Midnight Massacre

No one knows how many people were killed on the road to Basra in February 1991, but there were enough to fill a traffic jam five vehicles wide and sixty miles long.
The attack will be described later in this post -- as will the reason I bring it up.
Contrary to U.S. propaganda, the victims were mostly civilians, many of them Jordanians, Palestinian refugees, and so forth (men, women, and children), all of which were moving north to comply with a United Nations order. The USA slaughtered them in the desert at midnight so no one would see.
Statistically, the USA is the world’s most violent nation in terms of conquest. Either the USA is killing people, or equipping dictators to kill people. Such extreme violence attracts Zionists like flies to excrement. It makes populations easy to manipulate through false-flag operations. It’s one reason why Zionists took control of the USA. If Americans truly valued human life, they would never have allowed Israel to exist in the first place.
France is the same. It helped make Israel a nuclear power, and deliberately caused the Rwanda genocide. England’s colonial period in India was savage, as was Holland’s colonial period in Southeast Asia.
Now Zionists own all those violent nations.
By contrast, Ireland (to take a random example) has never engaged in imperial wars of conquest, and is therefore not as controlled by Zionists as England is.
The massacre on the road to Basra happened sixteen years ago. We can’t do anything about it now, but we can use it to reflect on who we are as a people.
BUILDUP TO A NIGHTMARE
I won’t analyze the reasons for Saddam’s invasion of Kuwait, but I will note that the USA showed no opposition to Saddam’s increasing threats against Kuwait. When Saddam asked U.S. Ambassador April Glaspie to explain the State Department testimony in Congress about Iraq's threats against Kuwait, Glaspie assured him the U.S. considered the dispute a regional concern, and would not intervene.
It was all a setup, and Saddam took the bait, just as he did when he attacked Iran shortly after the Iranian revolution.
On August 2, 1990, Iraq occupied Kuwait without significant resistance. The next day President Bush (Senior) vowed to defend Arabia. King Fahd knew Iraq had no intention of invading Arabia, but it didn’t matter. Bush Senior immediately sent Defense Secretary Cheney, General Powell, and General Schwarzkopf to Arabia. Four days after the invasion, on August 6, General Schwarzkopf told King Fahd that Saddam could attack Arabia within 48 hours.
This was a lie. Indeed, Iraq waited over five months while the U.S. slowly built a force of more than 500,000 soldiers in Arabia.
In October 1990, Generals Powell and Schwarzkopf both admitted that Desert Storm had been planned in 1989, eighteen months before Saddam invaded.
In April 1991 U.S. Ambassador April Glaspie testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that she had "repeatedly warned Iraqi Saddam against using force to settle his dispute with Kuwait." This was a lie, but Glaspie has since faded into protective obscurity, and the cables she sent from Iraq about her meetings with Saddam are still classified.
Immediately after Saddam invaded, Bush Senior sent 40,000 troops to Arabia, but said nothing to Congress. Then he quietly sent another 200,000 troops, and fired anyone that exposed the overall plan – which was not to push Iraq out of Kuwait, but to destroy Iraq from the air. On September 16, 1990, Air Force Chief of Staff General Michael J. Dugan spoke to the press about Bush Senior’s plans to destroy the Iraqi civilian economy. Dugan was immediately fired.
Ten days after Iraq invaded Kuwait, Saddam made the first of repeated requests to negotiate a peaceful resolution with the USA. Bush Senior rejected all overtures, while accusing Saddam of rejecting diplomatic solutions. Moscow offered a peace plan, which Saddam accepted. Bush called it a "Cruel hoax."
Next came a stream of U.S. lies about chemical weapons, about Iraqis murdering hundreds of incubator babies, and so on. Saddam was the “Hitler” of the day. Manuel Noriega had been “Hitler” the year before. Chavez and Ahmadinejad are "Hitler" now.
On January 16, 1991, the USA began a bombing campaign, dropping 88,000 tons of explosives over 42 days. No resistance came from Iraqi aircraft, and no effective anti-aircraft or anti-missile ground fire.
About 93 percent of the tonnage was free-falling ordnance dropped by B-52s at altitudes above 30,000 feet, intended to destroy Iraq’s infrastructure. The USA called these "surgical strikes," when in fact it was widespread carpet-bombing.

The remaining 7% of bombs were cruise missiles, laser-guided “smart bombs,” and so on, of which more than 25% missed their targets, killing anyone nearby.
Napalm and incendiary devices were used to ignite firestorms. Oil wells, storage tanks, and refineries were targeted and set ablaze – although the USA claimed that Saddam attacked them. Massive oil spills spread across the Gulf. Water systems and sewage disposal systems were obliterated.
Cluster bombs were used on Basra and other cities. The CBU-75 carries 1,800 bomblets called Sadeyes. Each bomblet contains 600 razor sharp steel fragments lethal up to 40 feet. The 1,800 bomblets from one CBU-75 sprays deadly shrapnel over an area equal to 157 football fields.
Giant "superbombs" were dropped on hardened shelters. Body parts went flying, and showed up as new decorations on the chests of military commanders.
A Newsweek article on Norman Schwarzkopf, titled "A Soldier of Conscience" (March 11,1991), remarked that before the ground war, Schwarzkopf was only worried about "How long the world would stand by and watch the United States pound the living hell out of Iraq without saying, 'Wait a minute - enough is enough.’ Schwarzkopf itched to send ground troops to finish the job."
Schwarzkopf’s plan was to not let Iraqi soldiers retreat from Kuwait. Powell justified this by claiming (absurdly) that Iraqi soldiers knew they had been sent to Kuwait to die.
On February 22, 1991, White House spokesman Marlin Fitzwater said, "The United States and its coalition partners will not attack retreating Iraqi forces.” Later a reporter asked how the Iraqis could retreat while they were still being heavily bombed. Bush answered, "That’s for them to find out."
On Sunday, 24 February 1991, as Iraq lay in ruins, and 100,000 Iraqi soldiers (plus countless civilians) lay dead, U.S. ground forces crossed the Arabian border into Kuwait and Iraq. They attacked retreating Iraqi forces wherever they found them, killing thousands more and destroying all equipment in their path
The following day brought the Midnight Massacre.
On February 25, 1991, while U.S. forces were still miles away from Kuwait City, Saddam ordered everyone out in compliance with U.N. Resolution 660. The evacuation began at 5:35 pm. Bush called it a “cruel hoax” (one of his favorite slogans during his reign). Most Palestinians went with the Iraqis, knowing they would be doomed if they stayed. Because Iraq had supported Palestinians, Kuwaitis would blame them as well as Iraqis. (Later when the al-Sabah family regained control of Kuwait, its death squads liquidated about 650 Palestinians who stayed behind.)
Everyone went north on Highway 80, but traffic became so jammed that many people branched off to the coastal road. (Map below).
U.S. forces waited until the crowds were in the desert. Then at midnight, U.S. aircraft and gunships attacked the front and rear of the columns on both highways in order to prevent escape. Anti-armor mines were also laid across the highways, further preventing vehicle movement. Then General Schwarzkopf ordered a full attack.

Pilots told their crews to grab whatever bombs happened to be close to the plane, from napalm to white phosphorus to 500-pound concussion ordnance. These were flown to the desert and dropped on cars and trucks. Munitions crews on the USS Ranger aircraft carrier worked joyously as loudspeakers blasted the theme song from the Lone Ranger (Rossini’s William Tell Overture). S-3 Viking anti-submarine patrol aircraft were outfitted with cluster bombs and sent to drop them on fleeing civilians.
Kill zones were assigned to groups of eight aircraft, which entered the target area every 15 minutes. According to Major General Royal N. Moore, commander of the Marine Air Wing 3, "It was like a turkey shoot until the weather turned sour."
Hour after hour, death rained from the night sky, with planes dropping bombs, returning to aircraft carriers for quick reloading, and then going back to drop more bombs. Gunships blasted anyone who fled into the desert. So many aircraft filled the night sky that an aerial traffic jam made combat air controllers fear midair collisions.
British pilots were ordered to assist. When they first arrived, they were so appalled by the slaughter that they turned their aircraft around without firing, protesting over their radios that the targets were defenseless civilians. Under threat of court martial, they eventually took part in the massacre.
The bloodbath took on a life of its own, which is typical in all slaughters. When humans kill other humans en mass, their horror is transformed into lust. The killer blasts away in an effort to kill the horror, which creates more horror, which increases the blasting in a cyclone of insanity. Since the horror is much worse when victims are defenseless, the insanity flares all the more.
The massacre continued until dawn, at which point the 2nd Marine Division and its augmenting armored brigade (the "Tiger" brigade) of the Army’s 2nd Armored Division arrived on the scene. Amazed to find some people still alive, they called up other units and proceeded to use artillery and 50-caliber machineguns to finish off the wounded.
A pool reporter with the 2nd Armored Division later wrote:
“As we drove slowly through the wreckage, our APC’s tracks splashed through great pools of bloody water. We passed dead soldiers that lay without a mark on them, while others were completely blown apart. A pair of legs in its trousers would be 50 yards from the top half of the body. Four soldiers had died under a truck where they sought protection. One flatbed contained nine bodies, their hair and clothes burned off, their skin cooked by heat so intense it melted the windshield onto the dashboard. Huge trucks were pushed into the ground, becoming steel coffins for people inside. All glass had been melted away. Huge tanks were reduced to shrapnel.”
Later U.S. soldiers paid for having indulged in so much madness. Radioactivity from depleted uranium -- plus the massive use of pesticides, experimental drugs, burning chemical weapons depots, and oil fires -- combined to create a toxic cocktail affecting both the Iraqi people and Gulf War veterans today. One in four Gulf War veterans is disabled.

The 1907 Hague Convention governing land warfare – plus the U.S. Field Manual of 1956 – makes it illegal to declare that no quarter will be given to withdrawing soldiers. The Geneva Conventions of 1949, Common Article III, outlaws the killing of soldiers who are out of combat. The 1977 Geneva Protocols outlaw the use of napalm and white phosphorus as anti-personnel weapons. The Geneva Accords and the 1977 Conventions specifically prohibit attacks on civilians.
However, let us remember...
"George Bush was not elected by a majority of the voters in the United States. He was appointed by God." -- U.S. Army Lt. General William G. Boykin, Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence.
COVER-UP
Immediately afterward, Bush Senior engaged in a massive cover-up. The U.S. military said the convoys were engaged in "classic tank battles," as if Iraqi troops tried to fight back, or even had a chance to fight back.
A March 11, 1991 a Washington Post, article, headlined "U.S. Scrambles to Shape View of Highway of Death," suggested that the U.S. government conspired to hide this war crime from the world. The Post says senior officers with the U.S. Central Command in Riyadh became worried about a growing public perception that Iraqi forces were voluntarily leaving Kuwait. Therefore the U.S. government, says the Post, concocted a carefully drawn picture in which all the fleeing people were hardened soldiers who fought back as they retreated. Televised military briefings from Arabia claimed that Iraqi forces were being pushed from the battlefield.
General McPeak took great pride in the slaughter. "It’s when enemy armies are in retreat that the true fruits of victory are achieved from combat.”
Afterward the USA gave Saddam a bill that, among other things, demanded that Saddam pay Kuwait $50 billion in reparations for damage caused by the USA. When the oil-for-food program began, the first 15% of revenues taken in by Iraq went to Kuwait.
ISRAEL
Did the USA invade Iraq strictly to benefit Israel? I doubt it. The roots of the invasion go back to 1972 when the Iraqi government nationalized the Iraqi Petroleum Company. Nixon responded by arming the Kurds, and them goading them into attacking Saddam. When Iran kicked out the Shah in 1979, the USA abandoned the Kurds to Saddam’s wrath, and maneuvered Saddam into an eight-year war with Iran (1980-82), and then into an invasion of Kuwait (1990). Then the USA bombed, starved, and finally invaded Iraq.
Yes Israel benefits, but I think oil is also a factor.
Put another way, the U.S. pattern existed before Zionists took control of the USA. In 1953, Iranian Prime Minister Mossadegh spearheaded a movement to nationalize the only oil company in Iran, which happened to be British-owned. Therefore the CIA arranged a coup and installed the Shah, who returned Iran’s oil industry to private hands, giving the US and Britain 40 percent each.
In 1954 the people of Guatemala nationalized the United Fruit Company. Therefore the CIA overthrew Guatemala’s government.
Yes, the pattern was already there. Zionists simply used it to take over. They lead Americans around by the nose, just as America led Saddam around by the nose. It was not Zionists who armed those planes, or flew them to the Kuwait desert. It was Americans, and they did it with joy.
Now the USA is dying. The collapse won’t be pretty, but at least Israel will die as well, unless Zionists can find a new host.

"George Bush was not elected by a majority of the voters in the United States. He was appointed by God." -- U.S. Army Lt. General William G. Boykin, Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence."
Uhhh, believe General "My god is bigger than your god" Boykin was referring to Junior, GW Bush, not Bush the Elder.
In the late 1980's and the early 1990's, there was almost a sense of euphoria in the U.S.
There was definitely a sense of relief, as the government mandated enemy we were supposed to hate and spend nearly all our wealth on defending against this "enemy of the state", the former Soviet Union, was coming apart at the seams.
Mostly due to the USSR invading and occupying a nation that was not threat to the USSR--sound familiar?
People were talking about a "peace dividend."
That would be the tax money freed up from spending on the Department of War, since our #1 enemy was dissolving. This type of "peace" talk scared the hell out of the Pentagon and the numerous defense contractors that made their living by making instruments of death.
And it definitely got the attention of the White House and the Congress, for how else would they scare the people into permanent war and submission if there wasn't a "Soviet Boogeyman" around?
Enter Iraq and Saddam Hussein, Hitler v.6. Enter lie after lie about how Saddam was the New and Improved Hitler. How he was using banned weapons against his fellow Iraqi's---hell, we should know what weapons Saddam was using, we gave them to Iraq.
After being whipped into a blood-thirsty frenzy by state propaganda and being told that since we're the good guys wearing the white hats, it was our duty to rescue Kuwait, the US did just that by bombing the hell out of Iraq in a campaign lasting about five weeks.
Tales of horror and the numerous war crimes committed by us "good guys" never saw the light of day in the American MSM. How many people know that armored American bulldozers were being used to bury alive Iraqi troops in their bunkers? Even AFTER the cease fire.
The mass graves now being found in Iraq are being attributed to Saddam, but a lot of these graves have "Made in the USA" stamped on them.
Now, we're in Iraq again, in an occupation that will last for at least 50 years, or so the neoCONs and Zionists like to fantasize. But it won't.
The USA is coming apart at the seams, and like the former USSR, will collapse from its own weight. And with its political, military and financial backing gone, Israel will disappear into the dustbin of history.
