US stockpiles Oil to prepare for war with Iran
Everything going according to plan . . .
Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman on Thursday defended plans to divert oil into the federal emergency reserve, although he acknowledged that tight supplies likely are one reason for surging crude oil prices. The Energy Department announced it has awarded contracts to three companies — Shell Trading Co., Sunoco Logistics and BP North America — for 12.3 million barrels of oil to go into the government's Strategic Petroleum Reserve, beginning in January.
Deliveries are scheduled at a rate of 70,000 barrels a day for six months.
Some Democrats in Congress have repeatedly criticized the federal purchase of oil for the reserve, diverting it from commercial markets, when supplies are tight and prices increasing.
[snip]
The Strategic Petroleum Reserve, a system of salt caverns along the Louisiana and Texas coast, contains 694 million barrels of oil to be used in a supply emergency. The government is working to fill it to its 727 million barrel capacity.
That's maximum capacity by June 2008.
Clearly, the government anticipates an acute shortage in global oil supplies around that time.
If they plan to attack Iran by then that would explain it. But, the question is - WHO are they stockpiling the oil for?
If you think it's for Americans, think again.
BTW, who is Samuel Bodman?
Number 24 on a list of Bush's Israeli Lobby Advisors.

The US uses close to 21 million barrels of oil per day, so socking away 12.3 million barrels of oil is, figuratively speaking, a drop in the bucket.
Of that total 21 million barrels, 12 million are imported.
If the entire SPP were filled to capacity, it would give the US enough oil to operate for about two months.
Israel, on the other hand, uses about 250,000 barrels per day.
Which means Israel could keep on running its fascist state, using OUR SPP, about EIGHT YEARS.
(According to the 1975 Second Sinai withdrawal document signed by the United States and Israel, in an emergency the U.S. is obligated to make oil available for sale to Israel for up to 5 years.)
Sweet. First, we'd give them the money, then we'd "sell" them OUR oil.

BTW, how in the hell does we know there's any oil in the SPP?
Does anyone check to see that the oil is there or is it like the gold that's supposed to be in Fort Knox?
Has the SPP ever been audited?
Shortly after the MOSSAD attacks on 9/11, the SPP was supposed to be filled to help with any future disruptions.
Some was withdrawn in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, to help oil companies out who had lost platforms to the storms in the Gulf of Mexico.
So, i ask again: Does anyone know if the SPP has ever been audited or is the US being taken for ride in a giant shell game of sorrts?
