Call for Jews to stop calling Jesus a bastard
A senior American cardinal has asked Jews to reconsider descriptions of Jesus as a "bastard" in exchange for a softening of traditional Catholic prayers calling for Jews to be converted to Christianity.
The controversial comments, by Cardinal Francis George of the Archdiocese of Chicago, concern a prayer said during Easter celebrations by the small number of parishes or priests who celebrate a particular form of Good Friday mass.
Those version of Good Friday prayers calls for the congregation to pray for Jews to be converted to Christianity.
What about those portions of the Talmud that say much nastier things about JC?
Don't hold your breath waiting for the Tamud to change in our lifetime.
Jews have refused to accept Jesus as their promised Messiah and tried to kill him like several other Prophet's before him. With this attitude they incurred God's wrath upon them which is recorded in the history of their nation.
They were really chosen people at one point in time but they have lost that status after several serious rebellions against God and His Prophets. With their rejection and conspiracy to eliminate Jesus son of Mary they have passed the red line and God cursed them and depraved them of His favor that they enjoyed for a long time. He saved Jesus from their clutches and moved Prophethood to the sons of Ishmael with the revelation of the Last Testament (Holy Qur'an).
Jews were infuriated with this Divine decision and vowed to destroy Islam from its inception. Holy Qur'an clearly states that the staunchest enemies of Muslims are Jews (Yahood) and that closest friends are humble Christians that fear God. Jews are still waiting for their Messiah (King) and God will send them Antichrist to punish them for their unabashed insults against the blessed virgin Mary and her blessed son Jesus. These two are a miracle of God for the worlds and high above abominable slanders of their enemies. Those who insult Jesus and his blessed mother are like those who spit on stars for their dirty saliva will only fall on their stupid faces.
Our Prophet informed us that God will send Jesus back at the end times to destroy the Antichrist and his supporters who by the large part will be unrepentant Jews. They refused God's true Messiah (Jesus) so God will give them false Messiah (Messiah Dajjaal) for this is how God treats ungrateful and arrogant people.
Its sad to see how much Christians are concerned with Jewish opinion about their faith that they even fear praying for their salvation so not to insult their "choseness". It is God's sole right to honor or dishonor group of people or nations for He knows best what each of them believes and does. However having said the above I believe that some Jews will be saved and converted when Jesus returns. He will clarify both to Jews and Christians truth about his nature and relation to God. I wish he comes soon so that we may not need blogs like this one.
It is courageous of the Cardinal to bring up the issue, but whether it is truly Christian is another matter.
As he will know Jesus came to earth to complete the law and not to abolish the law, and his whole mission - apart from brief, but important encounters with the Pharisees - was to make the Jews repent. We know the result, that he was lifted up on the cross, he died and that he rose again.
During Jesus' trial there was absolutely no indication that he said something like: Forget about God being my Father, just stop calling me names ...
Name calling and insults cannot hurt Jesus, and should not make Christ less of a Lord for true believers.
Therefore, as a Christian I see no point is offering a deal where the Jews moderate themselves in their description of Jesus (whilst maintaining their hatred for him) against Christians abstaining from praying for them!
On the contrary, I believe that it is useful that as many people as possible know about the attitude to Christ as held by the Jewish Defamation League.
This inspired me. If only there were some way to make the Christians know that their real friend is Islam and that the synagogue of satan has pitted Islam and Christianity against each other.
When I think on this wisdom, it becomes apparent that so very few qualify as "humble Christians" that that statement is now perceived as an oxymoron. Most have forgotten the humble part, yet retain the Christian label.
True Christians must be humble. Churchians are proud and haughty, brash and ready to shed blood. Flocks led by judas goats to the slaughter. Churchians are what they are, not Christians.

The only difference is that Sunni Muslims don't believe the Mahdi is the 12th Imam, otherwise they have nearly the same prophecies.

Btw, I don't see why Jews are insulted if Christians pray that they convert to Christianity. Don't they appreciate that from a Christian's point of view, that's the kindest thing they can pray for regarding them?

12 Imams of Shiite creed are revered by the Sunnis because they were all upright and noble descendants of the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and it is incumbent on all Muslims to love and respect family and descendants of the Prophet of Islam. Only ignorant Muslim or heretic would think ill of 12 Imams.
As for the twelfth Imam there are some Sunni scholars who accept that 12th Imam would be Mahdi (e.i. ar. the one is rightly guided and who guides others) so on that issue of Mahdi there is insignificant difference of opinion but all Sunnis do believe that he will be direct descendant of the Prophet through his blessed daughter Fatima and her blessed son Hassan as there are authentic Prophetic traditions (hadith) confirming this fact.
BTW, in Islam, Jesus has title Roohullah (The Spirit of God) because he did not have human father as his inception was initiated with the breath of the holy spirit (roohul qudduus) also known as Jibriil or Gabriel. This is Islamic stance on Jesus ('Isaa) apart from additional belief in his second coming and him being closest of all Prophets to our Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
Our Prophet forewarned us of his second coming and mission and our duty to pledge him full allegiance when he returns. Imam Mahdi will be in charge of uniting Muslim world and Jesus will clear up disagreements about him between the three heavenly religions.
That would be a glorious age here on earth filled with peace, love and justice for all. May God give us strength to persist on the right path and be of help to Jesus and Mahdi (peace be upon them).
