After my first visit to the Daily Kos I never bothered returning there it seemed a little too tame and controlled to be worth bothering with.

I am not sure that the Daily Kos and D.U. are merely reacting to pressure from the reactionary 'Little Green Fools' crowd and their ilk. It seems to me that both sites have always been part of a controlled opposition - left gatekeepers to use common parlance.

We can sympathize with those who are banned by phony "progressive" web sites like DailyKos and DU. It appears that the same vested interests that call the shots at FreeRepublic and LittleGreenFootballs also do the same with DailyKos and DU. It can assuredly be said that WMR controls its own content and, although we have received demands that certain information be removed, we have often responded to such requests with a hearty "drop dead," whether the requests come from Saudi billionaire sheiks, U.S. defense contractors who torture prisoners, or Israeli right-wing expansionists.

From a supposedly Muslim website for citing a racist URL apparently...no discussion or explanation, 'no warning'. Just banned and silenced for a period.

The Zionists on the board just hurl insults, never discuss the points of contention and as always whine about antisemitism.

Travelling like I do in libertarian circles, I am all too familiar with the Antiwar.com crowd and those of like mind. At least one of Antiwar's editors, Matthew Barganier, is a little brownshirt in disguise. My fellow libertarian hawk Max Borders had an unfortunate run-in with him just recently and has now stopped blogging as a result.
The short version of the story: Max works for the Institute for Humane Studies, and ran his own personal blog on the side. Barganier took one contraversial sentence in Max's personal blog from the middle of a lengthy inter-blog debate about rights and war, posted it up on the AntiWar.com blog completely out of context, then posted a link to the contacts page of his employer and encouraged all his readers to "tell them what you think". Basically he was trying to get him fired. Needless to say this is very dirty pool and revealed more about Barganier than Max.

recently information referencing the holocaust was banned by matthew barganier of antiwar.com (holocaust stats footnote was cited in the info that displeased him- but not endorsed or supported by provider's writer, just referenced) It turns out barganier has a history of the type of techniques used against the aljazeera.info site- barganier allegedly encouraged readers to contact another blogger's employer to get him fired because he didnt like that blogger's postings-even providing the employer's contact info... meanwhile- where is the full disclosure on antiwar's site of CATO institute sponsorship of antiwar.com (and CATO's support for privatisation of social security, rampant free trade and the fact that its top columnist- doug bandow was employed by CATO (before being hired by antiwar.com) after being fired for taking tens of thousands of dollars from Jack Abramoff to write biased news 'articles' pumping Abramoff corporation's agendas---fascist tendencies come in all stripes on the spectrum...
