Carter calls Cheney a "disaster"
Jimmy Carter today denounced Cheney as a "disaster" for the country and a "militant" who has had an excessive influence in setting foreign policy.
Carter said Cheney has been on the wrong side of the debate on many issues, including Syria.
(Cheney is pushing israeli propaganda that Syria is building nuclear weapons with North Korean help.)
"Cheney’s a militant who avoided any military service of his own," Carter told the BBC World News America.
"You know he's been a disaster for our country. He's been overly persuasive on Bush, and quite often he's prevailed."
In a newspaper interview in May 2007, Carter called the Bush administration the "worst in history" in international relations.
Carter commended Condoleezza Rice.
"I'm filled with admiration for Condoleezza Rice in standing up to Cheney," Carter said.
(Rice is not “standing up” to anyone. She merely thinks the Cheney-israeli propaganda about Syrian nukes won’t convince the American peasantry.)
