That would have turned their skit into cutting edge comedy - if they had mentioned the fact that no wealthy person ever risked any of their own money by loaning it to "a unemployed black man sitting on a crumbling porch in his string vest," ie if they had made it clear that all of these "sub-prime" loans were based on nothing more solid than the entry of digits on a computer screen.

These guys are serving the interests of power by depicting the situation as humorously absurd, by providing an inaccurate depiction of the fundamental situation, and lulling the audience into a harmless and smug self-satisfaction that at least they, the audience, aren't as silly as those silly ol' investment bankers.
