The checkpoint generation By Amira Hass

For nearly a month now, a young Palestinian has been hospitalized at Beilinson Hospital; soldiers shot him at a checkpoint in northern Nablus on Saturday, November 4. Haitem Yassin, 25, is conscious now, but he is still hooked up to a respirator.

In recent days, he has been suffering from a high fever, apparently caused by an infection in his abdomen, which was wounded in the shooting. His family is still waiting for a report from the hospital about the number or type of bullets that caused the serious injury.

At the Samaria Brigade, they are still investigating what happened that day at the fortified and isolated Asira al-Shmaliya checkpoint, through which only the inhabitants of several villages are permitted passage.

However, according to testimonies taken by a researcher for B'Tselem - The Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories, it emerges that Yassin had irritated the soldiers.

He dared to suggest to them that their demand of women to feel their own bodies to carry out a "security check" was inappropriate.

So annoying was he that a soldier shoved him. Yassin, who had returned from overseas a few months earlier, had apparently not yet internalized the fact that it is dangerous to remind a soldier that a Palestinian is a human being. When the soldier shoved, Yassin shoved back.

The soldier, according to the testimonies, started to scream and curse and hit. He quickly received reinforcement from two other soldiers, who fired into the air and at the ground.

Even though Yassin fell to the ground after the shooting, the soldiers, relate the witnesses, threw him onto a concrete block, handcuffed him and kicked him.

They also kicked him in the head, according to the testimonies, and beat him with their rifles."

I don't know about you, but I'm thoroughly disgusted with the Zionists. This sort of thing happens EVERY day.

When are we going to stop this? How long are we going to let these perverts and sadists maim and kill?

the arab leaders are supposed to stand up and fight against this injustice.

we on the other hand, can only educate and continue spreading the truth.

produced or imported by corporations that openly support israel's murderous policies.

And we can stop working our asses off for overlords to buy the useless things they sell us - giving us more time to do things that are IMPORTANT TO US.

It would be nice if the Arab dictators helped, but that ain't gonna happen. They may piss and moan but the Big Banker(guess who?) has got them by the ?????.

Beyond education is in your face activism. There are dozens of types of activities going on right now on behalf of the Palestinians.

Banks are closing the door on doing biz with the Zionists. Businesse are refusing to sell to them. These results were brought about by more than education.

Good points, qrswave.

From their point of view of the overlords, I'm a lucky ducky.

In other words, I'm one lazy mofo who's keeping them from satisfying their desire to crush me.

The "arguments" here promp-t me to remind you that the Primary purpose of Judaism, Christianity and Islam is to reveal the Lord God of Abraham. Either the members of all three religions will recognize the God they mutually worship, or we'll have the "gross darkness" foretold by the Hebrew Prophets. They warned us that we must "turn our hearts to each other," or endure the "darkness."

To "turn our hearts to each other" we must acknowledge:
The Hebrew Prophets revealed the One and Only Lord God to His "images."
The Christian Prophet (as Jesus identified himself in the Christian Scriptures) and his Apostles, revealed the promised Messiah.
Islam's Prophet corrected the Jews, who didn't recognize the Messiah, and he reprimanded the Christians for speaking of "three." Muhammaad said: "The Messiah Jesus does not disdain to be a servant of God."
We can learn about God from all three religions in the light of day, or learn about Him and the promised Messiah while suffering in the darkness of a nuclear winter. May we be wise.

Ya lost me, really.

Are you equating the quasi-religion, political philosophy of Zionism with Judaism?

If so, it's a phony connection.

I was talking about Zionist killers in the article above.

So, make my day. Enlighten me, oh, wise one.

WTF are you talking about?

I have been the target of harassment by an ex-IDF American who does not like the observations I've made on Israel at the LA Jewish Journal Forum. The mere act of bringing up Israel's influence on US policy brings forth a torrent of accusations of being a rabid Jew hater. At the same tie he denies any misuse of power by the tribe, he threatens to have his network of Zionist contacts make my life miserable including having me fired.

The most laughable one was the claim that Daily News reporters were ready to ambush me on my racist views (still waiting - I'd love to have a forum). He has also sounded the call for others to come to my work and make an example of me though he declines to come dowm himself.

When I asked the other JJ Forum members if they felt that using the tactics of the brownshirts was both reprehensible as well as ironic, they either remained silent or suggested I deserved it. This is from a guy who went apoplectic on the issue of dual loyalty but an American citizen in his own country is to be hounded if he dares to question the desirability of the US following a Zionist agenda. What a bleeding hypocrite!

The threat stuff is typical of Zionists, proving the point that they're bullies.

Did you hear the UN is sending a Holocaust-denying, anti-Semitic neo-Nazi to investigate Beit Hanoun massacre?

IDF soldier gets two weeks in military prison for shooting Palestinian An Israel Defense Forces soldier, who shot and seriously injured a Palestinian at a roadblock, was sentenced to 14 days in a military prison. Military Police will investigate further.

The soldier shot Haytem Yasin, 25, on November 4, at the roadblock of Asira al-Shemaliya. Yasin is being treated at Beilinson hospital in Petah Tikva, where he is in serious condition as a result of major abdominal injuries.

According to testimonies collected by the human rights group B'Tselem, Yasin was shot after he told the soldiers that they should not ask women to run their hands over their bodies as a means of searching for concealed arms.

I'm surprised he got even that much time. After all, Palestinians are fair game to Zionists.

He was probably punished for talking back to his senior.

Thanks, Susan, for the tip.
