Israel scrambled fighter jets to escort an American commercial passenger plane to landing on Wednesday, Israeli officials said.
An Airports Authority spokeswoman said Continental Airlines' Flight 90 was intercepted after it failed to identify itself upon entering Israeli airspace.
The plane, a Boeing 777, was on a scheduled flight from Newark, New Jersey in the United States. All passengers and crew disembarked safely, Israeli officials said.
The Transportation Ministry said it was investigating whether there was a technical reason for the initial lack of communication between the plane and Israeli ground control.
The most obvious question is - if israel can scramble fighter jets within minutes for a commercial airliner that was scheduled to arrive when and where it did - WHY COULDN'T WE DO IT ON 9/11 for FOUR airliners that were KNOWN to be hijacked and flying in the wrong direction???
We need to keep hammering this issue until we drive the point home - 9/11 WAS AN INSIDE JOB!

Israeli media reported late yesterday that the Israel Air Force planes were close to opening fire on the airliner when it restored contact. The pilot was interrogated after landing.* * * In 1973, Israel Air Force planes shot down a Libyan passenger plane that strayed over Israeli-controlled territory, killing more than 100 passengers and crew and triggering wide international criticism.

These people are INSANE! All in the name of SELF-DEFENSE.
"This was the closest we ever came to intercepting a civilian airplane," a military officer tells the Jerusalem Post.
The paper says Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and his top generals were put on alert in case they had to authorize the military pilots to shoot down the Continental Airlines flight, carrying 273 people, as it approached Israeli airspace.
The fighter jets conducted a visual inspection when the plane was within five minutes of Tel Aviv.
"From the moment that we lost contact with (the jet) we treated the incident as a possible terror act. When the fighter jets approached the plane, they guided it west. It contacted us and that's how we were sure it was not a terror attempt," a source tells Ynet News.
Yet, on 9/11 when we KNEW that a terrorist attack was underway, our airforce stood down.

That's one potential false flag attack opportunity just circled the drain.
If israel had been caught blowing that plane out of the air,

If Israel had shot down that American passenger jet, members of the US Congress would have been falling all over one another, grieving for Israel's antiquated air defense system.
Then, they would have passed a massive funding bill giving Israel a couple hundred million dollars to deal with the "problem.'
And Dick "IGOR" Cheney would have stated that the jet had links to Bin Laden.
How sweet and touching... Israel "saves" the Americans:) This is true American/Israeli partnership! Maybe however another American airliner... full of innocent unsuspecting Americans... won't be so lucky while attempting to land in Lebanon for example... where Israelis can easily down the aircraft of their 'beloved' American friends and blame Hezbolloh, Syria and of course Iran:) Even false flags need good preparation... and it might not be an American airplane...
If Israeli military proceeded to shoot down an airplane carrying American civilians, then State of Israel will lose its credibility and condemned around the world.
But like USS Liberty, US government officials will look the other way and blame the error on communication or even pilot of the downed airplane. USA will still stand with Israel in positive relations.
Had any country other than Israel committed the grave error, USA may declare war or end relationship, economic & diplomatic wise.

US government sold itself to Israel through the hijacking of the foreign policy and continuous fraud costing American taxpayers the billions year after year.
You are right, qrswave. 9-11 is an inside job. 9/11 Mysteries part one is compelling in laying out the facts.
However, I am not certain about the true identity of hijackers or how the planes are maneuvered in sharp turns to impact the targets except one (United flight 93, shot down by military jet as admitted by Donald Rumsfeld).
It truly is the crime of the early 21st century, just like JFK assassination is a crime of the 20th century that changed the course of mankind's destiny through the immediate reversal of JFK's policies in favor of stronger relations with Israel & escalate the conflict in Vietnam by physical intervention.
When the new global war arrives, it is traced back to the JFK/RFK assassination that allow the Elite (the invisible shadow government) to control aspects of the government policy behind the curtain to produce wars, sabotages, etc for geostrategic power and ill-gotten profit.
That is my belief.

If they had shot the plane they would claim that it was a real threat. After the crash the news media would immediately announce that Israel had been attacked. The passenger list would be withheld and a muslim victim found and labeled as the suicide hijacker.
Later Hollywood and Times et all would build a solid story around this unfortunate person(s).
Yes and of course the Israelis would take 1000% financial benefit from this event and milk US tax payers for years.
