It seems the billions of dollars they get from US in guaranteed loans and grants is not enough for israelis.

A 57-year-old Reisterstown man pleaded guilty today in federal court to charges related to an international counterfeiting ring, the Maryland U.S. Attorney's office announced.

Mordechai Mizrahi admitted in court to importing $120,000 in counterfeit $100 bills from co-conspirators in Israel, prosecutors said.

The bills were smuggled into Maryland and used primarily in the Baltimore area in 2003. Prosecutors said Mizrahi paid $32,500 in legitimate money for every $100,000 of the counterfeit currency.

U.S. Secret Service agents tracked 11 of the counterfeit bills to a transaction at a Randallstown grocery store, where they were used to purchase money orders that Mizrahi deposited into a bank account.

The bills were also exchanged for legitimate currency through cashiers at Atlantic City casinos and at various department stores -- where he would purchase merchandise and return it for legitimate currency, prosecutors said.

Howard County police arrested Mizrahi in October 2003 for using several of the bills at a Marriottsville golf course.

Mizrahi faces a maximum prison sentence of five years followed by two years' probation and a $250,000 fine. Sentencing has been scheduled for April 27.

What a joke. If he 'admitted' importing $120k in fake bills, then he must have imported much more than that. Yet, his 'maximum' sentence is only five years and his maximum 'fine' only $250k.

Of course, he'll walk away with both the minimum sentence and the minimum fine. Meanwhile, Americans who aren't 'israeli' get life in jail for shoplifting.

Moreover, the reporter on this story is either very lazy or deliberately hiding the facts because this case is apparently connected to the £12m worth of fake $100 bills seized in Maryland and israel, among other places, two months ago.

And this isn't the first time israelis were involved in large scale counterfeiting scams.

[During World War II,] more than £130m worth of British banknotes forged by the Nazis was used by the Jewish underground to help establish the State of Israel.

Actually, the 'nazis' who forged the bills were Jewish inmates 'chosen' for their 'expertise' in forgery.

See - they really are the chosen ones!

Mizrahi is a Sephardic name. I wonder if the Ashkenazis helped him, or let him get the “maximum” sentence. The gangsters already control the money, and perhaps Mizrahi tried to set up his own operation outside the "family." (Why else would he have been arrested?)

I checked various legal sources to find out his "sentence," but the sources all wanted me to give personal information and open an “account,” so I let it go.
