Newly released British documents contain a claim by an unnamed contact that the Shin Bet security service collaborated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine to hijack the June 1976 flight from Israel that was diverted to Entebbe, Uganda, the BBC reported Friday.
Israel's rescue of the dozens of hostages taken in the hijacking of the Air France plane, popularly known as the Entebbe raid, is considered one of the most daring and successful operations in Israeli history. Elite Israel Defense Forces troops stormed the airport where the hostages, many of them Israeli, were held and overpowered the hijackers and Ugandan soldiers.
Although the captors used the hijacking to demand the release of Palestinians or Palestinian supporters, a British government file on the incident quotes the unnamed source as telling a British diplomat in Paris that Israel was behind the hijacking. The claim is not known to be backed up by corroborating evidence, and the file does not make it clear whether the British government took the claim seriously.
"The operation was designed to torpedo the PLO's standing in France and to prevent what they see as a growing rapprochement between the PLO and the Americans," the BBC report said British diplomat D.H. Colvin wrote in the document, citing his source.
"My contact said the PFLP had attracted all sorts of wild elements, some of whom had been planted by the Israelis," Colvin reportedly wrote. "According to his information, the hijack was the work of the PFLP, with help from the Israeli Secret Service, the Shin Beit."
The document was written on June 30, 1976, three days after the hijacking and prior to the rescue operation.

THE MYTH OF ENTEBBE & ISRAELI FALSE-FLAG OPERATIONS

While Americans were celebrating their independence from the British Empire with displays of fireworks and other patriotic observances, another anniversary was pointedly not being observed, or even much noted, in Israel: on that day in 1976, a daring raid by Israeli commandos freed the hostages of Air France flight 139, held by PFLP terrorists and members of the German "Revolutionary Cells," at the Entebbe airport in Uganda. The plane had been originally headed to Paris from Athens, but the hijackers diverted it to Benghazi, Libya, for refueling, and then on to Entebbe, where Idi Amin greeted the terrorists as friends and allies. The raid, launched on the night of July 3 and carried out until the morning of July 4, caught the world's attention as a heroic and entirely justified operation aimed at freeing innocent victims of terrorism. Score one for Israel. The effect of this incident on world opinion, especially within the U.S. and Britain, was to increase sympathy for the Israelis and paint a portrait of the Palestinians as violent brutes. And that may very well have been the real motive behind the operation, according to secret documents recently released by the British government.
Among the cache of documents is a memo by David H. Colvin, then first secretary of the British embassy in Paris, who averred that a contact in the Euro-Arab Parliamentary Association had told him the "hijack was the work of the PFLP [Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine], with help from the Israeli secret service, the Shin Bet." The operation, wrote Colvin, was "an unholy alliance" and "was designed to torpedo the PLO's [Palestine Liberation Organization] standing in France and to prevent what they see as a growing rapprochement between the PLO and the Americans." Colvin detailed a very plausible scenario whereby Israel stood to benefit:
"Their nightmare is that after the November elections, one will witness the imposition in the Middle East of a Pax Americana, which will be the advantage of the PLO (who will gain international respectability and perhaps the right to establish a state on evacuated territories) and to the disadvantage of the Refusal Front (who will be squeezed right out in any overall peace settlement and will lose their raison d'être) and Israel (who will be forced to evacuate occupied territory)."
Colvin went on to say that "the PFLP had attracted all sorts of wild elements, some of whom had been planted by the Israelis." The document cache also contains a report from another British official citing a reporter for the Liverpool Post, Leo Murray, whose inside sources confirmed the hijacking was all about internal Palestinian politics, at least from the PFLP's perspective.
From the Israeli perspective, however, the propagandistic effect of the Entebbe incident on Western opinion, particularly in the United States and France, was crucial. The U.S. was seen as an unreliable partner who had to be manipulated into rejecting PLO proposals for an independent Palestinian state, and the French, who were in favor of some kind of equanimity in negotiating a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, also needed to be educated as to the inherent inability of the Palestinians to make peace.
The Israeli response to the Colvin revelations has been outrage, disbelief, and the denigration of this account as an "anti-Semitic conspiracy theory." Yet it isn't that hard to believe the Israelis would launch a false-flag operation in order to generate diplomatic and political blowback helpful to their cause – and it wouldn't be the only example of covert Israeli aid to the more militant wing of the Palestinian movement in order to undercut the PLO. And then there is the Lavon incident, in which the Israelis sent agents into Egypt, who then planted bombs in American and British facilities, including a USIA library and a British-owned movie theater: the idea was to pin the blame on the Muslim Brotherhood and show the Americans – who were tilting toward Egypt's rising leader, Gamal Abdel Nasser – that the Egyptians were unreliable allies.
The Entebbe narrative reiterated and dramatized the Israelis' insistence that they had the "right" to reach beyond their own borders in their "war on terrorism" – an early version, if you will, of the Bush Doctrine. Yet the Colvin memo shows that this official story was and is just a cover for an act of supreme cynicism and ruthlessness that would cause Machiavelli to blush.
Three hostages, one Israeli soldier, 45 Ugandan soldiers, and six hijackers were killed in Operation Thunderbolt. Particularly disturbing is the fact that the hijackers, once in Benghazi, separated out the Israeli and Jewish passengers from the rest, letting the Gentiles go and taking the remainder to Entebbe.
To think that this heinous act was carried out with the cooperation and collusion of Israeli intelligence may seem counterintuitive, yet this is precisely the sort of crazy decision too-clever-by-half government officials would make in pursuit of that formless concept known as "the national interest." This floating abstraction, of course, is whatever government officials say it is, and since ideology and ambition can make the most egregious acts seem necessary and even virtuous, no doubt the Shin Bet officials who colluded with the PFLP did so thinking they were serving Israel's cause.
In any case, the "divide and conquer" strategy has always been the linchpin of Israel's strategy for survival, and this is true right up to the present day, when a U.S.-Israeli "redirection," as Seymour Hersh calls it, is behind a recent pro-Sunni tilt designed to exacerbate the Sunni-Shi'ite split in the Muslim world. The idea is to unite America's traditional allies in the Middle East against Iran and the rising "Shia crescent."
"By way of deception, thou shalt make war" – that's the motto of the Mossad, Israeli's main intelligence agency, and it doubtless inspires its various auxiliaries, such as Shin Bet. Israel, a small country beset by legions of hostile neighbors, has relied not only on its military prowess – often likened to that of Sparta, another completely militarized, socialist state – but also on pure duplicity to achieve its goals. In evaluating Israel's actions, and especially in trying to understand what is going on in the Middle East, it is best to always keep this in mind. When it comes to that troubled region, the realization that events are not always what they seem is the beginning of wisdom.
to the survelliance of the alleged 9/11 hijackers by the so-called Israeli 'art students' who were Mossad operatives, who were arrested for their activities & failed lie detector tests before being released from orders on high, likely from Michael Chertoff. Logic would dictate that some of those questions in lie detectors pertained to whether they were actually involved in the attack or not. Sad thing is the mainline 911 truth movement won't talk about this aspect of the story - that over 100 Mossad agents including explosives experts(!) were actually arrested after 9/11 & failed these tests.
It is indeed sad and most frustrating. Some of the Israelis were actually caught with their hand in the cookie jar.. but that also wasn't good enough. There is no question as to Israeli involvement. The question is why are all the American leaders silent? Are they all this corrupt? What about the American people or media? Is the most advanced country in the world so apolitical or so well controlled by "the lobby"... or what? But most certainly.. Israel is involved in 9/11 at every single level.
I am absolutely convinced that Israel's survival as a "power" in the Middle East (not just a normal state), depends on maintaining a major conflict in the area... otherwise said: creating artificial tensions between the US and the various countries of the Middle East via false flags so that Israel remains the only "trusted" ally...

Among the hundreds of suspects being held in connection with the terror attacks of Sept. 11 are a number of Israelis who were seen rejoicing while photographing the burning World Trade Center.

Five Israelis, suspected of being co-conspirators in the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, arrested in New Jersey with box-cutters, multiple passports, and $4,000 cash on Sept. 11, remain in detention and may be held for another 90 days as the criminal investigation continues. They are among the more than 1,000 suspects who are being held in connection with the attacks whose detention is shrouded in secrecy.
The five men were on the roof of a moving company and the rooftop of their moving van, taking pictures of the burning buildings, some with themselves in the foreground smiling.
In each location, according to The Jerusalem Post, the men, described in press reports as rugged and Middle Eastern-looking, had been reported “cheering” and shouting in “cries of mockery,” which evoked the ire of neighbors, who called the police to report suspicious activity.
The Israelis: Sivan Kurzberg, his brother Paul Kurzberg, Yaron Shmuel, Oded Ellner and Omer Gavriel Marmari, suspected of being intelligence agents with prior knowledge of the attacks, are all in their 20s and employees of an Israeli-owned moving company, Urban Moving Systems, based in New Jersey.
A spokesman for the Israeli consulate in New York told AFP that “there have been more” Israelis detained in connection with the terror attacks, confirming press reports that numerous Israelis had been arrested, although he would not say how many. The spokesman said the five above-mentioned Israelis are being held in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn among the general population, although all had been held in solitary confinement until last week, according to The Jerusalem Post.
The mother of one of the detainees told the Israeli press that the suspects had been “tortured” during interrogation. However, the consular spokes man denied this, saying, “They haven’t been tortured.”
The Immigration and Naturalization Service has signed deportation orders for the five Israelis, but they can still be held for 90 days while the criminal investigation continues.
The Israeli consul general in New York, Alon Pinkas, has visited the detainees several times, seeing them as recently as Oct. 29.
Katie Shmuel, the mother of Yaron, told the Israeli press, “He was allowed to talk to them only in English, and only from behind a glass partition. The consul told me that the boys are in a bad state and that they are being held under difficult conditions.”
The mother says that the original reports that they had been arrested while boisterously watching the disaster from a rooftop “are totally fabricated.”
“For the first few days, the boys were held in an FBI dungeon, tied up, with no clothes and no food,” she said. “The Americans are using them as pawns to pressure the Israeli government.”

Five Israelis Held In New York
Five young Israelis are "on the verge of collapse," according to family members, as their incarceration in New York on charges relating to the Bin Laden attacks continues. They were arrested on Sept. 11, only hours after the World Trade Center attack, on charges of "plotting to blow up" a New York bridge.
Katie Shmuel of the Galilee town of Yokne'am, southeast of Haifa, says that her son Yaron is in "a very critical psychological situation," given that they are not allowed to have visitors and the difficult conditions in which they are being held. "Even the Israeli Consul-General in New York was allowed to visit only after asking several times and receiving a special permit," Katie told Arutz-7's Yosef Zalmanson today. "He was allowed to talk to them only in English, and only from behind a glass partition. The Consul told me that the boys are in a bad state and that they are being held under difficult conditions."
When asked why the five youths, aged 22-26, are being held, Katie replied with despair: "It's ludicrous. They were on the George Washington Bridge [between upper Manhattan and New Jersey] at the time of the bombing, and the FBI had warnings of a terrorist plot, of guys in a white van, to blow up the bridge. So when the FBI saw this van, with my son and his four friends - one of them had a large sum of money, there were two razor knives in the van, and one of the boys is named Omer, which the FBI guys thought was Omar - they put one and one together and got three, and immediately arrested them... For the first few days, the boys were held in an FBI dungeon, tied up, with no clothes and no food." She said that original reports that they had been arrested while boisterously watching the disaster from a rooftop "are totally fabricated. When asked how she explains her son's continued incarceration and that of his friends, she said, "I truly have no explanation for this incredible story - except this: The Americans are using them as pawns to pressure the Israeli government. Am I being clear enough?" She said that President Moshe Katzav and others had attempted to intervene, but there have been no results so far. The youths are being held in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
A spokesperson for the Israeli Consulate in New York told Arutz-7 that in the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks, "the Americans now have different procedures for dealing with the detention of anyone arrested in connection with the attacks. Every single request of ours must go through the FBI and the State Department's legal team." She said, "We are doing as much as we possibly can on their behalf," including, she said, getting local Jewish leaders involved in the cause of the imprisoned young Israelis.

U.S. Incarceration Of Five Israelis Sparks Hard Questions
Why have five young Israelis been detained for over six weeks in a maximum-security facility in New York on charges of minor immigration violations? Why have their deportation orders, which were issued one month ago, not yet been implemented? Why have the American authorities not taken note of the fact that, according to persons very close to the case, at least one of the five is on the verge of mental collapse? These are just some of the angry questions Jews in Israel are beginning to ask as more details of this bizarre case come to light.
The five, at least one of whom has asked to remain anonymous in order not to alarm his ill father and other ailing relatives, were originally arrested on Sept. 11 on charges relating to the Bin-Laden terrorist attacks. After up to 16 hours of "unpleasant" questioning, the investigators realized that they had made a mistake - but decided to keep the Israelis in jail anyway because their visas had expired. "The boys received deportation orders on Sept. 25," Atty. Steve Gordon, the New York attorney of one of them, said, "and I admit, I have no explanation as to why they have not yet been deported. Nor can I understand why they are being held in a maximum-security facility. Either the U.S. government is not telling us everything, or else it's true that the Immigration Service simply does not have enough manpower to implement the orders, as they claim."
Meanwhile, however, the five are suffering greatly. The mother of one told Arutz-7's Yosef Zalmanson that she has it from a "first-hand source" that one of them is in "very dangerous psychological condition," and that the others are also suffering. The parents are in close contact with one another, and have become, the mother said, a support group for each other. "Hopefully, when the boys return, we will be able to tell the full story of how we helped each other," she said. She said that she was not allowed to communicate with her son during the six weeks following the arrests. When told that the Consul-General in New York had said that they might be released "next week," she said, "Of course they *might* be - but there has been no indication at all that anything has changed since a month or six weeks ago. The whole thing is one big question mark."

When asked if the local Jewish community had gotten involved, both mothers said that they had been in contact with "someone there" but that they had not seen results.

NEW YORK (October 26) - Five Israeli men detained in New Jersey with box-cutters, multiple passports, and $4,000 cash on September 11, the day of the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, may be deported back to Israel for immigration violations as early as next week, according to the Israeli consulate in New York.
Consul for Media and Public Affairs Ido Aharoni said the deportation order was issued by the US Immigration and Naturalization Service, and it must be approved by the Justice Department.
But the lawyer for the men, Steven Gordon, said the group is still waiting for the INS to sign the deportation order.
Gordon said the plight of the five, who were almost immediately cleared by authorities but subsequently held on relatively minor immigration violations, including overstaying a tourist visa by nine days and working illegally on a tourist visa, serves as a warning to anyone concerned with civil liberties in the wake of September 11.
"However, after ascertaining almost immediately that they had no involvement, it is just unconscionable that they have been denied bail and the government is deporting them," he said.
The consulate has visited the men twice, said Aharoni, the first time two weeks ago. Consul-General Alon Pinkas plans to visit them Monday.
Gordon said they have continuously requested, and not yet received, kosher food.
Trouble began for Sivan Kurzberg, his brother Paul Kurzberg, Yaron Shmuel, Oded Ellner and Omer Gavriel Marmari, all in their twenties and workers at a New Jersey-based moving company, on September 11 when they were picked up in a during the heightened security sweep following the attacks on New York and Washington.
A series of coincidences brought the police and FBI in hot pursuit of the men, said Gordon. After the two terrorist airplanes hit the World Trade Center, the men went to the rooftop of their workplace, and the rooftop of their moving van, and began taking pictures of the burning buildings, some with themselves in the foreground smiling.
In each location, the men, described in press reports as rugged and Middle Eastern-looking, evoked the ire of neighbors, who called the police to report suspicious activity.
Hours later, the men, who were driving back to their home in Brooklyn, were pulled over based on the description of the van given to police. With their box-cutters and cash seen as hijacker's weapons rather than tools of the moving trade, they were taken to Meadowlands police station, forced to lie down for 1.5 hours in a grassy area, then questioned by the FBI for 12-16 hours. They were not given food for the duration of the interrogation, said Gordon.
After determining the men were not connected to the attacks, they were turned over to INS custody and detained on immigration violations. A new round of interrogations began after the FBI developed their film, which, according to their lawyer, showed them posing on the rooftop and van as the World Trade Center collapsed behind them.
All five were held in solitary confinement until last week.
When asked if they had complained of being mistreated, Aharoni said, "All the reports that we received said they're in a maximum security facility. How well can you be treated in such a facility?"
The fact that the Israelis haven't been identified by the "9/11 Truth Movement" as supsect #1 for who put the explosives in the towers is something that I really find suspiscious. It sucks & we need to form activist groups of our own sort.
acheiving their expansionist & power ecompassings aims through creating artificial tensions & covertly encouraging & funding radicalization of Islamic groups (from legitimate resistance to terrorism) & in many cases doing all-out false flags. Not to mention comprising people like U.S. politicians in sexual situations & then blackmailing them.
They are an awful bunch... but the worse is that after all this, they are still the "victims". They are still the "poor little Israelis". They are the ones who are "defending themselves"... but on other peoples lands. They are the ones for whom 'anti-Semitic' bills are passed in Congress. Its OK to criticise to whole world.. but its not OK to criticise "poor little innocent Israel".
The perpetrators have become the victims and the victims perpetrators...
