We Have Three Days.

We have three days to head off a war with Iran. That's three days to compile, distill, and disseminate information that will undercut corporate media collusion with a desperate Bush administration to open a third front in Bush's wars.
We are at a disadvantage, since we are up against professionals with multi-million-dollar budgets.
We have an advantage in that their message is predictable and aimed at idiots and cowards.
First up, in case you don't believe me (and why should you?), here's why I say we have three days. First, I saw this:
BOB Baer, the former Middle East CIA operative whose first book about his life inspired the oil-and-espionage thriller Syriana, is working on a new book on Iran, but says he was told by senior intelligence officials that he had better get it published in the next couple of months because things could be about to change.
Baer, in an interview with The Weekend Australian, says his contacts in the administration suggest a strategic airstrike on Iran is a real possibility in the months ahead.
"What I'm getting is a sense that their sentiment is they are going to hit the Iranians and not just because of Israel, but due to the fact that Iran is the predominant power in the Gulf and it is hostile and its power is creeping into the Gulf at every level," Baer says.
He says his contacts have told him of his book: "You better hurry up because the thesis is going to change. I told them submission is in January but they said, 'You're probably going to be too late'."
Then, today, I saw this:
Today I received a message from a friend who has excellent connections in Washington and whose information has often been prescient. According to this report, as in 2002, the rollout will start after Labor Day, with a big kickoff on September 11. My friend had spoken to someone in one of the leading neo-conservative institutions. He summarized what he was told this way:
They [the source's institution] have "instructions" (yes, that was the word used) from the Office of the Vice-President to roll out a campaign for war with Iran in the week after Labor Day; it will be coordinated with the American Enterprise Institute, the Wall Street Journal, the Weekly Standard, Commentary, Fox, and the usual suspects. It will be heavy sustained assault on the airwaves, designed to knock public sentiment into a position from which a war can be maintained. Evidently they don't think they'll ever get majority support for this--they want something like 35-40 percent support, which in their book is "plenty."
There's more at both links, if you care to go track it all down.
My modest and unqualified offerings begin here.
RESPONSE:
Strategic:
We can anticipate three basic thrusts from Bush's psy-ops war on his fellow Americans. (Hey, I told you they were predictable!) They are Iran's:
- Nuclear threat
- Connection to international terrorism
- Responsibility for American deaths in Iraq
- Nuclear threat:
Any response must advance your own narrative, not just gainsay the narrative of your opponent. For this reason, laying out all the technical reasons why Iran's capacity to build a nuclear weapon lay way off in the next decade would be barking up the wrong tree. The proper response to Bush and his enablers when they claim an immanent threat from Iran's nuclear program is to lead with variations on "there they go again."
The failure to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq provides the single greatest opportunity we have of preventing the further weakening of America's military and political position in the world and also preventing further death and destruction. "There they go again" plays on a sense of inevitability that Bush's enablers cannot respond to because they don't want to have that conversation ... ever. It also throws the focus back on the source of the story: the discredited Bush administration.
Yes, Iran is a different country from Iraq, but the information is coming from that same source that got so many Americans killed in Iraq and has nothing to show for it but a weaker America and a stronger enemy.
The drunk already crashed the Buick. Now he wants the Chevy. The proper response is not to give him the Chevy. What he needs is black coffee and a long time out.
- Connection to international terrorism:
This is their weakest hand, so it is only likely to be played in conjunction with #'s 1 & 2. Bringing up Iran's support for groups we call "terrorist" because they're not the MEK requires that Bush and his enablers invoke events in far away countries at a time when even their base is increasingly concerned with events at home. There is no need to play the "one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter" game with them, because it will only strengthen a hand that was weak for them. Instead, it's useful for any number of purposes to stress how much hasn't been done to improve America's defenses (especially our ports) besides putting a 50 cal. outside a petting zoo in South Carolina.
Why are we still vulnerable to these terrorist networks? What the hell has Bush been doing, almost six years into his "War on Terror"?
- Responsibility for American deaths in Iraq:
Bush and his enablers in the corporate media have been hard at work at building this theme in the mind of low-information "US Americans and such as" for some time. That's their audience. The best response is a combination. First, recall all the times they've had to backpedal on this one before. Follow through with a challenge as to why they've done nothing about Saudi support for our enemies in Iraq. Delivered properly, this combination will leave you an opening to launch into your own narrative.
How is Bush going to occupy Iran when he can't even manage Iraq? How is he going to pay for this? Where are the military resources going to come from? How will we ever be able to leave Iraq now? Sadr just announced a six-month truce, what does an attack on Iran tell the Shi'ites?
They don't have any answers. They have no idea what they're doing. That's why Bush and his enablers can only prey on fear and ignorance.
There is one strategic key to the entire conversation: Bush and his enablers want to talk about big scary Iran in order to build support for a war. We, on the other hand, want to talk about the war first, because most people don't want it. They need to sneak up on the issue of war. We need to let people know that it's there now.
Tactical:
- Do not use "we" or "us." The USA, us/we, are not going to attack Iran, Bush is. This approach aggravates the right's increasing isolation AND protects you from "blame America first" distractions. They're all alone and everyone hates them. Make them feel it.
- If I see any of you writing about this, saying how big, scary, dangerous, hairy, and tough Bush/the Republicans are, I will secretly reach into your computer and delete all of that novel you're working on that no one else knows about. Never say 'ouch' to a barbarian, it only encourages them. They do this out of weakness, not strength. The only thing that makes these isolated and failed bed-wetter who want to bomb Iran look like manly men is some cringing leftie squealing next to them. Their base eats that up, since they'll support anything that you hate or fear, even if it means damaging their own country.
- Time is not their friend. Always plan on inevitability. Bush is on his way out, which is a big part of why he's going this.
- The pro-war fringe. America has left them behind. They're doing this partially out of spite, somewhere between scorched earth and sour grapes. Bombing brown people because of the bomb they don't have appeals to only a very small part of America. They used to hang black people from trees. Now they have abu Ghraib. Same thrill. Bombing Iraq helped them feel better about 9/11. Bombing Iran is supposed to help them feel better about Bush's failure in Iraq.
- Corruption. Laundering money through ginned-up wars is a money-maker for these guys. It's the only carrot that keeps Bush's backers wandering Iraq.

There's a war going on - and we must work together.
If we want to win the hearts and minds of Americans - we have to SPREAD THE WORD to people who otherwise would not read it.
Readership at WUFYS is okay - but, it can get better - much better.
For the most part, regular readers now are comprised of regular readers at whatreallyhappened and other sites that link here occasionally.
What we need is a concerted effort on the part of core WUFYS readers to strategically place links, to some of the more important posts, at reddit, stumbleupon and other social networking sites that can attract NEW readers to our site.
It's not enough to sit around and talk to ourselves about what's going on - we need to communicate with others.
I'm not asking you guys to litter the internet with links to WUFYS that are unrelated to the forum you're visiting. But, a few strategic mentions and links at various mainstream venues will go a long way to spreading the message far and wide.
And it beats the hell out of bickering over DBS and attacking eachother with banal insults.
What do you say?
If we have three days, then we have to act fast.

........THIS INFORMATION WILL SHOCK, SURPRISE, AND SADDEN YOU, BUT YES, THE WORST IS YET TO COME IF AMERICANS DO NOT WAKE UP.
A nationwide/worldwide panic is going to be created, of such magnitude, that it will threaten our very existence. This same government will then step in to offer a solution, they will have "an antidote" (VACCINE), BUT, only those who will accept the Medical ID (national id) will be treated, all others will be considered a danger and threat to society, hunted down, and imprisoned (quarantined) or killed. Americans will welcome this solution, will turn-in their neighbors and friends in order to survive themselves. At the same time, this instrument WILL permanently, publicly SUSPEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THESE united STATES, to allow United Nations Rule (controlled by the shadow - Serpent People), a One World Government. AMERICA & THE WORLD WILL BE ENSLAVED.
They are preparing you for what they already know and have planned. It is not by an accident of nature (ala-Bird Flu) or terrorist attack, it is by purposeful planning, and it is HERE - OUTBREAK

Russian bombers and submarines continue to make unpleasant surprises for NATO
The resumption of flights for Russian strategic bombers made NATO express serious concerns on the matter. In addition, NATO closely watches tests of a new Russian submarine. This news made "the most democratic country in the world" see that Russia is an equal rival for NATO. The NATO command is seriously concerned about the surprises that Russia makes.
When Russia’s strategic aviation recommenced flights in the areas of its traditional patrolling the Pentagon and European headquarters were shocked to learn the news. Russian aircraft have not patrolled the air space above the Atlantic waters within the past fifteen years, which made NATO believe that it held the absolute power there.
There are even some hysteric statements saying that the recommencement of flights by strategic aviation of the Russian Federation may mean the start of a new cold war. But some experts scoff at Moscow’s attempts to scare Europe with its outdated airplanes as they call the Russian strategic bombers.
Russia currently tests a new submarine called Amur in the Baltic Sea. The NATO Navy is closely watching the test, and the more information the NATO command gets about the submarine and the test the gloomier it grows.
The non-nuclear submarine of the Amur class is a fourth generation submarine that can deliver salvo missile attack at various targets. The level of its acoustic field is several times lower than it is registered with the world’s most noiseless submarines of the Kilo class.
The submarine is equipped with a new generation radioelectronic arming. What is more, the construction of the submarine allows supplying it with special power installations with chemical generators that help considerably increase its submerged endurance and cruising range.
Amur can operate in any part of the world ocean with the exception of areas covered with solid mass of ice, under any weather conditions, in shallow and deep waters. The Amur armament consists of ten vertical containers with cruise or anti-ship missiles together with missiles to hit surface targets. There are also four torpedo-tubes with multi-purpose torpedoes to deliver against a ship or above-water targets at short range. Amur can deliver a massive missile attack within at least two minutes.
Because of the low noise that makes it hard to detect such submarines experts in the West call them ‘the black hole in the ocean’. Chief designer of the project Yury Kormilitsyn said that the submarine was designed as an underwater hunter able to destroy any targets, surface battleships, transport ships or submarines, to deliver torpedo and missile attacks, to set mine barriers, and also to destroy targets with the help of soldier swimmers.
NATO experts fear that the submarine will be exported to other countries such as Venezuela that contends against the USA for domination in Latin America.
It is quite logic that Russia is actively reviving its military industrial complex and recommencing patrolling of the strategic aviation. In the past years, the West traditionally treated Russia as a weak part that regularly proposed peace initiatives and demanded peace for its own security. So, the West saw the role of Moscow as that of a petitioner.
But when Russia exhausted all the opportunities to make all countries friends it decided to pursue its own interests. That made the West and Europe first of all realize that Moscow would have its own way independently and may act even contrary to Europe’s interests.
After the breakup of the USSR the USA felt its global responsibility that later transformed into unrestricted domination over the world that allowed Washington to apply a neoconservative doctrine and intrude countries with unwanted regimes. Now the structure of the one-pole world is coming tumbling down.
Russia is not the only country that disagrees with the present-day model of the world order, and Moscow knows how to make others hear its opinion. Russia can definitely be an equal rival to NATO in the sky and at sea.
makes sense to me.
Why would Russia sit idly by while the US and its allies try to dominate the world?
Russia's conduct is not only predictable, it's perfectly logical.

It is quite possible that Putin could be a friend of American liberty. Since our military won't arrest the ziocon cabal under Cheney, perhaps we can get some help from Putin.
85% of the Russians love him and he has stripped the Rothschild's of their stolen assets.
I regard him as a good leader who is looking out for the best interests of his people. Too bad Americans can't say the same..

The USS Kearsarge, a Amphibous Troop Carrier (LHAC)
Debka Text (In Case they Delete it Aug 29th, 2007)
Our military sources report that aboard the Kearsarge group’s vessels are members of the 22nds Marine special operations-capable Expeditionary Unit, ready to execute landings on Lebanese beaches.
Wednesday, Aug. 29, Adm. William Fallon, chief of US Central Command and the war on terror paid an unannounced visit to Beirut, although for years US generals have given the Lebanese capital a wide berth. He left after three hours, the longest time considered safe for him to stay. Our sources reveal he reviewed with Lebanese leaders US preparations for military intervention should the September presidential election descend into civil violence or elicit an attempt by Iran, Syria or Hizballah to seize power by force. Such an attempt could leave Lebanon dangerously stranded between two rival administrations.
The posting of the Kearsage and a marine force within reach of Lebanese shores is intended as a deterrent and indicator of Washington’s willingness to send the military over to prevent Lebanon’s takeover by Iran or Syria.
Adm. Fallon also inspected the measures for protecting the lives of the anti-Syrian leaders prime minister Fouad Siniora, majority party head Saad Hariri and Druze leader Walid Jumblatt, and the safety of US ambassador Jeffrey Felton, a key mover in charting US strategy for Lebanon, and the embassy staff.
Portents of coming unrest were seen last week in the hasty departure from Beirut of the Saudi and UAE ambassadors under threats to their lives. Most Arab and European missions have cut down staff in the Lebanese capital.
Lebanese police are investigating the re-appearance of a sick videogame in Beirut whose goal is the murder of the prime minister, cabinet members, Jumblatt and Maronite leader Samir Geagea, who are designated “thieves and traitors.” Its name, “The Battle of the Seraya,” refers to the government building. The game, which has been removed from stores in Beirut, depicts underground tunnels leading from the government building to the US embassy, echoing Hizballah’s reference to the Siniora government as “the Feltman Cabinet.”
The government building has been guarded by tanks and three army and police battalions since the Hizballah-led opposition occupied downtown Beirut earlier this year with the declared aim of toppling the government.
