In the article you stated:
"We're not ranking Mike Gravel... This guy's not just a third-tier longshot, he might be a little, um, off. Seriously, he was downright rude [?!?!]. Why should anyone agree to appear on stage with him? And why should any mainstream Democratic group invite him?"
This confirms my belief that the mainstream media serves as the gatekeeper so the more prominent candidates will receive further exposure while shunning the other candidates by denying the readers their choice to vote due to prejudice.
You -- the organization and the corporation that owns it, GE -- have discredited yourself with the weak reason that is flat-out absurd upon examinination at face value.
It goes to show that the mainstream media does the public a great disservice through disinformation and propaganda to force the public to make the narrow set of choices according to the media's dictation regardless of the candidates' merit, appeal and flaws.
We the American people like to be informed, not to be led by hand because the media reporters, editors, directors and others involved are determined by their deep bias to spread the disinformation in hope of gaining an advantage to their side, however ignorant and prejudicial about the true roots of politics and the defense of the Constitution.
You have disgraced yourselves.
Further research indicates GE is a defense contractor[1]. Therein lies the conflict of interest which lend credence that there is deep bias as a matter of policy to serve the masters.
This does not benefit the public, not at all. It's self-serving, pure and simple.
They might as well have McCain/Romney or Clinton/Obama to kiss their feet to receive full coverage.
The mainstream media is an instrument of disinformation agenda that have the potential to corrupt the republic to ruins because of vainglorious desire to appease the ruling class that have the power to decide who will be allowed significant media spotlight and who will be banished to obscurity regardless of that candidate's honesty and true patriotism in preserving the Constitutional republic by the people for the people.
Establishing the cable news and local public access channels that report nothing but the truth (vetted thoroughly) in domestic and international affairs will rectify the error of biased & judgmental aspect and attitude as promulgated by the operators of the media faction. Banishment of crossfire arguments, celebrities and other moronically irrelevant garbage are in order.
American news in newsmagazines, newspapers and television are usually garbage if it involves politics of all spectrums that affect not only government and election campaign but also agriculture, education, financial, et cetera.
The mainstream media's bias is evident with omission of facts and twisted words and statements to generate sound bites for the enraptured audience like it's snack for the canines to sit and grab the bite upon the flick of a treat.
It would be great if the mainstream media suffer the hits in the declining circulation and ratings because some Americans become sick of the nauseating wave of propaganda and turn to the Internet and books to open themselves to the truth of the reality. This the media have consistently failed to report with accuracy or even intentionally cover up while steadfastly perpetrating deceit until the meaning of truth don't signify anything but the conglomerate's maxim of how the world is represented to Americans as though the overwhelming majority of Americans are either stupid or suffer from silent apathy.
