Iran warns US: your Mideast bases in our range

10/06/2007 Iran has warned that US military bases in the Middle East are within the range of its missiles, amid increasing tensions with Washington over the Iranian nuclear program, media reported Sunday.
"All the American bases in the region are within the reach of our weapons," said Mohammad Baqer Zolghadr, the deputy interior minister in charge of security issues.
"If the United States attacked Iran, US interests would be in danger everywhere in the world," added Zolghadr, a former deputy chief of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards.
Iran has an array of medium range missiles and says that its longer-range Shahab-3 missile has a reach of 2,000 kilometers (1,200 miles) which would put US bases on the Arabian Peninsula within reach.
Meanwhile, Israeli air force held a joint drill with visiting US pilots on Sunday, stirring interest in a region bracing for a possible armed showdown over Iran's nuclear program.
An Israeli military spokeswoman claimed that the exercise was "part of a multi-year working plan involving joint flights for the purpose of mutual learning" and would be held annually.
Reports on the exercise were carried in Arab media, fueled by speculation that Israel or the United States could bomb Iran should UN Security Council sanctions fail to curb its nuclear program.
Iran has responded by warning that it would hit back hard against any attack on its territory and said its armed forces are prepared for anything.
An Israeli military source said the joint air force drill was "unconnected to the current situation in the country".
'Israel', the sole in the Middle East to have nuclear arsenal, sent planes to attack Iraq's main reactor in 1981.
Washington has always claimed that it wants to resolve the nuclear crisis through diplomacy but has never ruled out using military action to bring Tehran to heel.
The United States accuses Iran of seeking nuclear weapons and is pushing for a third set of UN sanctions to punish the Islamic republic for refusing to halt sensitive atomic activities.
Iran insists its nuclear drive is entirely peaceful and just wants to generate energy for a growing population and affirms that it is its right under the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty.

US/UN has approved of preemptive strikes on sovereign countries so why not use that new international law and attack Zionists and give them some of its own poison back. The funny thing is that the whole world would cry "Islamofascists" we told you they planned to attack us lets nuke them now. So whichever way it goes Muslims will be portrayed as aggressors so I say to hell with the world's(Zionist media) opinion about Muslims because they will never accept us anyway. I am afraid that that same world will watch yet another massacre of Iranian soldiers and civilians and just say this is disaster and go on bout their usual business. Crimes of Zion are well documented but we don't and will never see UN or Hague call upon Zionist and US war criminals to answer for their crimes. How could they when they invented and completely control those entities.
