks, while rated-R movies didn't permit more artistic depictions of sex, he explained.
Since the NC-17 rating was added about a decade ago, though, most movie studios have avoided it because it lowers profits by limiting viewers and mainstream acceptance usually. Children under 17 can't see a show, even with a parent's approval.

Lowering the ratings simply means: more customers = more money for Hollyweird - and we know who runs that.
