Ms. Natalie Portman, or how I learned to stop worrying and embrace Zionism
"For an author to write as he speaks is just as reprehensible as the opposite fault, to speak as he writes; for this gives a pedantic effect to what he says, and at the same time makes him hardly intelligible."
Arthur Schopenhauer
A true beauty with intellectual prowess in academic and professional fields...a pretty but "progressive" Zionist nonetheless.

Appropriately self-titled celebrity gossip blog The Superficial reacts with mockery.
A small number of blogs ridicule her position masquerading as "educational" without much substance in the investigation of perceived truth, considering her background as an Israeli-born American citizen who blindly supports Zionism.
Let's look back at Ms. Portman's position on Israel in subtle defense of Zionism in the April 17, 2002 letter to Harvard student newspaper The Harvard Crimson in which she resorts to historical revisionism -- ironic considering the universal condemnation of Holocaust denial, the politically incorrect taboo perceived odiously offensive to Jewish sensibilities, categorized under historical revisionism and subject to persecution by tarnished reputation & monetary/personal deprivation, prosecution & ostracization:
Israeli Diversity Shown Even Among Leaders
Letter to the Editors
Published On Wednesday, April 17, 2002
Faisal Chaudhry writes of the American and Israeli desire to “reconstruct the ideological framework” of the Middle East situation, while creatively framing the same article with a conversion into a “white” vs. “brown” struggle (Op-Ed, “An Ideology of Oppression,” April 11 [with cartoon]). At one point, Chaudhry even compares the situation to apartheid. This is a distortion of the fact that most Israelis and Palestinians are indistinguishable physically.
The Israeli government itself is comprised of a great number Sephardic Jews, many of whom originate from Arab countries. The chief of staff of the army, the minister of defense (who is the new leader of the labor party), the minister of finance and the president of Israel are all “brown.” One might have an idea of the physical likeness between Arabs and Israelis by examining this week’s Newsweek cover on which an 18-year-old female Palestinian suicide bomber and her 17-year-old female Israeli victim could pass for twins.
Israelis and Arabs are historically cousins. Until we accept the fact that we are constituents of the same family, we will blunder in believing that a loss for one “side”—or, as [critic Faisal whose anti-Israel column Natalie rebuts] Chaudhry names it, a “color”—is not a loss for all human kind.
Outrageous and untrue finger-pointing is a childish tactic that disregards the responsibility of all parties involved, including Europe, the Arab nations and the United States, along with Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
We must be ashamed of every act of violence and mourn every child as if they were our own. I pray for the safety of all those in the region and hope that we may someday use our unique human assets of language and empathy rather than military technology or propaganda to resolve this conflict.
My rebuttal: Natalie doesn't know the true historical background of the Khazars because she claims in the letter to Harvard student newspaper that Israel is totally (as Natalie implied) comprised of Sephardic Jews from Arab nations contrary to the belief that claim Khazar ancestry is an overwhelming majority in Israel.
Either Natalie is naive in subscribing to revisionist history as subject of Zionist programming or she covers up to mask Zionism to appease her 'masters' that specialize in smear attack & propaganda to deflect the criticism of Israeli policies and its mere existence -- one of them the favorite professor Alan Dershowitz, a hard-core Zionist professor of law at Harvard.
"Ethnic Ashkenazim Against Zionist Israel" condemns Natalie's hypocrisy (IMO, her naivete) in Natalie Portman's Genocidal Racism and Utter Hypocrisy: Harvard Honors Remorseless Unrepentant Racist. Alan Dershowitz took Natalie under his wing as the protégé -- a straight A student & research assistant on Dershowitz's apologist book The Case for Israel.
Anti-Zionist university professor & scholar Norman Finkelstein and Zionist hardliner Alan Dershowitz are the sworn enemies of each other in opposing viewpoints (amazing one-on-one debate video, transcript).
Natalie's favorite swear word (YouTube, 23 secs) -- Khazars favor the scatological & ribald language as a cultural attribution to the debased custom & lifestyle of the ancient Khazar Empire.
Case in point: Sarah Silverman is the epitome of Hollywood entertainment in purveying filth that pass as silly humor (semi-NSFW video from her Comedy Central show).
Ms Portman discuss her love for all things Israel (2 min)
FYI - A fascinating Vanity Fair April 2006 article on Natalie Portman that mention her association with Professor Dershowitz and her reported elitist attitude while a student majoring in psychology at Harvard '99-03.
A personal opinion of mine. I have a great admiration for Ms. Portman's smarts in averting Hollywood glamour to undertake the university life to acquire a degree from the prestigious Ivy League college as well as her natural beauty. However, Natalie's support of Zionism is akin to supporting Nazism in racial & ideological supremacy. A progressive Zionist she may be, but the relationship with the Zionist hatemonger & apologist for Israeli atrocities & misdeeds -- Alan Dershowitz -- is proof Ms. Portman close her mind in "speak, hear, see no evil" mantra.
Natalie Portman (nee Hershlag) may be a brilliant Harvard graduate & accomplished actress who have earned millions of dollars in salary & profit participation in movies and plays, but when it comes to the truth of the history and her defense of Zionism, she is either a victim of self-deception or a staunch albeit ignorant advocate of hegemonic Zionist agenda.
By the way, she's a strict vegetarian (since age 8). So am I. Even the 'ethically conscious' Zionists dislike meat! Heh, heh.
