US Catholics ‘All for Disinvestment’

Looks like 2007 may be the year that israeli coffers dry up.

U.S. Roman Catholics have come out squarely against Israel in a new poll by a Catholic publication.

In a survey conducted by The Tablet, a majority of those questioned agreed that they “would disinvest from companies whose products are used by the Israeli government in the occupied territories”.

In the poll of more than 2,800 people, 68.5 per cent supported disinvestment while 75 per cent called for the “removal of Jewish West Bank settlements”.

The widespread anti-Israeli sentiment among the polled Catholics was further revealed by the large number who opposed the security fence around Palestinian Authority areas to prevent the entry into Israel of terrorists and suicide bombers.

The poll said that 79.4 per cent of those polled disagreed with the statement that “the security wall is needed to protect the population of [Israel] from suicide bombers”.

80.4 per cent said they “support international efforts to arrive at a two-state solution between the Israelis and the Palestinians” while 75.2 per cent said they supported PA Arab calls for an independent homeland within the borders that existed before the 1967 Arab-Israeli war.

Expect israelis either to launch a new and improved campaign against Muslims in general and Arabs in particular - plus or minus a false flag - or, to launch an innovative full frontal assault against Catholics.

... is exposed and thoroughly debunked here.

People are waking up, the propaganda war is futile in the face of truth.

This is an important comment from a reader, who for some reason is experiencing trouble posting comments. She's not the only reader having trouble.

I will try to solve the comment problems ASAP. Thanks, everyone, for your patience.

The Tablet is a British Catholic publication, and I suspect that the British population is much more aware of the Israel problem than are American Catholics.

There is currently a debate going on in the Catholic ranks about the status of the Jews and salvation - which may seem to be a farfetched argument until you realize that the Jews have an interest in destroying the Catholic Church, therefore they would favor the interpretation that it is not necessary to renounce the Old Covenant for salvation - or rather, that the Old Covenant suffices for Jews. This negates, of course, the entire raison d'etre for Christianity.

E. Michael Jones, editor of Culture Wars (Fidelity Press, Indiana) is totally aware of the Jewish problem, and is about to publish a book on "The Revolutionary Jew." Which is bound to be of intense interest and controversy.

But on the whole I have not found among my fellow-Catholics, dear people that they are, a sharp awareness of the significance of the Jewish problem. Or rather let me say I sense a vague anxiety rather than a clear understanding.

The Presbyterians are actually ahead of the curve on this one. The Presbyterian Church has, to much criticism, been calling for disinvestment, and Westminster Press has published David Ray Griffin on 9/11.

There are a few conscious Christians around, but many more are needed. Ultimately the Jewish agenda favors the destruction of viable Christianity and the fomenting of annihilating hatreds between what remains of Christianity and the Islamic world - not to mention internecine conflicts between Sunni and Shia Muslims.

This is a dark age indeed, but we must keep struggling.

Best wishes to you, and happy new year - if possible. Caryl
