Following is the full, unedited text of the speech delivered at the "Review of the Holocaust" conference in Tehran this week by Rabbi Aharon Cohen of the Neturei Karta anti-Zionism movement:

Honourable friends, peers and colleagues. We are gathered here to discuss and consider from many angles a tremendously prominent issue from among the tragic events of the second World War. The issue which has become known as the ‘Holocaust’. As is known this issue revolves around the policy and actions adopted by Nazi Germany against the Jewish People. This is of course in the context of their much wider murderous activities at that time. My aim is to try and give you the Orthodox Jewish approach to this matter....

Firstly let me express my gratitude to the illustrious organisers of this valuable event for granting my colleagues and myself the opportunity to express our views on this matter and we consider this opportunity a very great privilege.

I and my colleagues are what is known as Orthodox Jews, that is Jews who endeavour to live their lives entirely according to the age old Jewish religion and way of life known as Judaism. We are here under the banner of the group known as Neturei Karta which is not a separate movement or organisation but propagators of the philosophy expressing the opposition by Orthodox Jewry to the idea known as Zionism – the secular nationalistic movement to form a sectarian State in Palestine. As is well known, Zionism and the Holocaust have become very much intertwined over the years and the Zionists make a great issue of the Holocaust in order to further their illegitimate philosophy and aims. I wish to talk briefly about both of these topics and their connection.

The speech is definitely worth reading.

One might ask oneself if the Iranian president is nuts calling this conference or one smart cookie. The taboo on discussing questions around the Holocaust is now broken.

The timing of the conference and Jimmy Carter's book launch strike me as very interesting. The Israel apartheid debate taboo is broken too.

Zionism was a group of what was considered in the middle and late 1800s, a fringe group of "Jews" and Judaism. Every detail of capturing their "homeland" was well calculated and premeditated When Russia left the first World War because of the Bolshevik Revolution, and at a time when the Germanic states and Ottoman Turks had all but won the war in 1916 to build the Berlin to Baghdad rail system for oil, Balfour asked Hertzl's World Zionist Organization for help. If the Germanic nations and Ottoman Turks would have won, there would never been a chance to secure Palestine to create a Zionist nation. Everyone interested in where we are going should read the Balfour declaration between Lord Rothschild and Lord Balfour!

I would highly recommend reading Jewish publications of the late 1800s to see what was discussed in the articles. Before the 20th century, the chess match was set but their was and is no opposing side. The nationalist movement of the Zionists was and is a very well organized and calculating and has support from like minded Zionist nationalists around the world. No other country on earth gets the support that Israel does and from nearly every "western" country that exists.

Just to point out, alot of groups like the Hasidism believe that Israel won't be re-established until the coming of the Messiah, hence their opposition to secular nationalism. When the idea of Israel was being propogated following the second world war, many Hasidism opposed the creation of Israel not from a point of view that they cared much about Palestinians, but that it was wrong from a religous standpoint.

Just an interesting piece of info to add to the discussion.
