Microsoft and Digg - a match made in hell
The leader in internet corpocracy just teamed up with the leader in internet hypocrisy.
Microsoft Corp said on Wednesday it reached an agreement to be the exclusive provider of display and contextual advertising on Digg.com, a popular Web site that lets readers recommend [SELECTED] online articles to others. The three-year agreement between Microsoft and Digg, which has more than 17 million visitors a month, provides a boost to the world's largest software maker's efforts to gain a foothold in the rapidly growing online advertising market.
The two companies said they would also work together on future technology and advertising initiatives.
Digg challenges the long-held journalistic assumption that editors know best what people want to read and allows readers to "digg," or vote for a story to push up its rankings.
What a load of CRAP!
Anyone who has been reading WUFYS long enough can remember when Digg.com, the self-proclaimed champion of internet democracy DELETED the link to the popular WUFYS post titled "Meet the Next President of the United States of America" - a link that got over 4000 diggs in a matter of days and was slated to be one of the highest "Dugg" posts of the year - NOTWITHSTANDING the fact that this site is avowedly ANTI-ZIONIST.
In other words, PEOPLE DIDN'T CARE THAT WE ARE ANTI-ZIONIST because, contrary to what zionsts want us to believe, the world DOES NOT REVOLVE AROUND ISRAEL!
Now, mind you, Digg didn't simply close off the comments, or take it off the front page - they DELETED the whole damn thing and if that wasn't enough, until this day links to wakeupfromyourslumber.com are ABSOLUTELY BANNED at "Digg.com"
If that's not a prime example of 'editors deciding what readers should and should not be reading' then I don't know what is.
The agreement between Microsoft and Digg is just another corporate alliance between two mainstream giants who wouldn't know what the word freedom meant if it hit them in the nose.
Digg.com - the internet portal where readers decide what's hot (after editors decide what's not).

for those who doubt the veracity of my claims, here is a recent comment from one of a MINORITY of Digg readers who found our site offensive.
Digg censored our link precisely BECAUSE A MAJORITY OF THEIR READERS DISAGREED with this person, evidenced by the fact that it was DUGG like mad.

What absolutely annoys me is the fact that you are being attacked purely for your thoughts. Your critical, well researched, well documented, and well read thoughts. You don't propose violence or revolution, just discussion and questions why. Mankind would not be where it is today (in science, social, and political arenas) without asking the question why. As an old timer once told me, "Mychael the truth is a lonely place." Qrswave keep up the incredibly good work you do. The truth HAS set us free, thanks to brave people like you. I've never known a question to harm anyone, unless that anyone is up to no good and has something to hide, as in the cases and perpetrators you expose daily.
Microsoft shoving all there new NSA bunk into VISTA and then shoving it into your face with a crap price and a Bug list 389 pages long in items alone. Digg is just the thing to be used because they control it Much like Wikipedia . Microsoft,Motorola,Cisco,Linksys,Belkin,Apple And MANY other root industries all will have as much control over you as you let them have. And with your help and funds they can do WHATEVER THEY WANT.
Right up to the point they all go up in flames from market abuse that is.
First you take D.C. Then you take New York.
thanks for the kind words. but most of the credit goes to the readers and contributors like yourself who visit the blog and make it what it is.
I just got ticked because it was very disappointing to have the link to the Gravel post deleted at Digg - and to hear them boast about how democratic they are pissed me off to no end.

More Orwellian media outlets to help you understand "their" truth!
He who controls the past, controls the future.
He who controls the present controls the past.
