Iran Missiles can reach 2000km
TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- An Iranian legislator Sunday said that Tehran enjoys growing capabilities in the missile industry, mentioning that the country is now capable of manufacturing missiles with a range of over 2,000 km.
"Iran enjoys high missile capabilities and this power is on the increase on a daily basis," chairman of the defense committee of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission told FNA in the city of Kerman today.
"We are even capable of manufacturing missiles with a range of over 2,000 kilometers," Gholamreza Karami added.
He further reminded the home-grown nature of Iran's missile industry, underlining that the capability serves as a defensive tool and a deterrent factor.
"Iran's capabilities in the missile sector have increased Iran's deterrent power very much," the MP said, reiterating that his country's missile industry is aimed at increasing the Islamic Republic's defensive power.
