Here we go, with another dose of "Liberty", and justice for all - rather like that so-called "Freedom" they all hate us for,
it seems like we just can't finally get enough of it.
That the critical eye of BBC has been so hopelessly riddled with jaundice for so long, must explain how the venerable old Beeb is so eminently capable, on occasion, of casting such a critically jaundiced eye at the questionable intentions of one of its oldest partners in crime, these New Knighted States of Isramerica.
The Brits have always gone in for this sort of pseudo- friendly Sherlock-Watson rivalry, always hazarding a second guess.
I only assert that eminently dubious proposition as a possible explanation, but certainly not an apology, for this article:
Why did Israel attack USS Liberty?

For former US seaman Gary Brummett, the 40th anniversary of the 1967 Middle East war has stirred painful memories.
As a 21-year-old third class petty officer, Mr Brummett was serving on board the USS Liberty off the coast of Egypt on
8 June, when, without warning, the vessel came under fire,
first from fighter planes, then from torpedo boats.
The attack, which lasted at least 40 minutes, resulted in the deaths of 34 of Mr Brummett's fellow crewmen, at least 170 injured and catastrophic damage to the ship.
Alarmingly, the assault had been carried out not by enemy forces, but by the US' closest regional ally, Israel.
Israel insists it mistook the Liberty for a hostile Egyptian ship, the El Quseir, and numerous US and Israeli inquiries have concluded the attack was accidental.
But for Mr Brummett and a growing body of conspiracy theorists - the authorities are guilty of a cover-up.
"I have more trouble with it today than when it happened -
because I know more of the facts about what was going on,"
said Mr Brummett.
"There's been an egregious wrong done here, there's been an extreme number of lies told to the American people and the American people do not know the truth about what happened."
'Sitting duck'
The attack on the Liberty - the gravest incident in the history
of US - Israeli relations - has been an endless source of
bitter controversy for the past four decades.
Claim and counter-claim as to what happened have been fought out in every corner of the media, with the advent of the internet helping to reinvigorate the debate.

Israel's supporters say the incident is merely being used as a tool by critics to malign the Jewish state, while accusers say
the attack was a war crime which has never come to light.
According to Israel, the incident was simply a tragic case
of friendly fire occurring in the fog of war.
Israel says it believed the ship had been bombarding Israeli forces fighting in the Sinai, and that its pilots did not see any
US flags ( survivors say there were actually three ) on the vessel
before they actually opened fire.
Sceptics however claim the attack was premeditated and that the truth has been suppressed. The assertion of a cover-up was lent weight by a 2003 independent commission of inquiry which had reported that the attack on the Liberty remains the only serious naval incident never thoroughly investigated by Congress.
Among the most popular theories as to why Israel would take such drastic action against its superpower ally is that the Liberty, a $40m state-of-the-art surveillance ship, was eavesdropping on an Israeli massacre of Egyptian prisoners of war.
Israel strongly denies its troops executed Egyptian POWs, saying that all those who died in an incident at that time were
250 armed Palestinian fighters killed in action.
Another is that Liberty learned of secret Israeli plans to invade Syria's Golan Heights two days later and had to be destroyed.
U.S."collusion theory"
Perhaps the most sinister motive is that put forward by
Peter Hounam in his 2003 book "Operation Cyanide".

Mr Hounam claims secret elements within the US and Israeli governments colluded to bomb the ship and blame the attack on Egypt and their superpower ally, the USSR, triggering massive retaliation and ensuring Israeli victory.
"The attack on the Liberty was pre-planned, perhaps from at least a year beforehand," Mr Hounam says.
"The Liberty was sent into a very dangerous situation, where it was placed in a position to be attacked."
Mr Hounam says the intention was to sink the ship and
kill everyone on board, but as the Liberty remained afloat
the plan was aborted and has been hushed up ever since.
'Presidential order'
Successive US and Israeli inquiries, and the declassification
of thousands of documents, have done little to dampen suspicion.
One of the most powerful claims of a cover-up has come from retired US Navy lawyer Capt Ward Boston, counsel to the Navy Court of Inquiry into the incident conducted days after the event.
Survivors want a Congressional investigation into the attack
Capt Boston says the court's original findings, which he signed, were changed afterwards by government lawyers.
He also claims the president of the court, Rear Adm. Isaac Kidd, told him he was ordered by President Lyndon Johnson and Defense Secretary Robert McNamara to conclude the attack
was only a case of mistaken identity.
However, Capt Boston's version of events - and the notion that what happened was anything more than a tragic accident -
are disputed by numerous academics and authors who have investigated the incident.
"It was a series of blunders by both the United States and Israel that resulted in a terrible tragedy and nothing more," says
Jay Cristol, a federal judge and author of 'The Liberty Incident'.
"Unfortunately there are a number of people who are on the other side of the Arab-Israeli conflict who think this is a way to attack the otherwise very strong relationship between the US and Israel, and they want to keep stirring the pot."
'No evidence'
This is the view of a historian, Michael Oren, a senior fellow at Shalem Center, a Jerusalem academic research institute.
"Many documents related to the Liberty have been declassified and in none of these documents will you find even a scintilla of evidence to suggest any of these conspiracy theories are true."

"The Golan theory is easiest to disprove, because of where the Liberty was, not off the coast of Israel, but Egypt. Its listening devices weren't powerful enough to listen in on Tel Aviv."

Oren says he has no motive to cover up the truth. “"If I could prove the Liberty was attacked in a premeditated fashion, I would write it - it would be a great historical scoop.”
The only “scoop” would be the admission of the truth by a Zionist pig. Of course, Oren would then be fired and perhaps liquidated.
My how the pigs watch for any sign of awakening among in the Goyim. For example, there are the “library wars” in connection with the USS Liberty.

James M. Ennes, Jr. was a lieutenant on the USS Liberty during the attack. He wrote a book titled Assault on the Liberty that is rarely found in public libraries, since the Zionists always have it removed.

The University of Wisconsin Library in Milwaukee is a public institution, supported by public tax dollars.
In 1979, Israeli spokesmen changed the library’s name to the Golda Meir Library. Meir was born Goldie Mabovitch in Poland in 1898, but lived in Milwaukee between her 8th and 21st year. When she became prime minister in 1969, Time magazine fawned over her, saying, "The essence of the woman is conviction, without compromise, and expressed with all the subtlety of a Centurion tank. She seldom loses an argument...." Meir said there was no “Palestinian problem,” because "It was not as though there was a Palestinian people and we came and threw them out and took their country away from them. They did not exist."
University students picketed in protest. They disrupted a Regents’ meeting held to formalize the name. At one point a Jewish professor attacked the protesters, beating them with a cane. Naturally the professor was not charged with assault, and the name-change went through, since any opposition to Zionist atrocities is “anti-Semitic.”
Eighteen miles due north of the Milwaukee campus is the town of Grafton, population 8,500, which decided to replace its aging and overcrowded town library. Jim Grant was elected president of the town council on his pledge to work toward creating the new library.
Unlike the Golda Meir library, the Grafton library was to be built almost entirely with private donations. Soon the committee for the new library had pledges for well over half the $1-million cost, including an $83,000 federal contribution and a $250,000 pledge from Ted and Ben Grob, two brothers that owned a machine tool business in the town of Grafton.
Since the Grob brothers provided most of the construction money, the Grafton town council let them choose a name for the new library. The Grob brothers chose "The USS Liberty Memorial Library." Jews screamed, but the Grob brothers circulated books about the USS Liberty, and the town council gave their unanimous approval to the new name.
Initial help for the Zionists came via angry letter from one Gideon Goldenholz, rabbi of the Beth El Ner Tamid Synagogue in nearby Mequon, Wisconsin. Goldenholz said the name was “anti-Semitic.”
James Fromstein of the Milwaukee Jewish Council (an umbrella group that represents Goldenholz's synagogue, plus 21 other Milwaukee Zionist organizations) also said it was “anti-Semitic.”
Then Fromstein appeared at door of Jim Grant (town council president) with two television trucks, three newsmen from Milwaukee, and an aide. Fromstein made a huge scene for the cameras.
Then the ADL started checking into the background of Jim Grant, the Town Council president, verifying his military record and looking for dirt. The ADL also dug into the academic record of Librarian Kathy Kafka.
Then Grant learned that the $83,000 federal commitment had been "postponed.”
Phone calls and letters from Israeli spokesmen in Milwaukee urged local donors to withdraw their contributions because of “anti-Semitism.”
Next came a solid barrage of stories about the “anti-Semitic” library in five area newspapers and the Chicago Tribune, plus frequent condemnation on area television news and talk shows. Newspapers carried articles with titles such as, "Jews Battle Extremists On Library Name,” and, “New Library Violently Divides Wisconsin Town.”
The Milwaukee Journal carried an editorial titled, "Library Name Rightly Condemned.” It sparked no mass outcry, so the Journal wrote another editorial that asked, "Where is the outrage in Grafton? Why is there no outcry? The Grafton library has aligned itself with the bigots and hate-mongers.”
(Note that public libraries are often named as memorials for ships, such as the USS Arizona, or the USS Maine. There is only a problem when the USS Liberty comes up.)
USS Liberty survivors Joe Meadors and John Hrankowski visited Grafton with former congressman Pete McCloskey, and were cheered by crowds. The the Milwaukee Journal censored this from their pages.
Then the Zionists went to work on cowardly “Christian” pastors, and got 17 of them, all from outside of Grafton, to condemn the “anti-Semitism.”
Two churches in the nearby town of Mequon circulated petitions in Grafton seeking opposition to the library name. After a week of canvassing, they collected 79 signatures, including only seven from Grafton. By contrast, library supporters collected 616 signatures, all from Grafton in one afternoon.
A pastor in the Grafton Catholic Church issued a statement saying, "The incident is used by extremists to further anti-Semitism. The USS Liberty has become a symbol of hate."
The pastor later confessed that he knew only what he had read in the Milwaukee Journal and been told in a phone call from an out-of-town Rabbi.
Next the Zionists targeted teachers, making quiet threats to make sure the teachers’ contracts were not renewed. Two teachers living outside Grafton circulated questionnaires to their ignorant students asking, "Should Nazis be allowed to name our new library?" Naturally their students chanted, “No, no, no.” Newspapers praised the students' "informed opinions."
Then the Grafton High School Valedictorian publicly articulated the reasons Nazis why and other weirdos should not be allowed to name the library.
Next the Zionists paid a man to drive around Grafton, Wisconsin in a car that had Illinois license plates and a large sign reading, "Support the USS Liberty – Israel is America's enemy." That evening the man went door to door in Grafton, spouting offensive anti-Jewish rhetoric and appealing to Grafton residents to support the name because they shouldn't take any more guff "from the Jews."
An investigation by Grafton citizens revealed that the man was actually opposed to the library, and was a Zionist plant to make library supporters seem like "anti-Semitic radicals." The man had collected any and all comments he could, and forwarded them to the ADL.
