A couple face never seeing their four obese children again after failing to bring their weight under control.
In the first case of its kind, the children’s parents have been told by social workers that there is a strong possibility they will lose them for good.
Their three daughters, aged 11, seven and one, and five-year-old son, will either be fostered without contact or adopted.
The couple, who have been married for nearly 20 years, were given the ultimatum three years ago.
The family spent two years living in a council-funded house where they were constantly supervised and the food they ate monitored.

Re: Parents face losing their ‘fat’ children for failing to ...
This crap is absurd.
The best explanation I have found for weight issues is leptin. Leptin is at fault in weight gain issues AND in people who cannot seem to gain weight. Getting leptin under control will solve both problems, if only leptin and nothing else (prescription drugs, etc) is a contributing factor.
Mastering Leptin is a must read on this, also the 5 rules about leptin on you tube
Basically, keep the carbs low, have a meal 3x a day - 5-6 hours between meals, 11-12 hours between dinner and b'fast. No snacking at all in between. No large meals.
Getting a genetic profile re food and exercise is very helpful. This one will tell whether a person is better suited to a low or higher carb diet as some people cannot digest carbs well. It will also tell if you are better off with low intensity or high intensity exercise.
People who are in poverty or fall into poverty usually cope with it by stocking up on the cheap carbs, like bread, rice, etc. and go lower on the more expensive proteins. Some people can't handle that.
