Yes, you read that right. 99.25% APR over the period of 42 months on the loan of measly 2,600 dollars.
Only desperate fools with the history of bad credit or run-in with the loan-sharking mob would commit financial suicide taking out the loan on an insanely exorbitant interest rate.
There is, I suppose, the American law that forbids interest rate hovering above 99 percent. What government, state and federal, would allow credit lenders to charge the monstrous interest only to terrorize and oppress the victims who made the foolish mistake of borrowing the loan to pay off the bill quickly, like medical emergency or past-due rent?
Usury should be outlawed in America. Such fraudulent scheme to exploit the financially illiterate people (especially the poor) is despicable bordering on evil.

btw - 100% annual APR is mild. Some payday lenders collect up to 500% APR on loans to single working mothers.
This happens all the time, though some states have stricter laws than others for those types of practices.
