Mike Gravel, with fearless courage, condemns AIPAC in PBS interview

It doesn't get better than this.

We have a man running for president who has the titanium balls to directly refer to the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee, the unregistered foreign agent, as the lobbying firm that controls every nook and cranny of Washington body politic and dictates U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East and Central Asia -- to the stunned incredulity of the interviewer who in turn tried to patch up and move the discussion along.

Mike Gravel is a true American, the rare statesman who STANDS UP TO State of Israel and its corruptible & vile influence on the U.S. that continues to affect the whole world, the effect of which will be obvious when Iran or Syria's sovereignty is violated by external force.

Human civilization and life on Earth are at the mercy of Israel's venomous, blood-thirsty machinations. Zionist (not Jewish as MSM propaganda proclaim) State of Israel must be contained before it destroys the U.S. and the world!

PBS Newsnight with Jim Lehrer interview with Democratic Presidential candidate Sen. Mike Gravel, 17 min
RAY SUAREZ: You're 77. Why put yourself through this?

MIKE GRAVEL: I love my country, and I love the human race. And I want to see a change made in the leadership of our country so we can do more to protect the human race....With respect to my country going to war when there's no reason to go to war, killing human beings, I'm ashamed of this.

I'm ashamed of the leadership we have, whether it's Democratic leadership or Republican leadership. That's the reason why I'm in.

* * *

Look what we're trying to do with Iran right now. Last week, the Lieberman resolution -- he's the guy that wrote the resolution with Iraq and killed over 3,000 Americans and a million Iraqis. And now he comes forward with another resolution, and the leadership of the Democratic Party in the Senate doesn't even have the brains or the judgment to recognize what he's doing. Sanctions on the Republican Guard? They already have sanctions. The U.N. passed them in March, Resolution 1747. What is the game they're playing right now to have sanctions? I mean, this was AIPAC that put Lieberman up to do this. This is disaster...

RAY SUAREZ (incredulous): You're saying that the national legislature of this country, rather than doing the will of the citizens of the United States, passed that Iran resolution, sanctioning the Republican Guard, because of the American-Israeli Political Action Committee?

MIKE GRAVEL: Wait a second. They'll be some information coming out about how this thing was drafted. So the answer is yes, the short answer.

If we touch Iran and they respond, you're talking about, in the minimum, a world depression, because the oil industry will just get shut down at the Straits of Hormuz. That's the minimum.

The worst that will happen will be a nuclear exchange, and I don't think we'll ever be able to contain once they start shooting bombs at each other nuclear devices. This is what's at stake with this resolution. And it's the height of immorality, irresponsibility, and the United States Senate, with the Democrats in charge, voted for the passage of this resolution. It doesn't get any worse than that, Ray.

Thanks for sharing!

I love this guy! He's so amazing.

Americans so desperately need someone like him to represent our interests - as human beings - NOT as states or corporations.

"Money" has no value - people do.

I think you are being unfair to the interviewer here.. he in fact gave Gravel the opportunity to expand on his allegation about AIPAC manipulating congress. Sure he souned somewhat startled at this revelation but he didn't debate him and repeated the claim saying, so you are saying that the congress rather than serving the American public is instead listening to the American Israeli , bla bla.. in fact Suarez explains what AIPAC is, by using the full name instead of the initials. So this was not a coverup.

gravel is in fact the one that moved on and sort of brushed it under the rug with "the short answer is yes." He said more information is forthcoming about this, and I'd like to know what that info is.

let's keep things accurate -- the media is not always the bad guy.. Suarez did an excellent job in my opinion.

I should stick to facts. Sorry for the hyperbole.

..i like Mike Gravel more than Ron Paul, because Ron wants a return to the gold standard, which is likely another planned disaster, just in case there's any suckers..

..they say Ron has some tricks up his sleeve, that he will declare that indeed there is a white elephant in the room, by the smell of the dung; but i believe it is MIKE GRAVEL who will shovel the shait, and evict the elephant (all criminal traitors) from government office.

ear off...LOL...this guy will never be president in US because he is too good for that nation.
What he claimed to do if elected would turn US to 180 degrees around current state of affairs. I sad reality most US citizen see him as a threat to their way of life (corrupted). They need somebody who will talk good about peace and make sure to continue to exploit third world countries to slow down tumbling of US standard of living. Most people just don't care and they even get annoyed when someone reminds them of how beautiful (not) and just (not) US is. What he said would be great but I think we past that point of return. Changes that he would like to make would kill him before he could take an oath in DC even if elected.

"Let there be Light!"

Whoa! DBS at was definitely right about Mike Gravel in his broadcast of today. And, sadly, he was also undoubtedly correct about Ron Paul as well (unless Paul is playing possum (which possibility I believe he pointed out as well).

I'm going to so I can write him (possibly) soon as I post this comment. Thank you Nepos Libertas for the illuminating blog.
