Warn of imminent plot to "orchestrate and manufacture a new 9/11 terror incident"

A group of former government officials along with current Congressional candidates, authors and activists has issued an urgent warning that a faction of the US government allied with Dick Cheney is planning to stage a terror event or provocation as a pretext for launching military attacks against Iran and implementing emergency powers in America.
Former US Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, along with former US Diplomat and Colonel in the US Army reserve Ann Wright have put their names to an open letter warning that massive evidence points to an upcoming event.
Current Congressional candidates Cindy Sheehan and Craig Hill are also among the signatories to the letter.
Here is the letter in full:
To the American people, and to peace loving individuals everywhere:
Massive evidence has come to our attention which shows that the backers, controllers, and allies of Vice President Dick Cheney are determined to orchestrate and manufacture a new 9/11 terror incident, and/or a new Gulf of Tonkin war provocation over the coming weeks and months. Such events would be used by the Bush administration as a pretext for launching an aggressive war against Iran, quite possibly with nuclear weapons, and for imposing a regime of martial law here in the United States. We call on the House of Representatives to proceed immediately to the impeachment of Cheney, as an urgent measure for avoiding a wider and more catastrophic war. Once impeachment has begun, it will be easier for loyal and patriotic military officers to refuse illegal orders coming from the Cheney faction. We solemnly warn the people of the world that any terrorist attack with weapons of mass destruction taking place inside the United States or elsewhere in the immediate future must be considered the prima facie responsibility of the Cheney faction. We urge responsible political leaders everywhere to begin at once to inoculate the public opinion of their countries against such a threatened false flag terror operation.

The warning comes on the heels of a spate of recent news stories and reports indicating that "chatter" about a terror event is at an all time high. Tell Congress to Stop the March to War with Iran

President Bush announced today that he has authorized US forces in Iraq to confront Iran militarily. "I have authorized our military commanders in Iraq to confront Tehran's murderous activities," Bush said in a speech to US war veterans in Reno. Simultaneously, US forces raided a hotel in Baghdad and detained ten Iranians who according to a U.S.-funded radio station included members of an Iranian negotiation team.
This move comes amidst a campaign by the White House to escalate the rhetorical war between Washington and Tehran, in which the President has taken concerted new steps toward war. This flurry of rhetoric has largely rung hollow in the halls of Congress, as members are away for summer recess.
While Congress has been gone, the harshness and frequency of the rhetoric from both sides has steadily increased. Last week the Bush administration announced its intention to designate the IRGC as a terrorist entity, an unprecedented move. This week in Reno, the President reiterated accusations that Iran was smuggling weapons into Iraq while chastising the Iraqi prime minister for his diplomatic relations with Iran. Left unchallenged, all these steps point in one, undeniable direction: War.
The recent moves follow a familiar pattern. In January 2007, the President accused Iran of supplying IED's to Iraqi insurgents, signaling his intention to use military force to attack Iran. Simultaneously, US forces detained five Iranians at an Iranian consulate in the Iraqi city of Irbil. Congress successfully averted crisis through swift and strong reactions to the escalated rhetoric. Congress took immediate action by challenging the President to provide evidence for the claims.
Now, as the White House is once again escalating tensions, Congress must act to prevent war from occurring.
Write a letter to your lawmakers today urging them to take immediate action. Tell your representative to prevent the march towards war!

I am really happy to read that the US opposition is finally started to raise its voice..., however... part of the letter annoyed me:

As one of "the people of the world", I would like to tell the Kennebunkport group that they really are in no position to "warn the people of the world" about any act of terror the United States commits, because we, "the people of the world", usually know about it far before the American people ever find out (that is, if they ever do...). Unlike the American people, the "people of the world" are generally far better informed and politically aware than the American people.
The Kennebunkport group goes on to say:
"We urge responsible political leaders everywhere to begin at once to inoculate the public opinion of their countries against such a threatened false flag terror operation."
Excuse me? "inoculate" us? We don't need any more inoculation from our pro-US "responsible political leaders". What we need is an inoculation that will protect us from American ill-intentioned intervention into our countries and societies. It is not because some Americans finally woke up that "the people of the world" will simply forget that the US has just destroyed 'a few countries' along the way while most Americans were fast asleep.

However... the Iranians keep confidently saying that the US won't attack. Their explanation? If the US attacks, it is the surest way of guaranteeing the US's final and complete collapse... which they welcome. Investments here (in Egypt) from the Gulf countries has reached peak hight... Is all this out of precaution? I just don't know anymore because US policy in the Middle East lately has proven not to subject to 'logic' or 'wisdom'. What the US doing is beyond playing with fire...

On August 29th, 2007, Webster Tarpley issued the Kennebunkport Warning. It claimed “massive evidence” suggested that a US-Sponsored false flag terror attack would be orchestrated in “the coming months”. The original document listed signatures by Cindy Sheehan, Ann Wright and others.
Or did it?
At least five anti-war activists including Cindy Sheehan denied signing the document and an ensuing controversy erupted. While those who denied signing the document were civil and cordial, those who created the warning offered insults, accusations, and divisive behavior. Later, those investigating the affair were targeted with accusations and insults along with false allegations that they “opposed” the Kennebunkport warning and “worked for the Ford Foundation”. Charges of incivility against the warning promoters remain unacknowledged.
While many offered their take on the controversy, a “9/11 truth leader” responded without naming names or taking sides; giving advice on how to deal with disinformation, infiltration, and agent provocateurs. Jim Hoffman offered his thoughts on Cosmos' radio show:
"It’s so clear. What possible motive would there be someone to go making these vicious characterizations of these really well known peace activists like Cindy Sheehan… When people like [Cosmos], Arabesque, and Wolsey report on it, to be viciously attacked by Tarpley with all these ridiculous accusations of COINTELPRO…? Very entertaining to watch, very vivid, just lurid—it’s ridiculous... I think it’s a really good test of whether people are really in this in the benefit of our movement: are going to tolerate this sort of thing? Where are the voices of the alleged leaders of the 9/11 truth movement about this and similar incidents?
