Israeli Agent Mohammad Dahlan Resigns as Security Chief
Dahlan Resigns!

The resignation of Mohammad Dahlan, who has been accused by HAMAS of behind assasination of Arafat, and collaboration with the Israelis, is welcome news for Palestinians.
I hope that Abbas will now take HAMAS's offer of uniting the Palestinians or himself resign and handover the government to the democratically elected HAMAS
The Palestinian security chief has resigned, six weeks after his Fatah forces were routed by Hamas and forced out of the Gaza Strip, Palestinian sources said.
Mohammad Dahlan cited medical reasons for his resignation and Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian president, accepted it on Thursday, the sources said.
Dahlan was heavily criticised within Abbas's Fatah faction for the failure of his security forces to prevent Hamas seizing control of Gaza in June.
He was not in Gaza when fighting broke out between the two factions. More than 100 people were killed in the conflict, while Dahlan was sidelined due to surgery on both knees.
In an interview with the Reuters news agency earlier in the month, Dahlan acknowledged mistakes and said individuals, including himself, should take responsibility for their errors.
Last month, Abbas dismissed Rashid Abu Shbak, another senior security official.

the fact that Fatah was recently linked (along with their israeli puppeteers) not only to Arafat's assassination but to the kidnappings of journalists in Gaza.

"Money" has no value - people do.
Somehow I hesitate to see Dahlan's resignation as any kind of "victory" (unfortunately). A man like Dahlan doesn't just disappear. This man is backed up with a lot of forces and money. I imagine that he may have resigned out of convenience for the Abbas government and the investigation results that are coming out regarding events that took place in Gaza that lead to the Hamas take-over.
