Date: Tue, 12 Dec 2006 21:25:25 +0100

Dear Drymarc2003,

This mail may not be surprising to you if you have been following current events in the international media with reference to the Middle East and Palestine in particular.

I am Mr´s. SUHA ARAFAT, the wife of YASSER ARAFAT, the Palestinian leader who died in Paris.Since his death and even prior to the announcement, I have been thrown into a state of antagonism, confusion, humiliation, frustration and hopelessness by the present leadership of the Palestinian Liberation Organization and the new Prime Minister. I have even been subjected to physical and psychological torture. As a widow that is so traumatized, I have lost confidence with everybody in the country at the moment[...]

You must have heard over the media reports and the Internet on the discovery of some fund in my husband secret bank account and companies and the allegations of some huge sums of money deposited by my husband in my name of which I have refuses to disclose or give up to the corrupt Palestine Government. In fact the total sum allegedly discovered by the Government so far is in the tune of about $6.5 Billion Dollars. And they are not relenting on their effort to make me poor for life. As you know, the Moslem community has no regards for women, hence my desire for a foreign assistance. You can visit the BBC news broadcast below for better understanding of what I am talking about

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/3479937.stm http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/3995769.stm

I have deposited the sum of 20 million dollars with a security firm abroad whose name is withheld for now until we open communication. I shall be grateful if you could receive this fund into your bank account for safe keeping and any Investment opportunity. This arrangement is known to you and my personal Attorney. He might be dealing with you directly for security reasons as the case may be.

In view of the above, if you are willing to assist for our mutual benefits, we will have to negotiate on your Percentage share of the $20,000,000 that will be kept in your position for a while and invested in your name for my trust pending when my Daughter, Zahwa, will come off age and take full responsibility of her Family Estate/inheritance.

Please note that this is a golden opportunity that comes once in life time.

In case you don't accept please do not let me out to the security and international media as I am giving you this information in total trust and confidence I will greatly appreciate if you accept my proposal in good faith. You are to contact me on this email address suha200suha@yahoo.fr and send me your full names and your contact telephone numbers, cell number for my attorney to contact your for us to proceed immediately. Please expedite action is needed.

Yours sincerely

Mrs Suha Arafat

Note the "from" address of the sender is different from the one in the body. This missive is probably from that joker in Haifa who's recently visited my website trying to stir up mischief. Thanks for the laugh.

Thanks to qrswave for the headline.

The letter contains allegations. I do not endorse the letter as factual.

To the above poster...are there jews in your closet with fistfulls of cash waiting to lynch you? What does this have to do with jew-scams at all? This sounds ridiculously akin to the Nigeria scam years ago...were they Jews too? hahaha, moron.

is not the point.

this is obviously written by someone who would like to smear (poke fun at, or ridicule) the current Palestinian Authorities.

The Nigeria scam was just as poorly carried out, and people still fell for it. Does this then allow us to infer that the Nigeria scam was belittling Africans? Putting down blacks? De-humanizing the Aid's crisis there? Hardly.

"Does this then allow us to infer that the Nigeria scam was belittling Africans? Putting down blacks? De-humanizing the Aid's crisis there?"

------------

Just because it served another, different purpose, doesn't mean that the subject matter wasn't chosen to demean the people whom it allegedly involved.

Then why not send an intelligent document? Do you think that my perceptions and entire worldview will be shaped by a ridiculous attempt at international fraud? That their bad spelling will convince me that this person is "down-to-earth" and that I should trust his inherent wisdom?

Doubtful to say the least, and if they do believe it, or are changed significantly by it, it shouldn't matter; The reason being that tommarow they will believe something else!

but, let me ask you this - who do you think sent this letter and what do you think they were trying to establish?

qrswave | Sat, 2006-12-09 11:09

Someone said that the intent of this document was to belittle the Palestinians, mock them, etc. something along those lines...that it was Zionist propoganda or something.

I was saying that if you're going to spend the time writing an email thats supposed to sway peoples minds, then why not write something at least slightly intelligent, or slightly persuasive? It would do alot more for your cause rather than using the guise of a poorly written scam.

What do I believe it is? People with bad language skills profiting from idiots who think there really was money left over the by the corrupt Arafat regime.

that it's a scam - but, I get the distinct impression that the proponents of this scam are of a particular political persuasion.

of course, I could be wrong. They might not care one way or another.
