US Must Leave Southern Afghanistan: British General

Looks like the coalition is crumbling...

Washington, Aug 9 (Prensa Latina) A British general asked for the withdrawal of US troops from southern Afghanistan as a gesture for the high number of dead civilians bombed by the US Air Force.

The New York Times reported Thursday that the unidentified British general considered it necessary for US forces to leave Helmand Province, one of the most affected by the air attacks.

The NYT assured that other British military officers also spoke anonymously on the topic, criticizing the US special units in the zone.

The British officers estimated that a great part of the rejection of the foreign military presence is motivated by the indiscriminate bombings on populated areas, with 300 dead civilians this year.

You can't conduct an unjust war forever.

At some point, even invaders don't have the stomach for it.

i love this woman, she is so mean:

"DUE TO the rampantly anti-American atmosphere in Britain and to Britain's refusal to view the threat that Middle Eastern rogue regimes pose to its national security in the same way as the US perceives the threat, there have always been tensions in the countries' alliance that have led to their starkly different strategies in Iraq. The main reason that these divergent strategies receive attention today is because the US military's recent successes in Iraq make Britain's failures impossible to ignore."
