It seems to me that the Neo Cons (Zionists) in the State Dept. and Cheney's office have taken over, with their boy Benjamin Netanyahu, in trying to bring Olmert down . . .
Olmert was obviously not told the IAF was going to bomb the UN peacekeepers in Lebanon, he didn't know about the million cluster bombs, and he certainly didn't know about the attack yesterday in Ramallah. They are working on his demise, and he seems to have no control.
Israel's Likud hardliner Netanyahu is itching to get back in the saddle, the army likes him, the Mossad likes him, and the boys in the State Dept. and Cheney's office - Hadley, soon Negroponte, and Wurmser, not to mention Elliot Abrams - will certainly be cheering him along.
Probably Rice too, since she's been working her ass off on getting rid of Hamas and Haniyah for six months, and nothing happens.
Netanyahu is their man - he can rein in the Palestinians and shut them up, even if he has to let a lot of blood flow - and they want to move quickly, before some peace deal is made or Bush's term runs out.
He'll make sure the civil war happens in Palestine, the Mossad will get in the middle and Hamas will be blamed for a a lot of stuff, and it'll be easy.
Sarid writes that Olmert should leave... which is obviously the plan.... only when he does, will Netanyahu be right there to take over? Because really, there IS no one else!!!
And then we are going to see a REAL mess!
Of course "the most Jewish Congress ever," as Rosner writes in HaAretz, will go along with whatever happens, so the future does not look very bright for anything but more bloodshed, occupation, settlements.
The $86 million that Congress is sending Abbas will fuel the civil war, which will speed up all the horror. They all want Abbas because he's weak, and will sell the Palestinians out.
This is the American way of democratising the world - it sucks!
