Congress, using disinfo from MEMRI, set to cut Egypt's aid
Egyptian Counterterrorism and Political Reform Act (Introduced in House)
HR 2977 IH 110th CONGRESS
1st Session H. R. 2977
To prohibit United States military assistance for Egypt and to express the sense of Congress that the amount of military assistance that would have been provided for Egypt for a fiscal year should be provided in the form of economic support fund assistance.
IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES July 10, 2007
Mr. WEINER introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Foreign Affairs
(Weiner? Yeah, i bet he's a disinterested 3rd party in this affair.)
A BILL
To prohibit United States military assistance for Egypt and to express the sense of Congress that the amount of military assistance that would have been provided for Egypt for a fiscal year should be provided in the form of economic support fund assistance.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the `Egyptian Counterterrorism and Political Reform Act'.
SEC. 2. FINDINGS.
Congress finds the following:
(1) According to the Middle East Media Research Institute, two weeks before the September 11, 2001, attacks, the Egyptian Government daily newspaper Al-Akhbar published a column that stated: `The Statue of Liberty, in New York Harbor, must be destroyed because of following the idiotic American policy that goes from disgrace to disgrace in the swamp of bias and blind fanaticism.'
(I wouldn't trust MEMRI to tell me the correct time of day, let alone any translation in Arabic. But people with the last name of Weiner just love this stuff.)
(2) Since forging a `cold peace' with Israel in 1978, the Government of Egypt has placed severe trade restrictions on Israeli goods and Egyptian Government officials have allowed anti-Semitic articles and cartoons to flood the semi-official Egyptian press.
(Translation: Anything Egypt says or even thinks that Israel doesn't like is branded "Anti-Semitic.")
(3) In violation of the 1979 peace agreement between Egypt and Israel, Egypt continues to promote a boycott of Israeli products.
(Uhh, Weiner ol' boy, if you would use actual news sources, instead of the MOSSAD asset MEMRI, you'd find articles like this:
Until this year, three Israeli firms sold textiles to the British chain, Marks and Spencer (M&S). They were Solog, Delta-Galil and Polgat. In late 1999, M&S informed Solog that its products were too expensive; starting in the year 2000 it would cease to buy them. Since Solog sold half of its products to M &S, the decision was a mortal blow.
Delta-Galil also makes half its sales to M &S; they amounted to $180 million last year. In contrast with Solog, however, M&S intends to increase its purchases from Delta by 20%. As for Polgat, it sells two-thirds of its product to the British chain for an annual return of $108 million. Here too M&S will continue to buy. What then makes Delta and Polgat so different from Solog?
Geography. Solog has remained entirely in Israel. Delta and Polgat have relocated their labor-intensive sections to Jordan and Egypt.
Egypt isn't boycotting Israeli goods, they just can't afford to buy the damn stuff. But the Israelis like using cheap Egyptian labor)

(4) The Israeli Defense Forces have repeatedly found arms smuggling tunnels between Egypt and the Gaza Strip. More than 40 tunnels were discovered in 2003. Some of these tunnels originate in Egyptian army and police outposts.
(What about the arms smuggling pipeline that goes from Washington, DC to Haifa? Which is then deliverred personally by elements of the Zionist Occupation Force upon the Palestinians, Lebanese and Syrians)
(5) Despite facing no major regional external threat, Egypt has used military assistance from the United States to purchase combat aircraft, advanced missile systems, tanks, and naval vessels that undermine Israel's security.
(No regional threat? What a load of hogwash. Israel has been lusting after Egypt's Sinai oil fields ever since Israel had to give back what they stole in 1967.)
(6) The Coptic Christian minority of between 6 and 10 million in Egypt is victimized regularly, and remains without protection. The Government of Egypt has never taken responsibility for the arrest and torture of more than 1,200 Copts in late 1998 in the wake of sectarian violence.
(7) Egypt regularly tortures its citizens. According to the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights approximately 13,000 to 16,000 people are detained without charge on suspicion of security or political offenses in Egypt each year. Amnesty International published a report in 2003 stating that `everyone taken into detention in Egypt is at risk of torture'.
(But we won't mention the thousands and thousands of Palestinians sitting in Israel's jails, denied bail, denied the basics of life and/or tortured. Noooo, we won't go there."

You can damn well bet that Zionist shills in the US Congress will be trying mightily to get some kind of punative set of bills passed that punishes Egypt for letting the Gazans come in and buy the food, meds and other supplies needed that have been stopped due to the Israeli blockade.
And more bills passed to try and blackmail Egypt into taking the Gazans into the Sinai.

Frankly the Muslim world will be better off not taking any money from anyone. All the so called Aid is going into the pockets of corrupt leaders, military and Secret services, who are in effect acting as wardens for the Zionists to keep the Muslims from realising their dreams of freedom and prosperity.
Mubarak and Musharraf, two of the biggest recipients of Zionist money have turned their countries into prisons.
let them keep their "AIDS"
Egyptians don't need it.
