The trouble is that the Israelis are not serious about "their" country. They are preparing for war, but they very well know that there is no country which is a real threat to Israel. In other words, they are preparing for the consequences of a war started by Israel (like all other wars it has been part of).

Now a comment suggests that other countries have to take in the Israeli "victims" of a war started by their own aggression. That is a very bad idea.

The only way that the Israelis will learn to live in peace with their neighbours is by telling them that if they bring such a situation upon themselves they will not be let in anywhere!
