Gay male parents (one of whom is a licensed psychiatrist!) put the dog collars on the twin daughters to show off at ADULT-oriented annual fetish festival Folsom Street Fair (semi-NSFW official web link to FAQ for its admission of accompanied minors) in San Francisco. 2005 [X] Press reported the disturbing phenomenon.
Personally I do not care about consenting homosexual practice in North America, that's a private matter. This is my libertarian principle.
However, I make exception to this unbelievable event that literally parallel the Biblical story of Lot & his family trapped in the sea of depravity at Sodom & Gomorrah, which was eventually destroyed by the act of God's wrath. I find the festival event extremely objectionable that reflect the negative image of America.
No wonder the late First Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Khomeini called America "Great Satan".
Until a day ago, I have never heard of Folsom Street Fair. Upon further reading, I was shocked to discover that while San Francisco Chronicle and other local media outlets (tv news) reported what appear extreme but tame judging the sanitized language of the media propaganda, Folsom Street Fair in fact harbor the innate depth of utter depravity practice in the open air contrary to California public decency law. Even police officers volunteering as security look the other way while the public exhibition of degeneracy is practiced, such as exhibitionism, sadomasochism by flogging and other types of sexual act better left unmentioned here. I'm surprised that judging the covert reporters' description of law enforcement officers' general apathy towards wide-ranging violation of the existing public decency ordinance, the ultimate illegal acts of depravity are not practiced, which again is better left unmentioned since even the thought of immoral behavior is sickening.
The casually dressed yuppie parents pushing baby strollers and elderly citizens visit the festival as curious on-lookers with less concern to the psychological impact of moral degeneration in the exposed environment. Accompanied children allowed at Folsom Street Fair as speculators to witness the explicit nudity, consensual torture and sodomy with the exception of Over 21 Only liquor/beer recreation areas?!?!
The organizers of Folsom Street Fair have the unrelenting hostile attitude towards moderate Christianity (I do not mean fundamentalist Christian, but rather humble Christian religion in many denominations - Catholic, Protestant, Methodist, Lutheran, Episcopal, Anglican, Seventh-Day Adventist, Mormon, etc as well as Deism) with the promotional advertisement (semi-NSFW picture of the ad) that parody Leonardo Da Vinci's most famous mural. The characters are composed of black leather-clad sadomasochists and drag queens pretending to be Jesus (leather gear-clad half-naked African man in center) and the Apostles. The bread and wine are replaced with obscene sex aid devices.
Naturally, the blasphemous parody (which IMO denigrates Da Vinci's intent of respectful tribute to Jesus and his followers) offended the Christian organizations enough to complain to the major sponsor of the festival Miller Brewing Company. Miller Brewing office employees feebly apologize, claiming Miller supports the freedom of expression in promoting "diversity".
Elected Congressional 8th District of California (S.F.) representative and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (the woman who flatly refuses to allow impeachment of Bush & Cheney) laughed off the complaint by dismissing it as "harmless". This explains her position as a Zionist hardliner.
Militant homosexual, fetish and sadomasochist practitioners may have free reign to mock Christianity without fear of reprisal, in public blasphemy with some booths offering the obscene sex aid items in the image of the revered Christian iconographies. But as the brave (presumably right-wing) S.F. covert photographer-documentarian 'zombietime' points out, the exhibitors sell the items that mock and denigrate the particular religion with gleeful contempt except for Islam, which they fear on pain of death.
I do not like Michelle Malkin as a paranoid wingnut, but she did a commendable job reporting on the blasphemous and perverted event in her well thought-out blog entries with moral indignation. She condemns Miller Brewing Company and the misguided parents who bring children to the freak-and-geek festival.
There is a long photo gallery showing the array of depraved acts (in blurred form) by the courageous local photographer who uses the alias "zombie". I will not link to this because it's shamefully obscene enough, but his gallery comes with a preface of warning before agreeing to enter the gallery by clicking on the agree bar. I suggest right-clicking to disable (block) images and read the reporter's descriptions left to imagination, however perverse.
Catholic Online web site have the selected "tame" photographs of Folsom Street Fair participants, but this is only the tip of the iceberg (NSFW). Zombietime have a stronger graphic documentation elsewhere.
A side note, I last visited San Francisco on the business trip in April 2004. I saw homeless panhandlers literally everywhere, even sleeping next to busy intersections. I saw X-rated club entertainment on almost every two blocks. I was even solicited by the outside nightclub bouncers dressed like Mafia urging me to come in to see the strippers. I ignored them. I made note of visiting the Fisherman's Wharf to tour the history museum and riding the famous trolley with the groups of laid back Japanese tourists. After I left, I thought I will not visit that weird city (even though I'm a pretty liberal person). Now I know why San Francisco is the modern-day Sodom.
UPDATE The shocking story posted in the forum on the review of Folsom Street Fair by "Pippi L." on her childhood experience of going to the local S.F. church only to be exposed to the parade of perverts years ago.

On the other hand, American gay conservative web site formally condemn the organizers of Folsom Street Fair and its policy of admitting minors as well as irresponsible parents who bring their children to be subjected to abomination. Good for them.
The only thing here that is any way wrong is getting the kids involved. Exposing people to this sort of thing at a young age distorts the mind and creates very fucked up people. As for the rest - mocking Christianity? Open sodomy? Who cares, US has the right to free speech and if people want to sodomize each other, its their business.

I think that we should pin this on gay people as a gay thing, we should see it as a child abuse thing, which happens with both straight and gay couples. These two men do not know to bring up a child, but this is no reflection on gay people as a whole. Much like a straight parent that allows their minor to watch straight pornography. I for one am glad that there are parts of the world free enough to allow these sorts of fairs and despite not being gay, I find them intriguing and an interesting peek at how the human brain can function (also its kinky ;) ). Secondly, I think its a shame people use the term blasphemy in a secular world. Free speech is the freedom to insult, and if you allow yourself to be insulted so easily thats your own issue. Even if I was a strong Christian, I would disregard the ruling on blasphemy because I would realise that the words of those who blaspheme (sp?) do not matter to me.
You have right to your opinion and I respect that right but your opinion reminds me of Lot's wife that had similar opinion of gays in her freedom loving city knows as Sodom. I am not a Christian but with views like yours neither are you. This is just one issue where Muslims are perceived to be extreme and condemned for like in case of Iran. Don't get me wrong, there was and is homosexuality under the reign of Muslims but not openly in public. Gays are protected from punishment of Muslims state as long as they keep it private without witnesses same as adulterers. But if they dare go out in public with this abomination they sure are liable for punishment. Our Prophet warned us that we will not be destroyed as a nation as long as we do not legalize homosexuality and adultery. Well as for SF and LA they are very reminiscent of Sodom and Gomorrah and guess what they sit on very unstable ground (Andreas fault line). Just watch what will happen to those twin cities. While you are free to disagree with my view on blasphemy and homosexuality, what my main points are child abuse through sexualization of children for the purpose of exhibiting in the public at the fetish fair, militant homosexuality in open practice in flouting public decency laws -- reveling in lewd behavior in open air on public street -- and militant atheism (as far as I tell from the booth salespeople hawking sex aid products in image of Christian iconography considered sacred by devoted Christians) in open blasphemous attitude.
Blasphemy is permissible in North American society, through it requires a thoughtful approach. Because if blasphemy becomes acceptable in a more militant societal outlook, then it leads to moral degradation and lack of respect for the sovereign affair when the world looks at America as the melting pot of open-mindedness and bigotry.
Blasphemy is bigoted but it's a counter reaction to Christian point of view, often fundamentally militant in anti-gay movement.
While we're on the subject of blasphemy, it's ironic the militant homosexuals and atheists (labels as far as I can tell from the photos at the fair) do not dare attempt to blaspheme Moslem prophets and belief to the point of vulgarity for the purpose of provocation. They are certain that doing so in the open will lead to receiving fatwa and get killed in the process by someone like a few "The Satanic Verse" translators were injured or killed years in early 90's.
I will have a little iota of respect for them if they DARE to mock Islam in blasphemous terms and vulgar imagery (on pain of injury and death by militant Moslems defending their revered religion), but I DO NOT condone and advocate blasphemy of any kind towards the common religion.
Because doing so in persistent practice in contempt of respect and public decency will mean atheists and gays are perceived by the majority of morally upholding American as "lunatic fringe" and therefore subject to continuous prejudice, discrimination and (uncommon) denial of human rights. This is why non-militant gays and humble agnostics/atheists routinely receive ill treatment wherever they are in certain regions ascertained "not liberal" because of the flagrant disregard for anything decent in gross misconduct -- at least in public.
Again, keep the Goddamn practice in private homes.
Militant homosexuality, on the other hand, is unabashedly perverse. I hardly understand the point of committing lewd behavior in public. I can differentiate between normal gays and militant gays, and I consider militant gays to be mentally ill as degenerates. Militant homosexuals should keep their practice in the privacy of their homes and in the exclusive clubs, not in open air for the speculator public to witness.
To reiterate, I pointed out putting dog collars on twin daughters (toddler) equals sexualization in fetishizing children as the object of interest/desire in morbid exhibition to reflect the gay parents' claim of "open-minded diversity". This is child abuse in plain sight.
God help these children adjust to appropriate mindset and lifestyle INSTEAD of being maladjusted in dysfunctional way of life because of base customs and rearing style of the gay parents (aside from the inept, depraved, abusive and neglectful straight parents).

Haywire, lets assume you are male and have two teenage daughters, standing in the line with wife to buy movie tickets. You hear two men behind you talking about your daughters, and its not pretty at all.
What would you do? Leave them alone to enjoy their freedom of speech? or, turn around and punch one of them on the nose so hard that the other one can't think of anything but help him?
I can imagine most men will go route no. 2. Even if they sue you, most likely they'll lose.
My point here is that 'freedom of expression' is meaningful ONLY if you can take 'responsibility for the consequences'. Recklessly using your freedom of expression and walking away is what you should do in the jungles or deserts where no body else is around.
Every where, societies function and hold together because of a collectively sustained balance in perceptions and norms, or their 'value system'. I can only agree with moving this 'value system' forward only one step at a time, while one leg is still in the old value system. That is why "revolutions" are promoted by those who plan to take over a society with no value identity.
The question here is not if they have a right to expression or not. The question is WHAT are they expressing? Is this art? Is this a fashion show? Is this a family outing and picnicking? Is this a street theater project? Are they professional actors?
Or are they promoting a life style? To whom? To heterosexuals?
None of the above makes sense. They have NOTHING to express. All they do is to provoke the general public. They are the same bar trashes that you see in a neonazi gathering. Have no family, friends, or life. They will do anything for a 100 bucks a day. Listen to the neonazis, they have NOTHING to say either. Their only mission is to make us feel our society is falling apart, we can't count on each other, we are hopeless.
These creeps are not what we should be concerned about. Their number is negligible and if nobody pays them, they prefer to stay home, smoke, drink, and watch a movie.
