Mayan Prophecy forecast the End of the World in 2012 as Planet X approach the Solar System
First of all, I subscribe to the Mayan prophecy that predicts the possible end of human life (and almost all Earth life) to occur on either December 21 or 23, 2012. I'm a believer for several years now.
Why? Because the Mayan civilization had the incredibly advanced knowledge of astronomy. This is not a warning but a precaution of what is to come in the near future, and it doesn't bode well for the rest of humanity and living species.
I sincerely hope that a small number of worthy humans will survive, but it will come with difficult trials of life after the Apocalypse, especially foraging for edible food and drinkable liquid to prevent starvation.

I know it sounds weird bordering on paranoia, but researching Nibiru (aka Planet X) provide the convincing evidence that it may be coming.
New York Times [1] and Washington Post articles are the reason I am convinced. NASA knows it but they apparently don't want to trigger the mass panic (financial crash, etc) if they come forward with more information.
However, this New York Times June 1, 1993 report indicate the astronomers dismissed the existence of Planet X.
Maybe we will see Nibiru in the night sky in spring 2009. The only way to see Nibiru may be to bring a top-notch telescope to operate in the Southern Hemisphere (South Pole).
This comprehensive post is for entertainment, not to induce paranoia or anything. Just an interesting commentary, however far-out it sounds.
They never discovered the wheel, never smelted any metal of any type, and never domesticated a large draft animal and you want me to believe they had the knowledge of the universe?

Regarding Mars, this Argentinian scientist, Mario H. Acuña, said something odd. He said that if the earth loses its magnetic field, then “erosion from the solar wind” will carry away the earth’s atmosphere.
Huh???
“Solar wind” is radiation and subatomic particles. It cannot cause “erosion.” Acuña has a Ph.D. degree in Space Physics. Why would he say this? Very strange.
It’s true, however, that if the earth loses its magnetic field, the sun will fry us. The magnetosphere is our first line of shielding. (The ionosphere and troposphere also shield us.) It’s also true that the earth’s magnetic field has been weakening for the last 2,000 years, and especially during the past 20 years. This might be temporary phenomenon. Or the earth might be about to shift polarity, as it does every 250,000 years on average. The shift is not regular, and not instant. Scientists speculate that a shift take 1,000-28,000 years to complete. That would give us enough time to hopefully adjust.
Why does the earth shift polarity? No one knows. Geoscientists have constructed models of the earth, consisting of giant vats of liquid sodium (the most electrically conductive substance known). The model shifts polarity and random intervals. Why? Again, no one knows. Scientists don’t even have a hunch. They can’t even venture a guess. It’s a total mystery. It just… “happens.”
Hey…here’s something I’ve not seen in any science book. We know that the South Atlantic Anomaly occurs because the earth’s magnetic north and south poles are not aligned, nor are their positions constant. Now…concerning that “Great Red Spot” on Jupiter, the one that’s supposed to be a giant storm… why can’t that be a result of Jupiter’s own magnetic anomaly? The spot is roughly in the same place on Jupiter as our own anomaly is here on earth. So why can’t the Red Spot be the result of a magnetic anomaly? It would make perfect sense, since Jupiter’s just a big ball of gas, and has the larger magnetic field than all other planets combined. I wonder if anyone has thought of this.
