A Canadian Girl Named Aqsa

Welcome to sweet 16, Aqsa....wherever you may be....

----------

I am so tired of this. Already I am hearing slandering remarks about my faith where I work.

On the front page of every paper in Canada is the story of a father who killed his 16 year old daughter because she wouldn't wear her hijab. Big news on TV. Of course.

A woman of slavic ethnicity who is Muslim, told news reporters that we should all not jump to conclusions, that we should not taint Islam because of what happened. This lady told the press the facts are not all in.

I agree with this woman, but we will never hear about what really went on as I know the media will play this terrible story like a golden oldie.

And I am just so sick and tired of it.

I am fed up with Muslims who behave this way. They play right into the hands of zionism and they don't realize it.

And for the record - the hijab has nothing to do with Islam. Christians and Hebrews were covering themselves up long before Islam came about. At the same time I don't knock the hijab. If women and girls want to wear it for religious reasons, because they are brought up that way, I don't care. It's none of my business, just like it's no one's business why I refuse to wear the hijab. There are some beautiful hijabs out there that make me want to wear one sometimes - but I wont, except for in the mosque.

I am sick and tired of the Zionist media dressing up Islam in violence and narrow-minded behavior.

The media has done its job, and very well.

For 6 months, starting in January 2007, I worked in a doctor's office. This was an internship through my college that I paid for. One day, and one day was enough for me, I heard the typical rote I read in newspapers and books. Two men talking about Iraq in the doctor's waiting room. Mohammed [he works for his father's pharmacy - I am at the computer typing in appointments] and I look at each other as one of these men say, "See what's going on in Iraq, they're just blowing each other up!" The other guy says, "Well it's their god....what are you going to do?"

Thank you zionist media thugs. You are succeeding.

Christian fathers who murder their children - oh....we never hear about that.

Come on Muslims. Step up to the plate! Be aware! Stop playing into the creature's game!

If it is true....although we don't know for sure - because the truth about media is.... that they don't have to tell you the truth - they just have to tell you a good story......BUT...if it is true that Aqsa's father killed his daughter because of the hijab, then what we have is a classic case of people using God for their own sick and manipulating behaviours.

God is not STOOPID.

Apparently we are.

And I am sick about the whole thing.

So tell me...does the 16 year-old girl named Aqsa = Luka? Yes, sadly, it looks like it. How many Lukas' to Aqsas'?

Oh well....never mind. It's all in a days work to put Islam in a diabolical spotlight - and so easy, too.

Let's assume that the dad killed her because she wouldn't wear hijab.

Firstly, in Islam, the concept of hijab is importatnt for both males and females, though there are different opinions on the extent of covering/humility that is the minimum of hijab.

On the other hand, there is NO difference of opinion in Islam on the issue of murder. It's clear as day that murder is wrong, murderers get the most severe punishment in the afterlife, and in an Islamic state, murderers can be executed.

So it doesn't matter what this dad killed his daughter for, murder is murder and is anti-Islamic and un-Islamic to the extreme.

I'd like to see the media describe and speculate on Christian and Jewish murderers and link their religions every time they do a crime. It doesn't happen, the glaring exception is whenever a Muslim commits a crime, that's when all of Islam gets put on trial.

The concept of hijab is important in Islam for both men and women, as you say...well fine.

I was raised differently.

I can understand the need to dress conservatively - I understand God's message in the Quran about not exposing the breasts, and I agree with it.

What I don't get is girls wearing the hijab and then wearing tight jeans. I see that alot. LOL!

What is the point? Why don't they just wear baggy sweat pants and a t-shirt? Why even bother covering the hair?

Am I being stubborn, stupid, ignorant? I don't think so.

Butt and thighs versus hair...

I say butt and thighs should be covered not hair - that is - if a girl is dressing in respect for God, herself and her family.

If Muslims must be this strict with their daughters, they shouldn't be living in the USA or Canada.

Sure there are huge number of Muslim girls wearing the hijab and they are happy to do so while living in the USA and Canada - and they experience no problems.

It's all in how a girl is raised.

Where I went to college, I saw hijabs everywhere.

What I mean to say...is that Muslim families coming from a Muslim country like Iran and so on....they need to understand, that especially in HIGH SCHOOL - it can be very hard for girls to wear the hijab. They can feel isolated. Some of these girls really love and enjoy the freedom of dress in Canada and USA, so much that they begin to outrageously disrespect their parents and flaunt a desire to change and become more like the NA girls.

It happens a lot. I have seen this. I am so glad that I never had to suffer that kind of situation.

At the same time some of those NA girls really need to learn about conservative dressing. The things I see in the city on a Friday and Saturday night - HORRORS!

..seen some really scary stuff too! some terribly misguided people out there, but who am i to judge them? what is normal? is it even possible to be normal in America?

..i seriously doubt this was just about a hijab, and couldn't believe the audacity of the media to fan the flames of anti-semitism (sic). i am however; not surprised!
