TELEVISION AND THE HIVE MIND

I found this article extremely interesting and thought it worth sharing....

Sixty-four years ago this month, six million Americans became unwitting subjects in an experiment in psychological warfare.

It was the night before Halloween, 1938. At 8 p.m. CST, the Mercury Radio on the Air began broadcasting Orson Welles' radio adaptation of H. G. Wells' War of the Worlds. As is now well known, the story was presented as if it were breaking news, with bulletins so realistic that an estimated one million people believed the world was actually under attack by Martians. Of that number, thousands succumbed to outright panic, not waiting to hear Welles' explanation at the end of the program that it had all been a Halloween prank, but fleeing into the night to escape the alien invaders.

Later, psychologist Hadley Cantril conducted a study of the effects of the broadcast and published his findings in a book, The Invasion from Mars: A Study in the Psychology of Panic. This study explored the power of broadcast media, particularly as it relates to the suggestibility of human beings under the influence of fear. Cantril was affiliated with Princeton University's Radio Research Project, which was funded in 1937 by the Rockefeller Foundation. Also affiliated with the Project was Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) member and Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) executive Frank Stanton, whose network had broadcast the program. Stanton would later go on to head the news division of CBS, and in time would become president of the network, as well as chairman of the board of the RAND Corporation, the influential think tank which has done groundbreaking research on, among other things, mass brainwashing.

Two years later, with Rockefeller Foundation money, Cantril established the Office of Public Opinion Research (OPOR), also at Princeton. Among the studies conducted by the OPOR was an analysis of the effectiveness of "psycho-political operations" (propaganda, in plain English) of the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), the forerunner of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Then, during World War II, Cantril÷and Rockefeller money÷assisted CFR member and CBS reporter Edward R. Murrow in setting up the Princeton Listening Center, the purpose of which was to study Nazi radio propaganda with the object of applying Nazi techniques to OSS propaganda. Out of this project came a new government agency, the Foreign Broadcast Intelligence Service (FBIS). The FBIS eventually became the United States Information Agency (USIA), which is the propaganda arm of the National Security Council.

Thus, by the end of the 1940s, the basic research had been done and the propaganda apparatus of the national security state had been set up--just in time for the Dawn of Television ...

Experiments conducted by researcher Herbert Krugman reveal that, when a person watches television, brain activity switches from the left to the right hemisphere. The left hemisphere is the seat of logical thought. Here, information is broken down into its component parts and critically analyzed. The right brain, however, treats incoming data uncritically, processing information in wholes, leading to emotional, rather than logical, responses. The shift from left to right brain activity also causes the release of endorphins, the body's own natural opiates--thus, it is possible to become physically addicted to watching television, a hypothesis borne out by numerous studies which have shown that very few people are able to kick the television habit.

Turning it off for long enough time that when you turn it back on, you can see them clearly.

Doesnt matter how much you like Stephen Colbert or anything else. If one does not reboot their consciousness (which takes several weeks), one will not shake the 'programming'.

IF you miss 2 months of SouthPark - thats just the price you pay. Anyone serious about resistance must turn it off.

If you havent and you are here, trust me, you have no idea. What you think you can see now is nothing compared to what is there to see.

when you go by your friends house, and your favorite show is on, and you find yourself bored and feeling like you are wasting your time, you are almost ready.

Change the plan to something else or leave the house on a couple of occasions, and you're done.

I agree Geez, one of the first steps we can take to free ourselves of the 'Hive Mind' brainwashing is to simply SHUT OFF THE Televesion, even eliminate the Television if you have the mental discipline.

It's a tough choice to make, given that TV is actually PHYSICALLY ADDICTIVE.

I haven't watched any tv for months and months, except for accidental snippets here and there. All tv becomes an assault on the senses after enough time. Everybody prances around so full of themselves. Actors really take the cake. One day the tv drama and soap opera will die out from lack of interest - there won't be enough people sufficiently lacking in self-awareness to serve as an audience, and there won't be enough people sufficiently conceited to have trained up as "professional actors."

all I have is my comp.

but I take great pleasure in collecting little video-DJ type political mixes, five to ten minutes in length (i.e., paced like records).

I call them 'propaganda bullets'.

I put them on my blog, too, but I like to make my own offline copies (as mp4 files, for the reason that I have the impression that is the standard format of choice for video archives).

on the "holocaust" and israel and the ME in general were based on movies and crummy journalism. When it came to those issues, my critical thinking had gone out the window.

I no longer watch TV, and when I do see it at someone's house I often can believe people listen to that nonsense. The last two times I saw the Daily Show, there was a guest on talking about bombing Iran. They're floating trial balloons and the zombies don't notice.

The clarity with which you can see the hidden hand is unbelieveable. Stupefying even.

Even on things I liked and watched before.

The movie "They Live" isnt much of an exaggeration at all really.

The same thing will happen with most of the "patriot' talking heads if you include them.

Especially a man named 'Smith.'

I still watch television to know what the enemy are up to. The shows I'm monitoring at the moment are "Heroes", which is pushing a bombing of New York, and The Enemies of Reason by Richard Dawkins which is sublty attacking 911 truthers, and also those who link MMR vaccines to Autism. In short Dawkins appears to be a stooge pushing the controller's agenda.

And of course Big Brother, which treats adults like children and generally seems to be the elites taking the piss out of us all.

I agree that once you know what they are up to, it's easy to see their hidden hand everywhere. They really are pushing disaster scenarios at the moment, which may indicate what they have in store for us all.

Turning it off for long enough time that when you turn it back on, you can see them clearly.

Why bother turning it on again at all?

The movie "They Live" isnt much of an exaggeration at all really.

"They Live" is pure documentary, if you ask me :)

I really don't know what to think of Bill Cooper. He was all over the place. His research ranged from the Illuminati to UFOs with a lot of Freemasonry in between. However, he has one file which is worth a listen. The file is on "The world of Wars " broadcast. He analyzes the broadcast and concludes with the original radio show. He basically states that the UFO phenomenon is a military psych-ops. here is the link show #33
