Happy Eid Al-Fitr to you too!

Don't eat too much this morning! :)

I went outside earlier, and noticed that the stars were brighter than usual. I didn't realize there is a new moon until your post reminded me. :)

Those videos are very sweet offerings! Thanks for your affection.

Salaam.

Is Eid tomorrow (Friday?) or is it Saturday?

I hope that Muslims manage to stay united this year.

Thanks for sharing the videos!

Thanks guys I hope you enjoy it. I've lost about five kilos during Ramadan AZ but I don't eat much in other months either, skinny guy.

New moon is tonight because it has set down about ten minutes after the sunset. Some people will pray Eid on Saturday. Thats ok with me as long as they avoid arguing about it. Southern hemisphere can have new moon before northern. And also we are ahead of the west, in time I mean.

As I said we have differences between certain parts of world in north and south.

Khanverse link below shows the date of the new moon in New York so Eid in US is on Saturday with Ramadan length of 30 days.

http://www.almanac.com/rise/results.php?month=10&day=12&year=2007&zipcod...

However downunder we have 29 days of Ramadan.
Below is the sunset times for Melbourne(I highlighted first day on which sun precedes the moon):

Wednesday, 10 October 2007
Set 18:32

Thursday, 11 October 2007
Set 18:33

Friday, 12 October 2007
Set 18:34

For Moon it goes like this:

Wednesday, 10 October 2007
Set 17:43

Thursday, 11 October 2007
Set 18:41

Friday, 12 October 2007
Set 19:41

Happy Eid to everyone....

In my city the Eid is on Friday, tomorrow.

One of my favorite quotes:

Qur'an 81: 1-14 - "When the sun is overthrown. And when the stars fall. And when the hills are moved. And when the camels big with young are abandoned. And when the wild beasts are herded together. And when the seas rise. And when souls are reunited. And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked: For what sin she was slain. And when the pages are laid open. And when the sky is torn away. And when hell is lighted. And when the Garden is brought nigh. (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready."
