Kucinich demands New Hampshire recount
Democrat Dennis Kucinich, who won less than 2 percent of the vote in the New Hampshire primary, said he wants a recount to ensure that all ballots in his party's contest were counted. He cited "serious and credible reports, allegations and rumors" about the integrity of Tuesday's results.
Deputy Secretary of State David Scanlan said Kucinich is entitled to a statewide recount, but Kucinich must pay for it.
Candidates who lose by 3 percentage points or less are entitled to a recount for a $2,000 fee. Candidates who lose by more than that must pay for the full cost.
Kucinich's campaign will pay $2,000 to Scanlan to start the recount.
Kucinich said he does not expect significant changes in his vote total, but wants assurance that "100 percent of the voters had 100 percent of their votes counted."
Kucinich alluded to online reports alleging disparities around the state between hand-counted ballots, which tended to favor Obama, and machine-counted ones that tended to favor Hillary. He also noted the difference between pre-election polls, which indicated Obama would win, and Clinton's triumph by a 39 percent to 37 percent margin.
Scanlon said his office had received several phone calls since Tuesday, mostly from outside the state, questioning the results. Scanlon said the results can be checked against paper ballots.
(Paper ballots are checked by optical scanners made – once again – by Diebold.)

Where did you get that idea from? Scanlan (more correctly spelled as Scanlon) is an Irish surname.
I triple-checked this, and you are correct. I saw "Scanlon" in the files of a Jewish genology group, but it is not Jewish.
Thanks. I'll remove that part from the post.
Where are all the other candidates? Where is Ron Paul? I suggest that they AFRAID of what other people will think of them. But what kind of LEADER is that?
A leader is not merely a person who is in front of a pack. A leader leads. These candidates who are receiving all of that special interest money are going to be just as hesitant to challenge anything that would harm those special interests.
Ron Paul I can't figure out. What has he got to lose? He has way more money than Kucinich. (Of course, I also can't understand why RP doesn't support impeachment or why he doesn't talk about 911. Kucinich, again, is for impeachment and re-investigating 911.)

Dennis Kucinich just got the money I would have sent to Ron Paul.
If Ron Paul is meek enough to take a squirrelly election count, he may be too weak to be President.
Kucinich just took a big leap up in my view. He needs bucks to pursue this.
"We have no control over the ballot chain of custody and we have learned the pain from the 2004 Nader recount, in which only 11 districts were counted, chosen by a highly questionable person, and then nothing showed up. Now all we hear is how the Nader recount validated the machines."
Evidently, the deadline for Ron Paul to file for a similar NH recount was earlier this evening. I know not if he paid the $2000 to have it done-- if not, what excuse?
If not, I suspect a lot o' people will be waking up (me too, oc).
The Repub vote will be recounted because a group called Granny Warriors got one of the minor Repub candidates named Howard who was on the ballot to demand one. The petition for recount had to be filed by a candidate by Friday, which it was.
The Diebold machines are too easy to change then cover the changes tracks. This recount is likely to end up validating the fraudulent count, as per Nader's recount in 2004.
