The U.S. Dollar - The 30s Redux?
2007 may well kick off with more people worrying about where their next meal will come from than about the fiasco of Iraq, now that China intends to dump all those trillions of soon-to-be worthless American dollars.
If you're lucky and smart, you'll trade your bucks in for Euros or precious metals.
Oh yeah, if worse comes to worse and we get to see Depression II, it's going to make the anger over gas prices pale in comparison.
Better get your supplies laid in now, America --perishables, flashlights, batteries, and if you can afford it, a generator.
Get set to play "Survivor" for real --only in this version, there'll be no immunity and no commercial breaks.
Imagine the face of a U.S. soldier after he finishes his tour in Baghdad, coming home to find the American dollar worthless, his hometown in chaos and a redeployment to keep the peace in his own land.
Lotsa luck!

"If you're lucky and smart, you'll trade your bucks in for Euros or precious metals."
if they do that, what you are saying will happen, will.
The trick is to lie and for everyone to continue to hold the illusion or everyone loses, except fot the few right at the top of the pyramid, the bankers and their friends who will end up buying it all and enslaving everyone else.
and that everything you describe could happen - I don't agree that it's a foregone conclusion.
At least, it wouldn't be, if Americans would come to their senses and end the reign of the Money Masters' over our monetary system, and dump the dollar with all its attendant illegitimate debt.
To that end, knowledge is power and communication is key.
So, spread the word!
Nationalize our monetary system NOW!
It's a detailed analysis with numerous links to back my assertions.
I already invested in a few silver bullions and 20 silver American Eagle bullion coins along with a (quite expensive) 1/4 gold American Eagle round.
I asked for Euro currency at the bank before I withdrew most of my cash for investment in metals and they said the banks do not do foreign currency exchanges on the weekends.
We'll see how it pans out next year. Remember, when the Great Depression became nationwide, it practically wiped out every American's life savings.
It can and will happen again if there is no intervention to slow or stop the continuous bleeding of American financial system thanks to corrupt and fiscally reckless Congress and Bush/Cheney administration. The Fed is also to blame. Federal Reserve Act should be struck down as clearly unconstitutional and exposed as fraudulent robbing American citizenry blind with the thuggish arm of the IRS to enrich their ultimately selfish lives.
Justice will be delivered to the thieving scums through the instant impoverishment and extermination of those proven guilty in the incoming crash of the fragile U.S. Dollar that put America in grave danger of having its Constitution destroyed to impose the tyranny.
