The Tactic of Fear-Mongering
Will the supporters of Zionism ever realize the fundamental wrong that has been inflicted on the Palestinians by 60 years of expropriation, oppression and murder, or on Palestine´s neighboring country´s by Israel´s attacks and threats of attacks and it´s meddling overtly and covertly in their affairs up to the instigations of civil wars, or on the rest of the world by pushing the agenda of a "clash of civilizations"?
Will any Zionist supporter see this eventually, or maybe just some or many or even all of them?
No doubt,that many of todays dedicated Zionists are beyond hope. They most likely will not change their minds. This is especially true for the Neocon elite.
My point, however, is the question how these cynical Neocon liars still can attract such a large group of followers in the Jewish and even in the Gentile population. The aim must be for an anti-Zionist to disrupt this support.
The main indoctrination tool Zionists in Israel and Neocons in the rest of the world use, is fear.
Western Gentiles are being indoctrinated to fear the "Islamist threat" and Jews are being intimidated by the "threat of anti-Semitism".
Not everybody falls for this fear mongering, but far too many still do.
I do not justify American wars and Israeli atrocities. Even fear can never be an excuse for the murder and persecution of defenseless, innocent people. But I do want to understand the mindset of people who support those actions.
While I have come through observations to the conclusion that fear is the main driving factor in this process, I still do not think, that you can abolish the fears of fanatical Zionists by being nice to them and never speaking truth to power. That´s been done for far too long by well-meaning western liberals. It didn´t work.
But one thing, we should not do either, making the point of those Zionist fanatics, that all Gentiles are natural anti-Semites. Anti-Zionists do this, when they are seemingly incapable of seeing the difference between Jews and Zionists,and by making all Jews responsible for what a tiny elite of rich people do, especially since this economic and political elite, which drives current imperialist and capitalist policies is only partly Jewish (or Zionist) in the first place.
This is the best way of driving even more Jews and well-meaning Gentiles in the hand of the Zionists and preventing many others to get out.
An even more efficient way of recruiting for the Zionist cause is by acting crazy.
Jews have been taught by Zionist elites, that gentile anti-Semitism is driven by inner subconscious forces, which cannot be controlled by logic.
They have been taught that anti-Jewish pogroms cannot be prevented by non-provocative behavior or integrating as equals into gentile society, since Gentiles cannot control their Jew-hating urges. And the only way to protect Jewish people is by building a strong Zionist state with an overwhelming Jewish majority, a safe haven for all the Jewish people in the world, who are constantly threatened by periodical outbreaks of anti-Semitism.
Crazy acting Gentiles make the Zionist point. And sometimes it really is an act:
The other week I watched the TV show "Raines".
There a bunch of wild-looking individuals of an Aryan supremacist group were portrayed as totally insane. One of the leaders was shaking his whole body and screaming and laughing hysterically, and the other one was shooting like a madmen, when he was already surrounded by the police. Now I do agree, that the Aryan philosophy is unethical and irrational per se. But the show put those "Aryans" into direct connection to anti-Zionism, letting the obvious crazies cry out towards the police detective: "You are a Zionist and work for our Zionist occupied government."
Portraying Arabic or Islamic people as violent crazies is also a stock in the fear mongering trade. Last year an anti-Hollywood documentary has taken excerpts of dozens of Hollywood movies and examined a thousand of them, which portrayed Muslims. More than 90% of those movies portray Muslims negatively, most often violent, insanely violent. Even when the portrayed people utter genuine grievences, it is done in such a wild-eyed fashion, that their complaints loose any credibility for the audience.
Not only on screen, but also in real life, "the crazy act" can be used as means to intimidation. I´ve seen it and I did feel the fear:
The day after having being attacked by Israeli settlers in Palestine for the second time, they somehow had found out I was German.
"Nazi I´ll kill you", I was told straight into my face in a low soft but still menacing voice, just me not the other internationals, by a guy coming out of a large group of settlers, some with guns.
And Baruch Mazel, the best friend of the maniacal killer Baruch Goldstein, Goldstein had mass-murdered 29 Palestinians and injured over 200 in the Ibrahimi mosque, held me personally responsible for the 6 million dead Jews in WWII, every time he passed me. One time he pointed me out for a group of American Jewish visitors, saying loudly: "Her father is a Nazi and she has come here to resume her father´s evil works."
And then came the crazy guy in the car. To be honest, after I had received personal death threats from settlers walking around with guns, the guy did scare me.
He came regularly at all the places were internationals were standing to protect Palestinian school-children from settler violence. He stormed out of his car gesticulating wildly, screaming, coming very close: "You want to see blood, you want to see Jewish blood, you Nazis! I´ll show you"
After a few times, however, a pattern emerged before our eyes: The guy got out of his car, started screaming and threatening, and then calmly, got back in the car again and drove to next the station of internationals.
Intimidation was the name of the game.
Craziness is scarier than rational evil.
You can´t negotiate with a crazy guy.
But going online I have also seen the crazy act, a fear producing intimidation, signaling: "Stay away from anti-Zionism and from the 9/11 truth movement."
We have to realize that the Internet is just like the mainline media a battle ground for the propaganda war. Not everything you read online is true and not everyone is what he pretends to be.
The tricks and mind playing games, western intelligence organizations use in the real world, they use in here as well.
If you keep this in mind, it´s harder for them to fool you. And you can counter some of their fear-mongering tactics.
