Good riddance, Jerry Falwell. Farewell, you won't be missed.

Falwell is one of these nasty regressive types the Founding Fathers warned against when they convened the final draft of the Constitution that the separation of church and state is mandatory as well as express prohibition of "religious test" to screen employees and elective candidates. They derive knowledge of misallocated religious influence from experience and history that powerful elements of religion intertwined with government lead to tyranny which undermine liberty and promote unhappiness in dispiritedness and antagonism.

This they strive to prevent by drafting the set of logical provisions in the Constitution based on the principles of Enlightenment from the writings of John Locke and Thomas Paine.

Falwell, as the founding chairman of now-defunct Moral Majority with millions as members, was also one of Judeo-Christian fundamentalists instrumental in the initial election of Ronald Reagan which set America back with rampant corruption, ineptitude and destructive pattern of taxpayer money waste & greed (Savings & Loan scandal, for instance [1])

If you are a young adult, you may not remember the 80's. I spent my childhood as a carefree boy as are all of the children oblivious to the current politics (which children should have natural predisposition of aversion except the conscious few), even on television news and special events with Ron Reagan addresses. We remember the Challenger disaster as one of the defining events of that decade.

But by reading Hunter S Thompson's superbly entertaining book "Generation of Swine: Tales of Shame and Degradation in the '80s" I realize the present time in Bush/Cheney America isn't that much different from the 80's decade where it have inspired elated hope for some pledging their allegiance to Reagan/Bush (especially after the failed 1981 assassination attempt by a deranged man) while encouraging cynicism and apathy in general.

I would not wish death on Jerry Falwell and other slimy likes of religious fundamentalists that impose high morals while leading the double life of corruption, bribery, avarice and unadulterated hypocrisy. The longer they live, the more they will be remembered for their prevailing attitude of idiocy and bigotry which substantiate the ingrained truth of Enlightenment philosophy.

Mr. Falwell had way too much time on his hands smearing the people of Democratic party with conspiracy theories (however I dislike Bill Clinton except his administration did a splendid job managing the economy on a healthy level) and complaining about the trivial matters such as sublime homosexuality on Teletubbies children tv show.

And who could forget the idiotic exchange between Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson in insinuating that America deserve attack on 9-11 because they claim the deity pulled the curtain as a rebuke?

At least Jerry Falwell is no longer with us breathing the same air. He may be an agent of intolerance (John McCain claims otherwise), but he's the same old bigot whose narrow-mindedness is a principal reason America have regressed backwards due to mad religious fervor and dogma believing that State of Israel should receive unconditional support by the Americans in order to bring about the Armageddon to fulfill their megalomaniacal belief to receive salvation after establishing -- to borrow Mark Twain's phrase -- the process of grotesque self-deception.

Falwell may be gone, but there are even insaner religious fundamentalists in America -- Pat Robertson, James Hagee, Peter Popoff and numerous Evangelists that not only advocate dominant religious authority in the US government but also goad their brainwashed members' to lay their lives on the line for the State of Israel to voice the unconditional support of expanding Zionist influence (even if these members plead ignorance to the real nature of political Zionism).

They may have exerted substantial influence on George W Bush on domestic and foreign policy while maintaining sustained bias, i.e. utter hypocrisy of their position on pro-life (against abortion) while advocating wars (killing & maiming women and children in foreign countries).

It was late University of Chicago professor of philosophy Leo Strauss [1] who saw that keeping the masses ignorant through religious propaganda (exception made to informed citizens with religious conviction who maintain steady vigilance on politics and government for the preservation of progressive liberty) help promote the insidious elements that will overtake the sectors of the government and military establishments, thereby proving Niccolo Machiavelli's dissertation revelation.

While Falwell may be deceased, his Christian Zionist spirit will always live on in other fellow name-recognized fundamentalists who wants to drag America towards the unknown to the grave detriment of civilized humankind. We must combat this dangerously misanthropic and highly treasonous adversary to liberty and progressive global relations before destruction become a reality.

"We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

~ John Adams

"In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own. It is easier to acquire wealth and power by this combination than by deserving them, and to effect this, they have perverted the purest religion ever preached to man into mystery and jargon, unintelligible to all mankind, and therefore the safer engine for their purposes."

~ Thomas Jefferson, letter to Horatio G Spafford
