Putin: Grave danger may await Iran

Russian President Vladimir Putin
Russia urges Iran to keep a wary eye on Washington for the NIE report may be aimed at fooling Tehran into halting defense preparations.

In an interview with Time magazine, President Vladimir Putin said that it is theoretically possible that Washington published the US National Intelligence Estimate in order to 'divert Iran's attention from preparations for military action', which would be a 'grave mistake'.

"Assuming that the report was released to give an objective picture of events, this only goes to show that the Russian side, in formulating its foreign policy positions, is after all guided by objective data," he said.

"There are people in the US administration who believe in telling the truth," he added.

Although the report has confirmed the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program, US President George W. Bush has maintained his hawkish stance, saying, "Iran is dangerous and Iran will be dangerous."

Russia, however, has consistently held the line that there is no proof Iran is producing nuclear weapons, resisting US efforts to impose harsher sanctions on Tehran.

Dude, can I please ask you to include web links when you post an item? Much appreciated. :-)

I don’t think the Iranians are fooled. They know Bush is insane, and that Israel will never stop its aggression. They also know that Bush can order a false flag operation and have his war any time he likes.

Today Iran just completed another big round of war games that were both naval and land based.

To have both Bush and Cheney, the world's most dangerous war mongers and lovers of death and destruction to all things Arab/Muslim/Persian suddenly start meowing like two kitties about the NIE on Iran is troubling.

They and their cohorts have been preparing for this space in time for years and they're not about to let this opportunity slip by.

You can damn will bet they're up to something and that something is their insane desire to wage war against Iran.

Until both of these at large war criminals and their co-conspirators, like Rumsfeld, Feith, Perle, Rice, Wolfowitz, Ledeen, et al. are indicted, arrested and convicted for their numerous war crimes, the world will not be safe from their devious ways.
