israel "apologizes" for killing 49 Arabs returning from work
Ever hear of Dawayma and Kafr Qassem? I hadn't - until today.
Today, that lying supremacist, Shimon Peres "apologized" for the massacre at Kafr Qassem by israeli soldiers more than 50 years ago.
Tel Aviv - The Israeli President Shimon Peres apologized for a massacre of Palestinians that took place at the village of Kfar Qassem more than 50 years ago, Israeli media reported Saturday. Peres on Friday visited the village where on October 29, 1956, security personnel killed 48 Israeli Arab civilians on the first day of the 1956 Israeli war against Egypt.
"A terrible event happened here in the past, and we are very sorry for it," Peres said. "We are all children of the same god, who has not given us permission to kill, oppress and humiliate others."
According to Israel, border police shot at a group of Arab workers who had broken a curfew. The victims, who included women and children, were returning from work and apparently had not been notified of the curfew.
Individual members of previous Israeli governments have also apologised for the Kfar Qassem incident.
Human rights activists in the past had considered taking the Israeli government to court for war crimes over the massacre.
Of course, these made-for-tv apologies ring hollow as 50 years later israelis continue their murderous campaign to cleanse the land of Arabs, a dozen at a time.
But, I went looking to see exactly which of their vile acts could be so horrible that even blood-thirsty zionists would offer apologies, if only for show.
I ran into not only one but two grisly massacres that I had never heard about. For the first, they didn't "apologize."
* DAWAYMA MASSACRE
29 October 1948, the following is the testimony of a soldier who participated in the occupation of the village of Dawayma (in the Haifa subdistrict):
".. They killed between 80 to 100 Arab men women and children. To kill children they factured their heads with sticks. Threre was not one home left without corpses .... One commander ordered a soldier to bring two women into a building he was about to blow up... Another soldier prided himself on having raped an Arab women before shooting her to death...".
The massacre was perpetrated by the 89th Battalion, the authors of Lydda massacre.* KUFR KASEM MASSACRE
29 October 1956: Israeli Border guards (Ha-Mishmar Gvool) started at 4:00 PM what they called a tour of the Triangle Villages. They told the Mukhtars (Aldermen) of those villages that the curfew from that day onwards was to start from 5:00 PM instead of the usual 6:00 PM. They reached Kafr Qasem around 4:45 PM and informed the Mukhtar (Alderman) who protested that there are about 400 villagers working outside the village and there is not enough time to inform them of the new times. An officer assured him that they will be taken care of. Then the guards waited at the entrance to the village. Forty nine of Kafr Qasem inhabitants - including 7 children and 9 women - were massacred in cold blood by the army as they returned from work. Their crime was violating a curfew they did not know about. On the northern entrance of the village, 3 more were killed and 2 were killed inside of the village. The Israeli Lieutenant Danhan was touring the area in his jeep reporting the massacre, on his wireless he said "minus 15 Arabs" after a while his message on the radio to his H.Q. was "it is difficult to count".
Where [sic] the soldiers brought to trial ?
o All Israeli officers directly involved in the killings were released from jail less than 3 years after the massacre!
o Brigadier Yishishkar Shadmi, the man who commanded the killings, was found guilty of a "merely technical" error! He was sentenced to a reprimand and a fine of one Israeli piastre (less than one cent)!?
o Less than three years after being found guilty of killing 41 Arab citizens, Lieutenant Dahan was acquitted and appointed " officer responsible of Arab Affiars" in the Municipality of Ramle!!
So much for remorse - israeli supremacists have no conscience to feel remorse.
DEIR YASSIN MASSACRE, APRIL 9, 1948
The first major massacre in the 1948 War was the massacre of Deir Yassin on April 9110, 1948. It was designed to spread terror and panic among the Palestinian population in every city and village of Palestine in order to frighten them into fleeing, so that their homes and land could be confiscated for the use of Jewish colonialist settlers. The tactics of the Zionist Jews were to frighten defenseless people into fleeing their homes out of fear for their lives.
Two hundred and fifty people were slaughtered. Mutilating the bodies, even before death, the culprits cut off parts and opened the bellies of others. Nursing babies were butchered on the bosoms of helpless mothers.
Of those two hundred and fifty people, twenty-five pregnant women were bayoneted in their abdomens while still alive. Fifty-two children were maimed under the eyes of their own mothers, and then they were slain and their heads cut off. Their mothers were in turn massacred and their bodies mutilated. About sixty other women and girls were also killed and their bodies mutilated. Such are the historical facts concerning the horrible crime perpetrated against the Arab village of Deir Yassin.
