Shekel Wise, Dollar Foolish

Looks like someone made a killing trading dollars for shekels.

The average new Israeli shekel-U.S. dollar rate in May was ILS4.001, reflecting a 1.68% appreciation on the month, the Bank of Israel said Sunday.

In April, the average rate was ILS4.0692.

The shekel has appreciated 4.78% against the dollar since the beginning of 2007, and 10.57% in the last 12 months, the bank said.

In May, ILS-USD trading by non-Israeli financial institutions totaled $62.7 billion, compared with $48.5 billion in April, the bank said. Shekel-dollar trading by Israeli banks totaled $11.8 billion in May, compared with $8.8 billion in April, the bank said.

The shekel's worth more, and the dollar's worth-less.

They're just up to their usual scams, changing less for more, you know, all the way to advanced usury techniques.. All for the love of money, that filthy paper. Their private federal reserve cheque notes should be signed 'Lucifer'.
