It's Official: Sheehan runs against Pelosi!

Did you see this in the news yesterday? I know I didn't.

I'm not surprised.

You can count on the mainstream media to keep a lid on Cindy's campaign - like they do on Ron Paul's - for as long as humanly possible.

Washington, Aug 10 (Prensa Latina) US peace activist Cindy Sheehan, famous for her criticism of the Bush administration, is now running for Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's seat in Congress.

Sheehan, who lost her son Casey in the Iraq war in 2005, officially announced her plan to run against the San Francisco Democrat in 2008 on Thursday, in order to represent her fellow citizens of California.

In July, Sheehan said she would challenge Pelosi for her seat unless she introduced articles of impeachment against President Bush, Vice President Richard Cheney, and other Cabinet officials.

At the launching of her campaign the brave mother, as she is well-known all over the world, accused Pelosi of protecting top government officials and losing the support of voters in her district, which majority rejects the US troops' presence in Iraq.

Cindy Sheehan said she will run as an independent candidate, and committed to work for universal health care, decreasing education costs and ethical purging of the Legislature and Executive.

The New York Times claims that Cindy's a long shot.

But, Nancy Pelosi must be having a cow.

She hasn't even warmed up her seat as Speaker of the House.

don't stand a chance in next elections because elections are being rigged since e'voting is introduced. Even if people voted for them in majority they will be sabotaged sis and that is a sad truth about western freedom and democracy (zionocracy).

but don't worry they will find other ways of neutralizing them if necessary even kill them. If they could do away with Kennedy and Lincoln why not with them. True devils in Western governments are those who are not liable to elections, they are always in office. You know what I mean.:)

If Sheehan beat Pelosi. I've been PO'd at Pelosi ever since she took "impeachment off the table" -- As if that was her decision to make. The Congress makes me sick.

Today I heard Bernie Sanders, the Senator from Vermont, saying that there were many more useful things the congress could be doing instead of wasting their time on impeachment. Like what? That should have been the first item on the agenda when the Dems took office. Bush has broken so many laws and continues to do so, and the Dems do nothing. Instead they help pass legislation that makes Bush's illegal wiretapping legal.

Every so often I get an email that complains about the latest thing the Bush administration is doing. To me this is like someone who has a pig in their apartment. They keep complaining about: "The pig tracks mud everywhere", "The pig ate my blanket"; "The pig peed on my rug"... And I'm thinking: "Why don't you just take the stupid pig out of the apartment?"

Bush was NEVER ELECTED. He's done nothing but steal, wreck the economy and start wars. And then I get an email complaining that Bush doesn't give enough money in the budget for education? Talk about straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel. As long as Bush is in power he will continue to do evil because he is evil. Period.

So what if they don't have the votes to get Bush out. At least they will have tried. And everyone who votes against impeachment will be on record as being a fascist.

So I hope the voters in San Francisco wise up and throw that phony Pelosi out on the street. That will send a clear signal to Congress that the people will not stand for a fake opposition.

This is Sheehan's announcement at Buzzflash.com:

Cindy Sheehan: Me for Congress!

A BUZZFLASH GUEST CONTRIBUTION
by Cindy Sheehan

My statement to the press when I announced my candidacy at the Presidio on August 9.

Two years ago this week, I started my first vigil in Crawford, TX, at what became Camp Casey I near George's vacation ranch. I never thought my path would lead me here today. Nothing before Casey was killed in the illegal and immoral war in Iraq prepared me for this new direction, but looking back on my life since April 4, 2004, I believe this is the next natural step to bringing the occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan to a swifter conclusion and those responsible accountable for the mess in our world.

An electorate disgusted with the policies of the Bush regime put the Democrats in the majority in Congress in November '06. We voted for change; however, Congress, under the speakership of Ms. Pelosi has done nothing but protect the status quo of the corporate elite and, in fact, since she has been the Speaker, the situation in the Middle East has grown far worse, with Congress' help, and recently more of our esssential freedoms were given to BushCo by Congress. That is not what we elected them to do!

A great majority of citizens in California's 8th Congressional district want the Bush regime impeached and want our troops home from the Middle East. I believe Ms. Pelosi has lost touch with the people of this district and America, and it's time for our reps that aren't doing their jobs by upholding their sworn oaths to the Constitution to receive a wakeup call!

I agree that with over 45 million American uninsured, we need universal health care. I agree that with many of our young people joining the military to receive college credit (which very few take full advantage of), it's time to make college affordable. I agree that the people in the administrative branch are corrupt, as are many members of Congress, and ethics need to be reformed. None of these worthy goals can be accomplished while we're spending 12 million of our tax dollars an hour in Iraq and while the foxes run the henhouse. In this once great nation of ours, the rich are getting richer, the poor are getting poorer and the middle class is rapidly disappearing along with the "American dream" of home ownership. The time is now to bring our tax dollars home from the Middle East to help the people of California's 8th and to make our communities safer and more prosperous.

Incredibly, even before the November elections, Ms. Pelosi took part of the Constitution off the table and it's time to put it back on! Ms. Pelosi colluded with BushCo to take away our 4th Amendment protection against unreasonable search and seizure. Congress needs to make that body relevant again as a co-equal branch of government that has a responsibility to put checks and balances on the executive branch, and not be conspirators in its crimes and murder.

The PATRIOT Act and Military Commissions Act need to be repealed and habeas corpus needs to be restored. These things can only happen with fearless leadership, not fearful capitulation to a lying President.

I am running unaffiliated with any political party because I believe the corporately controlled "two" party system is responsible for keeping our country in a state of cold and hot wars for decades and it's time to rein in the military industrial war complex that President Eisenhower warned us of almost 50 years ago.

My candidacy and service will put people before profits and people before political expediency. This country is ripe for a change and it is going to start right here and right now!

I dedicate my candidacy to the people of Iraq and Afghanistan that have been tragically harmed by BushCo with the complicity of Congress, Inc.

I dedicate my candidacy to my children and unborn grandchildren. All the children of the world deserve long lives lived in peace, prosperity, and
environmental sustainability.

Last of all, I dedicate my candidacy to my hero, Casey, who always stood up for what he believed in, even if it wasn't popular. He is my role model and I always strive to make him proud.

Thank you.

My eyes water every time I hear this woman speak.

Nancy Pelosi is nothing but an Israel-first traitor who show where her loyalty truly lie.

I sent her the hand-written letter asking her to initiate the impeachment process of Bush and Cheney last January. Nothing came of it.

If Cindy Sheehan needs the campaign fund, I would be glad to donate when I can.

I already sent $25 check to Ron Paul this week and will do the same for the exact amount for Gravel campaign with the letter of praise and encouragement soon.

Here's to Ron's victory in Iowa straw poll.

Nice shot of Pelosi! Would be nice too to see a good one of Chertoff... Didn't he issue a prophecy of a terrorist act in San Francisco... or was that a threat to Sheehan and SF...

The Democratic party had a chance to change the direction of American foreign policy but for the leadership of Nancy Pelosi. She along with other members have obviously been bought off by everyones favorite lobbyist aided by a controled media. One can only hope that the American people can recognize a good candinate when they see one such as Cindy Sheehan.

The last time any Sheehan-on-Pelosi friction hit the news, the congressional blowhards had CNN state it was breaking news that Congress may be changing its attitude on the wars without any substance at all. That's a virtual insult to your intelligence.

Cindy Sheehan does this all the time and hooray for her. She doesn't have to win anything big, she just has to show that the pro-war side is indefensibly fulla it. Camp Casey was a total score if you think that way. These are nothing more than Nigerian princes who want you to risk your life for their zionist thrones. Every time that message gets outside the political fringe with credibility, that's huge. Cindy Sheehan does exactly that because she wants her son's death to have meaning. (Instead of the "electronic transfer from Ghana" glow it has now.) Sooner or later, there might even be a Tillman or two thinking the same way.

Not with a mother like Cindy......

Cindy has read my mind.

Tell that lifeless entity [which you dare to call a country] of vampires to stop sucking the life out of its neighbours...

...then maybe the world [especially its neighbours] won't find so repugnant that it must despise your "precious" izzreeal, gee sorry, israel anymore.

Rhiannon | Sun, 2007-09-02 11:52

and you're probably long gone.

BUT FOR THE RECORD ANYWAY...

When it comes to WAR, israel doesn't comprehend such a dynamic. All IT does is invade and occupy countries, steal and murder their children and resources...

...and do keep this in mind, israel cowardly murders from heavily armoured tanks, gunships, cement towers, and fancy apache jets paid forever by the sumptuous tax dollars of the USA.

And the children [the opposition] throw rocks...

...in their own territory - land they never stole....

Wow....

....that is some "war" israel has got going on itself, as it never seems to suffer ADULT Palestinian, Lebanese soldiers with such fine and sophisticated weaponry on ITS STOLEN shores, air, and land.

Maybe someone should put a stop to israel beating itself up.

Quite the PARADOX this thing, israel, wouldn't you agree?
