Trivial observation:
The U.S. Congress has 540 members, 37 of which are Jewish (6.9 percent).
Congress takes five religious holidays. One is Christmas; the other four are Jewish…

7 percent of Congress people are Jewish, but 80 percent of religious holidays are Jewish.

On 23 Oct 07 Jane Harman’s “Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007” passed the House by a vote of 404 to 6.
It now sits on the desk of Joe Lieberman in the Senate.
Congress will reconvene on 15 January 08.

The number of seats in the US Congress is 535.
43/535 = 8%, not 6%.
I should also point out that 13 of the 100 senators are Jewish. That's 100/13 = 13% (I have a calculator function on my mac.)
According to the Washington Post article above, Jews make up 2% of the population, but 13% of the Senate. I don't think it is a coincidence that the highest percentage of Jewish representation in the Congress comes at a time when this country is fighting wars for israel.
