Iranian FM: Zionists now in Sheer Despair

TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said that the Zionist regime is performing vicious acts in Palestine out of desperation.

"Sixty years after its formation, the Zionist regime is in sheer desperation," Manouchehr Mottaki said at Tehran's Mehrabad International Airport Friday morning. He made the remarks upon return from the 62nd UN General Assembly session in New York.

"The Palestinians and Middle East nations pose a considerable challenge to the Zionist regime. The Zionist regime only has the atrocities it commits towards Palestinians, Lebanese and Syrians to pride itself with," Mottaki also noted.

"The supporters of the Zionist regime, above all the US, provide all-out military and political support for the regime. Yet, Hezbollah movement inflicted a humiliating defeat on the regime and dispelled the myth of its invincibility."

"Those states which support the Zionist regime are now facing dire problems in the Middle East," he continued. The foreign minister stated that the US has called for the so-called Mideast Peace Conference in order to shift its responsibility of supporting the Zionist regime to the global community, which proves the US does not have the necessary influence in the region.
