Ahmadinejad - LIVE from Tehran!
This is the full speech of Iran's president Ahmadinejad, at the Amir Kabir University in Tehran. It's a must see.
There was a lot of talk about this speech - the mainstream media labeled it a students uprising against a dictator.
Well, you can see for yourself what it was.
There is a lot of insight to gain about Iranian political and economic structure and problems by watching this speech. The Iranian president also responds to many accusations – so, you can get a feeling for how he operates.
And yes the speech is pretty long. But again, I believe this is a must see, so here it is:
Part 2, student movements, memories about the revolution.
Part 3, he answers some questions on different university matters. Also this is where he starts talking about the nuclear issue.
Part 4, this is where he starts talking of the Psy Ops trying to avert him from pushing the nuclear issue planning the overthrowing of the iranian government.
Part 5, he talks about his meeting at the Council on Foreign Relations, Israel and the Holocaust.
Part 6, this is were he starts talking about the corruption in Iran, and what happened when he started fighting it. He also talks about the corruption of previous administration officials, most likely the last presidents, and their connection to the press. This part gives good insight on the iranian economic situation and its hardships.
Part 7, here he talks about the stock exchange, the market manipulations, insider trading and lots of other interesting topics that'll give you insight view of thing work in iran.
Part 8, some more market infos, the nuclear issue, the holocaust and some words for those opposing him.
For those who just want to read the transcript, well here it is . . .
In the name of God most merciful most forgiving.
I'm thanking the great God and I am very happy, to be today at the best technical university of the country.
The Amir Kabir University is one of the most pleasant, active and scientific, universities of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In addition to...[students chant something indistinct ]
This is the call of every student in the beloved Iran.
Our students have for ...[ and they are again chanting ]
In this sacred country, the students have always been against dictatorships and they always will be.
The pride of the university is in knowing a [dictatorial] system in every garment and to uproot it.
Today the worst kind of dictatorship in the world is the American dictatorship in the [guise] of human rights.
We are grateful to God that our beloved students are consistently vigilant, joyful, knowing, determined - standing their ground on every issue, today and always.
And we are grateful to God that our dear Amir Kabir University is one of the very active researching and joyful.
In the year 54 (1975), one... change in the acceptance of students was created . . . I think one of the most important aspects of an aware student is to tolerate the speaking of others.
And I think we all have to truly show that we are free and mindful students.
A free student dies, fights but doesn't work as a delegate for foreigners.
In the year...
The pride ... of our university environment is the consistent coolness, the rationality, and its acceptance of truth.
From the year 54 (1975) I remember students that truthfully were adherent of freedom, were adherent of righteousness, were adherent of justice, and were adherent of independence. They, at the same time stayed rational, sound and self-possessed.
So, I believe there has been enough slogans, you [said] what you wanted to say now it is time that - for a couple of minutes - you listen to the words of your small brother who has risen from the university time on to stand up for justice.
So, the friends had their talk, we heard their matters.
I will for a couple of minutes, talk shortly about some matters - some short matters with you.
I believe these are important matters, and their place is in the universities, and especially in the dear Amir Kabir University where these matters have to be put forward.
The student movement of our country is an [awakened] movement. The student movement of our country is an [awakened] movement - keen, and powerful - that has in its history attained at least 3 distinct hallmarks.
The first hallmark of the student movement is truthfulness and sincerity. Truthfulness and sincerity are the most important characteristics of a young student.
If ... truthfulness and sincerity is lost, the student movement will vanish without trace.
I remember from 54 (1975) that I entered university from the first day on [I was] in the middle of the student movement - shoulder to shoulder with the students of the
revolution - to this day.
There have been persons who in words and slogans shouting against America, have lost their voice (hoarsen)
But the moment they got their degree, opened their own company and earned some money and respect, they turned their back on their people.
The events concerning the Marxists, and the hypocrites
and the liberals, they were all of this kind.
The moment...
The moment... one of them got arrested, to get freed, they sold out the name of at least 40 revolutionary Muslim students to Sawak to be freed himself.
Before the victory of the revolution, let me tell you one of my memories.
In the year 55 (1976), at the university, there was a group called the 'university guards'.
This guard was composed of chosen trained people, with very sturdy bodies, trained. They were specially appointed
to oppress the students.
I remember one day, with one of my friends who was
an industrial science student, we entered the university in the morning. They had created two columns, these strong guards with electrical bats and big shields. We wanted to pass them. When we were mid route, the chief of this guard, someone named colonel Honari, stood there [and] said "you - stop!"
While my bag was full of... my bag was full of –
Pay attention to me - pay attention to me, and send out greetings to the Prophet (pbuh)
It was while my bag was full of revolutionary flyers against the American connected dictatorship and against America.
We didn't pay attention - many of you know the Poly-Technical University, from the western gate.
We moved [and] suddenly the chief of guard gave the order to attack. This friend of mine who was with me had a strong body. They hit him from behind in a way that he fell head first to the ground and his books flew up to the mosque of the polytechnic university - this means 15 meters away.
I ran away to get the flyers to a secure location.
That friend of mine was arrested - and spent 40 days in the black holes of Sawak, under torture to say why he didn't respect the guards halt orders.
We have tasted the dictatorship of the Shah. That is why we had [a] revolution.
And let them [know], to the end and for another thousand years, no person will be capable, should it be in the name of freedom, to create a dictatorship in this country.
The body of our people has been injured by the abusive relationships of the west and the east, and the fractions that are minions of America and [Russia.]
That is why in this revolution, or in another, nobody has the audacity or the power to install [a] dictatorship.
The first principle is truthfulness - being pure. The first principle...
The second principle is independence.
The student movement has its value because of its independence. We had this problem at the beginning of the
revolution and before it.
70 political groups were working at the university, every one of them attached to a party outside of the university. The speakers of the parties in the university are speaker of the parties. These aren't the speaker of the students or the student movement.
Experience has shown that parties or the best of parties see the students and the student movement just as a tool to attain their goals.
The noble student movement, that for the past 50 years in our country has created splendid results to show, has as a main pillar its independence and its truth seeking.
Another pillar of the student movement was its idealism - the high Godly ideals, the high human ideals, its belief in God and righteousness (was the nature of our students movement).
And in the 50 years, our student movement has never stepped back from its high Godly ideals.
And every time a grouping, in the name of the students movement, has walked astray of these ideals the true student body has swept them away.
Today, our people are upholding the flag of freedom, are upholding the flag of righteousness, are upholding the flag of Belief of God in all of the world. And our students are the upholders and broadeners of the revolutionary movement of our people.
My dear ones, friends have come. They said their words.
I don't have a hesitation, if there would have been time, every one of you would have many interesting things to say.
My belief is this: if parties and groups would leave the student body to themselves, the students won't have any problems with each other.
The university environment has to be pleasant, enjoyable and sincere and full of dialogue and friendship . . . the critical spirit of a student and is the secret of the development of the dear Iranian people.
The matters that have been brought up -by the friends - I will refer to some of them.
I will talk about two points too. And if then, there are questions, I will answer the written questions.
The dean of the mechanics faculty has asked that the scientific associations receive decisive support. This is [a] duty of the government.
Regarding the retirement of professors, two friends have brought up subjects on this matter.
In order that you know my opinion, Ahmadinejad’s opionion is this: a professorship at the university never ends.
The law that existed before this government, the number of retirements 83 in (2004) and 82 (2003) and 81 (2002) is several times higher than during 84 when this government has been at your service.
You have asked about the "money students", and again I tell you this Ahmadinejad is heavily opposed to "money students" and students that only become student because of money.
And the Ministry of Education will reverse this erroneous decision that has been wrongfully taken in the past, calmly and rightly correct it.
The dean of the philosophy faculty has said: the government is trying to bring the previous administrations under question.
The pride of this administration is that [until] today it has not taken a single step to question the steps of others.
But, others should not expect that this government, or to fight corruption, won't take the necessary steps to bring justice.
Then they say [a] “closed” environment has been created.
We see an example in this very gathering – “how oppressive” the environment is.
A small group of people bar the majority to profit of the time they've spent.
The pride of this administration is that is has created the most open political environment in the history of this country, so that people in the press and papers can say whatever they want and walk in freedom and then talk about how there is no freedom, but oppression.
And then, a point another friend brought up, about nuclear energy, which I believe is [a] very important discourse.
This dear friend said to me, be attentive that achieving nuclear energy doesn't result in the loss of the peoples wealth or in damaging the countries economy.
I want to, I want say a few sentences, so [that] you can see that - how important this matter is, and to what ends we have to invest.
Our dear Imam has left us with precious teachings. The Imam said that: when you see humanity’s enemies and their armies [oppose] something, know that that thing is beneficial to the people and stand your ground on that matter and defend it.
My question is this: we have to see, why the oppressor’s army - the corrupt (foul, unclean) America and Britain that even oppressing every nation and robbing the rights of every nation doesn't satisfy them.
America and Britain, who not only for a second, can see us live independently . . .
Why are they opposing so strongly [that] our people [attain] nuclear technology[?]
To the point that they are ready to disband all the rules they made themselves, the agencies they themselves created, the structures that they profited from for 60 years, have advertised them, to put them under their feet, to keep the Iranian people from mastering the nuclear technology.
Friends, the truth is this: the Iranian people mastering nuclear technology equals Iran sitting among the developed countries and transforming [into] a first world country.
Last year, when it was agreed to restart work and to move, America and its friends threatened us with a military strike.
Well, our people are courageous people. [A] nation that has such a youth doesn't fear any powers threatening them.
Naturally, when the people aren't afraid, its servants and children aren't afraid [either.]
Step by step, we moved on, moved forward, with the peoples backing, and they [Americans] stepped back.
I tell you my dear ones, I want to tell you some of the behind the scenes happenings of the nuclear matter.
But know that today, one year and 1-3 months later, step by step we moved forward and they, step by step, moved back.
And today - thank God - they cannot take any step against our people.
I am "little to all of you".
These sanctions they talk about resemble that saying that you heard - from afar, it’s like yoghurt.
When it approaches, it’s like 'douq' [a milk drink].
When you eat it, it's like water.
Before I tell you of those behind the scenes happenings I want to say two sentences.
Know that, thanks to God, the way to "nuclear perfection has been traversed. One final step remains, with your backing, with your firmness and the Iranian people, this step will be taken with authority, and on the 10th of Fajr the big nuclear celebration will take place.
And one sentence for these 2-3 European countries . . .
If until today, we had some doubts whether you were hostile to (against) our people, and you hid under the veil of anxiety of deviation and of nuclear armament, from this point on, your actions toward our people will be regarded as hostilities and will [be] answered as such.
But, behind the scenes, listen closely - the Americans and British know that they cannot match the Iranian people.
They want - They want, through psychological warfare and trying to divide the unity of our people, to drive forward their agenda.
Their own loudspeakers tell everyday, what is this nuclear energy that the Iranian government wants to spend so much money [on]?
If they go in that direction, this will happen, that will happen, the economy stops, construction stops, all of this is psychological warfare.
And I will tell you, steadfastness on the nuclear matter will
also contribute to a steady and growing economy.
It is unfortunate that a small group of people of the political groups, for gain of power, stand against this important national matter, and perpetuate America’s words in our country.
Thanks to God, until today, our people, other than your president - your servants – time and the time of some diplomats, spent some of their time bringing the nuclear
matter forward, our people, besides honour to achieve, haven't paid a single additional Rial.
And America and Britain, and their friends in this region should know that the Iranian people, without even the smallest investment will achieve this honorable goal very soon.
But behind the scenes, you know, America and Britain,
have rooted in our region for 150 years in the global economy, in the global media, in the international institutions, from the first day on . . .
Let me tell a memory . . . At the beginning of the revolution, one of our friends became a member of the "Monafeghin."
We talked to him on a session, said: that you - turned your back on the Imam, this pure man, this God-believing man, and turned your back on God, because there might be the probability that he might be wrong, and have become a complete servant to Mr. Rajavi, who himself is a servant of America and a worshipper of foreigners.
He... this is interesting, the interesting part still comes, Listen... He accepted, we were two people, he said what you say is correct. The Imam is a pure man, and a man of God, and is at the service of the world’s people and ideals.
We said to him: ok, we have one favor we ask, you went to that group - that's ok, but don't cut off your contact to us.
Let us talk every couple of weeks, a friendly chat . . .
His answer is very interesting - he said, the group, meaning the "Monafeg" told us not to talk to you, ‘don't listen to them, they might brainwash you.’
A free student listens to every talk, and then chooses, may he not - God forbid - find someone who puts cotton in his ears, so he won't be able to listen to a truth.
The Westerners, at first, thought that with a little pressure, we would step back. They figured [to] themselves: look, this new administration - the left-wing doesn't accept them and neither does the right-wing.
This administration is on its own. [If] we add a little pressure, [it] will collapse.
Some of them sat, and planned - what I'm telling you are facts (has proofs) - we will put on some political pressure, and within six months (they timed this, distributed them to CPM and networks) that this administration will be dismantled
Until Dey 84 (December 2005), they sent messages to some people that the conditions are favorable.
From outside and inside, the planning began, some powerful psychological warfare, more than 60 political figures asked for appointments with me.
They came to see me, with a lengthy introduction to say, “we like you, we think well of you, but we have received information from a very credible and correct source, flawless information that the Americans will launch on this specific date, and this targets, in the Islamic Republic, an attack, and one of this targets will be the seat of the leader, and the seat of government of the Islamic Republic.”
Let me... I listened to the talks completely. When they were done, I compared it with what the previous person and the person before and before said, and saw that the sources of all their sayings was one common society - and I smiled, and said thanks, and said thank you, [arabic] I thank you.
Then I said, if you have any contacts with the Americans...
Then I gave a message - tell them... I have a message... for the Americans:
Mister [not named], if you are in contact with the Americans, tell them that our people [knows your plans] and won't fall for your tricks.
We went to New York . . . We went to New York, to the Council on Foreign Relations. I had this in mind: To [take a probe] of the American leadership, to see [whether they are true men] who we are up to, and from now on how we should deal with them.
We went there. They put on an extensive planned show, and came to meet [dispute, wrestle]. You know that I sent a letter to Mr. Bush earlier.
You - dear youth of this country - know that when this letter was written, I - with clearness and trusting the matter to God, truly in my heart, I said: dear Lord, in this letter, for the chief of the occupation army and the upholder of its flag, give him guidance, open [soften] his heart to the truth, to belief [in God] and to justice.
But they didn't answer. Then we said, if you, for the leadership of the world, you have many things to say, we are ready to meet and talk at the United Nations.
They said: we can't. We said: if you can't, at least let your representatives come, and again they said: we can't.
At the Council on FR, this meeting happened - 28 people facing 1 person.
They had a [scheme], one by one they sent them to ask questions. It was obvious, their questions were around 2-3 matters.
The first question was this: why do you question israel and the holocaust?
They published the talk on their site. I want to tell you the circumstances. I answered to one of them who was a 60-70 year old man,
[probably: some student burning his picture]
So you can know what's going on - I see it - I will tell you. Before us, our ancestors in the fight for true freedom and independence and justice, like Martyr Rajayi had their life and body burned.
The pride of such as me is to attain that place and to burn for the advance-ment of this people.
But let the Americans know, if a thousand times, for the ideals of this people, our body burns, not one [inch] will we step back on our ideals.
This American man told me, you are not informed, the holocaust has no connection to israel. It's a matter of history, a thing of the past.
I told him, if this is a matter of the past, why do you -now- insist on its happening.
What is - in the current political state - the purpose to punish those who speak out against the holocaust, and throw them into prison?
We see right thru you, and see that you are all parts on strings of the global zionism - and we . . .
But let me - I don't want to tire you - well you all shout slogans at the same time and get tired.
I want to talk about justice . . .
A dear one asked: explain compassion and justice.
I want to say: compassion is this that all these groupings and parties that swear - unjustly - at me, Ahmadinejad likes [loves] them from the bottom of his heart.
And the great God is a seeing witness, that I want to... let them know that these things don't have any effect!
God is the witness, that I'm not willing, that they'd be hurt in any way, or that on the way to fulfillment of their potentials, any harm be done.
The main reason of many oppositions with Ahmadinejad is this, that Ahmadinejad has risen from the University and has kept his spirit and his want for justice.
Now that groupings, [students chant something]
Dear God, protect this courageous youth!
But let me say a couple sentences about justice . . .
You understand and know justice better than me, and feel it. Our progress, our advancement depends on justice.
Justice is the main pillar of a Muslim society, and the high ideals of God’s prophets.
Justice is the most difficult part in establishing a unity government.
Justice is so intricate that humans, to make it happen, many times, have to say "no" to his brother, his family, his friends, his coworkers and his comrades.
And has to stand against their many desires . . .
The first thing, to act justly is to stop [those that want more than they deserve] and their [wishes].
Unfortunately, due to various circumstances, some people, be it in the political field, or in the cultural field, or on an economical basis, have given themselves special rights.
Let me tell you, there are a group of people, who routinely, with just one phonecall, get unchecked credits of, 1000 Billion Toman (~1 Billion US $), from the peoples funds.
Today, when the government stands up to them, they say the government fights the private sector.
We aren't fighting the private sector, but we are against people thinking they own the country.
When we stand in the way of the monopolistic authorizations, they say we stand in the way of private enterprises, in this Damavand [location north of Tehran]
and this Lavasan [location north of Tehran].
Some people, when they were in power, at a time when the young, and the graduates of agriculture of Damavand, didn't even have 1 hectar of land to work [arabic] - to have a honorable job - some people went there and bought several 30 hectars, several 50 hectars of state property for free - against the law.
And before the - by law - imposed wait times, transferred the properties to themselves and built themselves mansions to go there on weekends and enjoy themselves.
Let them know that Ahmadinejad is against these acts and won't leave the scene with your shoutings.
Unfortunately, when we expose these people, their names appear in the newspapers, political groupings - and I believe with a very high probability, are linked and exchange themselves with them - start crying out loud, and hundreds of articles appear against the way the government fights against corruption.
Know that those who got used to, from east to west, to [steal], with one phone call thousands and thousands of hectars of this peoples land, and with credits of 1000 Billions, to build themselves kingdoms - these people, with only 100 Mlrd Toman (100Mil. $) get into markets, one day the banana market, next day the egg market, another day the real estate market, and in their mind, to stand against this administration ...
[some fireworks/cracker got off]
Please, keep your calm . . . Bullets, tanks, rifles have no effects anymore...
A free and mindful student knows his path, and won't leave the scene with the actions of some people pretending to be students.
Our students are awake and doesn't care for [foreigners doings].
[they are repeating the slogan]
Let me tell you of a memory of Martyr Modaress.
The dictator "Reza Khan"- the bully - sent a message to Martyr Modaress and said: ‘Mister, don't put your feet on my tail. And remove your foot from my tail.’
Martyr Modaress answered: ‘Please, tell us where your tail ends.’
There are some people, when you fight monetary corruption, they cry out;
When you [touch] the banks, they cry out;
When you [touch] foreign [connections], they cry out;
When you go after the theft of billions; they cry out.
Well, let us know, where are you, what are you?
Every time we see corruption, you cry out, and you say you cry out for the private sector or the economy.
But know that, thanks to God, a government that can stand up to you, will stand to the end.
Even in this 1 year and 2-3 months, against all odds and the hardships that our economy has endured, the economic indicators, the same people that kept track in the past, they measure today.
The economic indicators are all pointing up. There have been people that, as an objective, wanted to up the non-oil exports.
Know that this administration, when it [received] the economy, at that year, the non-oil exports were $7.2 Billion.
In the second part of the year, this administration brought it to $10.5 Billion.
If they had upped this, there would have been hundreds of talks and publications on this.
God willing, this administration, until the end, with the help of the exporters, will bring up the non-oil exports to $15 Billion.
So you know: this exports . . .
so you know its importance: 50% of our imports are intermediary products, meaning they need to be processed to be used or to be exported.
At that time, when the exports rose $1 Billion, the imports rose $1.5 - 2 Billion.
I'm telling you, last year and these 8 months, our imports have decreased about 0.7 %.
The administration’s handling of the economy is a knowledgeable and scientific one
We want to protect the agricultural sector. Last year, we gave a complete budget - nearly 1200 Billion Toman ($1.2 Billion) of our Budget were governments debts, owed to the farmers. That's from 76 (1997) until 284 (2005).
But this year, the government, for corn, for rice, for sugar beets, for [vegetable oil], and tea - until today, has paid the farmers.
This is something that, in the last 50 years, was the yearning of farmers. The government, with help of the banking sector, for the first time, has bought 11.4 million tons of corn and paid it immediately.
For the first time in one year, 200,000 rural homes have been renovated, and work on the second 200,000 have begun.
This administration’s work is based on . . . is based on science, is based on [appropriate] investments.
So you know the magnitude of this work - you know, from 82 (2004), an economic grouping, in order to [overturn] the wealth of this country, with large activities at the stock exchange, had created a bubble growth.
They pushed the value of a lot of stocks up, to buy, to sell and to put hundreds of Billion Tomans into their pockets.
When this administration started, at the end of 83 (2005), this [bubble] growth stopped, and a steep decline and a return to the true stock values started.
You might remember when this administration started, their yelling was against this administration, they said they are against the stock exchange, said: Ahmadinejad thinks
the stock exchange is gambling, he's against it.
Look: the SE is in chaos, it is being bankrupted. Some who were more political brought in the nuclear matter - at which point our stock exchange index reached 9400.
Let me tell you – it’s been a couple of months that the SE is at ease, those who know economics know that a true SE, a [healthy] SE, a SE where there [is] no insider trading, where all information is openly available, where the information [is] truthful, this SE will be the pulse of the market.
Know that, thanks to God, your SE is today the most active market of the region. It's a calm SE, with a steady natural growth. The median trade volume is a daily 20 Billion Toman [$20 Million US]
And right today, has broken the 9785 mark, which is a record mark.
[‘Ahmadi, Ahmadi, we support you!’]
[indistinct] said in the newspaper, saying he is a economics scientist, that: ‘yes, while this administration has been elected, $200 Billion have been brought out of the country.’
I sent a message: ‘[Mister], either you don't know what a billion is, or don't know what a dollar is, or you have no idea of economics.’
According to statements of the central bank, last year, where we had, $10.5 Billion non-oil exports, $12 Billion have entered and have been paid to the central bank of the Islamic Republic.
Today, this is where the foreign currency comes from.
Today they say: foreign investments have been brought down during this administration.
Let me read a couple of numbers, so you can judge under what administration it was stagnant and when it became active.
[In] 82 (2003), the sum of foreign investments was $392 million US.
[In] 83 (2004) it was ...
Excuse me, that was something else.
[I]n 82 (2004): $1.358 Billion US.
[I]n 83 (2004): $2.7 Billion US.
[I]n 84 (2005): $4.310 Billion US.
And in the first eight months of 85 (2006) foreign investments will be $7.2 Billion US.
And this is apart from investments into the oil sector.
In the first 1 year and 2-3 months of this administration, contracts on $11.5 Billion (US) of foreign investment have been signed.
Apart from investments in the oil industry, they say this administration has spent the currency reserves. Unfortunately some say, that because of their foreign policies, they lost their way.
The government - without approval of the congress - cannot take a single dollar from the currency reserve.
But, what this administration did was: I said before the [development] potential, the [money] that the congress approved for development, we - with your permission - took it and spent all of it in the first 6 months on that.
Let me... With your permission, the government, God willing, will soon start up the e-commerce in this country, which is an honour.
Regarding privatisation, from 72 (1993) on until 84 (2005) - when this administration took over, the number of privatizations was a little less than 3000 Billion Toman ($3 B. US).
From 84 (2005), when this administration took over, until today, in less than 6 months, has given the people 2300 Billion Toman ($2.3 Bil.) of shares.
But, the difference between our stocks and theirs is that we turned the stock into 'justice' stock and started giving profits to the poorest of our society.
But before us, the privatised factories, were handled / bought with / by insiders and sold for 1/20th or 1/50th of its value, they bought it - and against their promises - [razed] the factory, laid off the workers, and each day outside of the governments seat, we have these workers whose [rights were taken] demonstrating.
Let them know that I am against these practices, this is not privatization - this is raiding the peoples properties.
But we have another [transfer].
God willing, the [144] industries, like steel, some of the banks, some of the insurances, some of the petrochemical and oil companies, some of the copper and aluminum companies are being prepared and they soon start at the [true] stock exchange - and they will be freely distributed and we'll return the peoples rights.
[Let me tell] two memories and another point and [I'm done].
A memory, one important political person, chief of a large and powerful country met with me last year.
He [asked] me, what are you doing on the nuclear matter?
I said: we will [stand our ground].
He asked: what will you do about the nuclear bomb?
I said: we don't need no nuclear bomb.
He asked: so what should we do?
I answered: we don't expect anything from you, If you think you have a [friends duty] act on it.
He asked me: Mr. Ahmadinejad, you say you don't want an atomic bomb, you won't step back and you don't ask us for help. Who has your back that you're so [confident]?
I told him, my confidence comes from the Iranian people and its courageous youth.
Heres] the second memory - when I asked about the complicated, [concealed], and dishonest [matter] of the holocaust, and said what the people of this region are thinking, and spoke of the palestinians [burden], 'suddenly I saw the American newspapers starting to [talk against me].
In one of these papers, in just one article, were 16 accusations [indignities] against me. It said, this “Ahmadinejad is a dictator. He's a murderer. He's an [executioner].”
But, everyone knows that the dictatorship is America and its minions.
But, the rest of the sentence, dear student, the reason for this opposition with [Ahmedinejad’s] administration is this, that it - against all odds [in work] - stands up for its ideals, in the foreign [field].
It stands against a vast [army of unjustice] and internally it stands against those political and economical [gluttons].
The reason is this: Ahmadinejad is a student [truthseeker] and will stay a student until the end.
My message to the university is this: freedom, truthfulness, independence [standing up for beliefs] and [idealism].
The university environment should be joyful and full of empathy, which it, thanks to God, is.
Be friends, know that Ahmadinejad, toward those insulting him, won't keep it in his heart, and is not - in the smallest amount - reproaching.
I too [like you], and love every single one of you.
Let me tell a joke and we're done.
Somebody said to me, some of these students are [three starers].
I said: so they have been [indistinct], they were [lifted].
I - here - from the dean of the university, the teachers and my coworkers, ask you: [improve] the university environment, so that it'll be a friendly, brotherly, joyful...
Should it not become, God forbid,
One young [student] who - today - spoke his feeling, in his pureness - God forbid, nobody has the right to [affront] him with it.
These are all our children, our youth. My own son, is surely now, somewhere between you and is mechanics student. I love you all as much as I love [him].
May God [keep you all safe].
The matters that you have written about: the dorms and the university environs and science projects, are correct.
Your profs talked to me about it.
Let me add this[], in the year 54 (1975), the university admission system was changed. Every university received applications. I applied for 5 universities, and it is probably present at the archive of the Amir Kabir university [this one].
One of the universities where I have been accepted was the very honorable Amir Kabir university. But, due to personal reasons, our house was near the Poly-Technic university, I decided to go there. But, my name has been forever inscribed as a student of the Amir Kabir university.
God willing you and your professors, every student, be [happy], healthy and proud.

Thanks to those who took the time and effort to transcribed the entire speech with questions and all.
We are building a new tomorrow, a better tomorrow. All of us. And that is something to be proud of.
Always keep up the good work!
when I heard this speech I thought this has to go out and everybody having those ahmadinejad is hitler fantasies need to see this.
Also he answers so much of the things the press said about him from being against the stock exchange to being the brutal dictator putting everyone against him in prison.
And then you can see how much psychological warfare is truly going on there.
And thanks to the wakeupfromyourslumber crew for giving me the opportunity to post this, and thanks for editing my post making it a lot easier to read !

Bush Says U.S. Would Defend Israel Militarily
Thursday February 2 2006
[...]
"Israel is a solid ally of the United States. We will rise to Israel's defense, if need be. So this kind of menacing talk is disturbing. It's not only disturbing to the United States, it's disturbing for other countries in the world, as well," Bush said.
Asked whether he meant the United States would rise to Israel's defense militarily, Bush said: "You bet, we'll defend Israel."
The Jewish state sought some sort of military alliance with the United States shortly after it was founded in 1948, but was rebuffed by several presidents, partly out of fear of offending Arabs. Since then, Israel has established the principle of securing its own defense, including a nuclear deterrent, backed by large weapons sales by the United States. [...]

Honestly, I read those pieces and grew despondent.
I've been saying this since shortly after they committed their heinous atrocities in Lebanon and Gaza, this summer and everyone thought I was going off the deep end.
Sadly, israelis have gone off the deep end a long, long, time ago. And no one should expect anything but sheer madness from these people who call themselves 'chosen'.
You don't have to be despondent. It was Jesus who said "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Inspired the title of this site.
You're among the few (perhaps tens of thousands or even a few millions out of six billion people on this planet Earth) who know the truth. The Founding Fathers as well as philosopher-essayist greats like Voltaire have incredibly informed mind and they saw the truth which is a gift from God as an antidote to willful ignorance like most people prefer.
The Enlightenment movement served the purpose. It had a profound impact on the creation and development of the new republic of U.S. as well as other nations that undergo major change.
Understandable about the ignorance and apathy of the populace in general, because they *hate* to think and just want to live very happy without being disturbed by the barrage of grim news of violence and mayhem, like local media tv regularly display.
The video with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad addressing the students is an amazing sight. This is Persian nationalism in display and it is quite noble in pride of patriotic fervor.
I never saw that in Americans, though, aside from belligerent Toby Keith jingoistic types. Big difference in education of past history.
