Message to friends at this site

Hello everyone!

As you are about to find out..., I am technically not too clever when it comes to the internet:( I just noticed that some of you had left me a comment on some of my posts... and I do apologize for not having responded..., but I only just noticed them today as I was looking for some old info. I tried to find a way to respond... but miserably failed:( Can anybody help me on that? Is there a way of responding directly to a comment?

Since I am in the "questioning-mode", may I also ask if it is possible to post pictures on this site? When I copy and paste a picture into the "Body", it disappears. Am I doing something wrong or is it simply not possible to post a picture or pictures? I would have loved to show you the pictures of the state of the Israeli army during the last Israel/Lebanon war as it wasn't at all covered by Western media... and when it was covered, the US was told of Israeli "victories"... while we here in the Middle East were watching a totally different picture:)

I would appreciate any help and any tips! Thanks everyone and all the best!
Cherifa

You need to treat a picture as an HTML image and use the command

<img src= "?">

where the ? is the web address of the image

For example:

<img src= "http://static.flickr.com/119/305386566_259445bbca_m.jpg">

where the address is for the picture of Uncle Sam on wufys

gives you

Hope that helps.

P.S.
Someone's going to wonder how you managed to put the HTML commands inside brackets with no spaces and actually have them show up, instead of executing.

Making an HTML command *appear* instead of being acted upon by the browser, there's one more trick. Instead of typing < type the ampersand(&) pound(#) and 60. To make > appear, type ampersand pound 62 (no spaces anywhere). In between, you put the HTML tag you want to appear on the screen.

Another way to do the same thing is &lt; for < and &gt; for > because it's easy to remember "less than" and "greater than".

Thank you so much for your explanations! Now... I need to study their meaning...lol. Needless to tell you that HTML is Chinese for me... but since I want to be able to post pictures, so I will really make an effort to learn!
Thanks again so much!

What if the pictures are not from a site? Most of the pictures I have are captured from Arab satellite television news coverage and they are now in my picture library.

What also if an internet page has more than one picture..., but only one web address per page?

In order to use the img src= command, the image has to have a web address.

It might be possible for WUFYS to activate image, video, and audio storage, but that uses bandwidth and band width isn't free.

Otherwise there are excellent free image hosting services. I use
http://imageshack.us/

One thing to consider if your pictures are unique, valuable, and proprietary is that free hosted images become public domain. You could put a copyright notice on the image with a graphics editor, but that means defending the copyright in a mean, nasty world full of image poachers (of which I am one of the worst offenders!)

On your other question, you need to use the mouse right click as you pass over the image in question and use the properties option to see the image address. From there it's cut and paste.

My references all refer to Mozilla, I don't use MS products at all if possible.

Since you are learning HTML,
here is the HTML command reference I use when I have a question.

If you can translate Arabic, HTML will be a peice of cake.

Again... thank you so much! I had a first glimpse at the HTML site you gave me... and Arabic seems sooooooo easy to translate:) I guess that I'm going to have to do some studying again!
Thanks,
