Don't give up - Ron Paul campaign continue to fight on after Super Tuesday loss
"A little patience, and we shall see the reign of witches pass over, their spells dissolve, and the people, recovering their true sight, restore their government to its true principles. It is true that in the meantime we are suffering deeply in spirit, and incurring the horrors of a war and long oppressions of enormous public debt... If the game runs sometime against us at home, we must have patience till luck turns, and then we shall have an opportunity of winning back the principles we have lost, for this is a game where principles are at stake."
Thomas Jefferson
Ron Paul: Has the Republican Party lost its way? (9 min)
UPDATE Don't give up on Ron Paul (4 min)
Now that Mitt Romney have dropped out (much to my surprise, because he won the state where I live last Tuesday, and I sympathize with the dismayed mood of Romney supporters), there are three men in the arena fighting for Republican nomination.
It really come down to the delegates and their swing decision in vote at Republican National Convention this September, regardless of their pledges. There have not been a brokered convention in decades (Republican and Democratic), so there is a golden opportunity to pull an upset like Giants won Super Bowl XLII by overcoming the defense obstacle to toss the ball long-distance to the running back to catch with precision twice in the last minute -- which was astoundingly unprecedented that handed the "Golden Team" the humiliating defeat thought to be a sure-bet (even the gamblers bet large sum on the golden egg) to attain the "perfect season" record for the second time.
I've noticed on DailyPaul there are dejected supporters being vocal about abandoning the campaign and returning to the life of political apathy after the sound of a thud of Ron Paul campaign that took a severe beating on Super Tuesday, with fourth place placement in the several states. Somehow Rudy Giuliani earned six more percent over Paul in California, despite the reports of shenanigans in vote fraud and denial of rights perpetrated through corrupted change of affiliation to prevent voters from being listed as Republican intending to vote for Paul or another.
Although I admit to feeling upset and dejected, calling American people who voted for the Establishment preferred choices being influenced by mass media stupid who brought to themselves the consequent destruction of the sovereign state and their lives, there is a fleeting hope that Paul will beat the enormous odds against John McCain and Mike Huckabee to secure the GOP nomination.
Ron Paul has 14 delegates (edit for correction: it is now 42) at the time of this post. McCain leads the GOP race with 720, with Mike Huckabee a close behind at 197 after Mitt Romney drops out after the gain of 279.
There is a remote possibility Paul will win the nomination at RNC. Paul better brush up his debating skill and zoom in on the rivals' weak spots to exploit to expose their true colors.
Paul should point out McCain is a hot-headed war hawk who supports massive amnesty for illegal immigrants and gun control (according to Gun Owners of America's evaluation, like NY Sen. Hillary Clinton and IL Sen. Barack Obama, AZ-Sen. John gets an F- as the philosophical opponent of inherited gun rights accorded by Second Amendment) and refuse to admit that he is clueless how to manage the national economy and annual fiscal budget more complex than balancing the personal checkbook. This man is basically GW Bush on steroids, who has called for 100-year occupation of Iraq and more wars, meaning World War III if Bush-Cheney administration hadn't started and left White House for a new inauguration on schedule. There's a reason why Senator McCain is correctly derided as "insane", with the nickname "John McInsane"
Mike Huckabee fare no better as a Christian fundamentalist who believe that the Constitution should be amended to adjust to the current times reflecting stringent Christian values in Huckabee's view. I kid you not. Mike stole the platform ideas in abolishing the IRS from Paul, which indicate Mike is willing to make wild promises that he knows will never be fulfilled once elected. He is a polished liar who exhibit certain hypocrisy in a ploy to bait votes in the red states, especially the South. In other words, he's a Christofascist hell-bent on fighting "Islamofascism", even if it means provoking Iran to start the war and using the nuclear weapons for cheap victories.
McCain and Huckabee are Neoconservative lunatics that will most likely carry out the even more disastrously catastrophic "third Bush term", and America will never be safe if either ever occupy the Oval Office as President elect. And why would American voters pick John McCain who happen to be a repugnant traitor willing to sacrifice American soldiers' lives for petty political objectives, like he has done with USS Liberty cover-up defending Israel as an ally.
Not to mention the fact McCain and Huckabee are Israel-firsters, who would not hesitate to sacrifice the expendable lives of the US Military at the altar of Zionism to appease the blood-thirsty beast of Israel in defense and security. This is high treason and utterly reprehensible.
While Paul face an overwhelming odd, there is an exception to the rule that the corporate media ignore. The media love to declare whoever gain the lead in large number of votes is automatically presumed to win the nomination. This is an absurd assumption, until Republican National Convention commence on September 1 to 4 this fall.
The history of nominating process that defied the conventional wisdom of "winner takes all" mentality point to Abraham Lincoln.
Mr. Lincoln gained only 22 delegates and he won the nomination. Why? Because he had passionate supporters who used strategic tactics to persuade enough people to cast votes for Lincoln from the second ranking in the first round of balloting to first place in second round and finally clinch the nomination the third time. Of course, it's not without dirty tricks, but what to expect the typical intense political process in a democratic republican country?
I know Republican National Convention honchos and leading players have the disdain towards Ron Paul, a true conservative, which exemplify the depraved state of mind in war-mongering, anti-democratic and fiscally regressive (in disastrous economic policy ignoring danger of crash & hyperinflation and defrauding taxpayers of trillions to fund the unwinnable wars) Neoconservative manifesto masquerading as conservative. This is why Doctor Paul have the uphill battle to fight FOR THE PEOPLE, starting with subduing the corrupt influence of the Elite and make Paul's plan to restore America completely feasible without obstacles thrown up left and right by the hostile oligarch-fascist forces.
I regret to say that Mike Gravel's campaign in the quest for nomination at Democratic National Convention is officially dead in the water, with nary a chance of gaining a single delegate. At least he resisted the onslaught of mocking derision and media blackout to press ahead with the sparsely funded campaign like Don Quixote. He will be fondly remembered for his steel-willed courage to tell the truth that embarrass the media-favored rivals.
Do not allow the corporate interests to decide the election, which if they still wield influence it would be properly called a corpocracy. "You Decide" slogan is a bold-faced lie under the controlling mainstream media. The 2008 election might well be the last to see a truly revolutionary change for the better America and the world, yet the uninformed voting majority may end up wrecking the nation -- because they have been so thoroughly dumbed down by the mainstream media that they will keep electing "war and economic destruction" candidates until the American dream morph into a terrible global nightmare that will decapitate the pillars of reason and liberty to pave the road for subservience to foreign power hegemony, perpetual war and annihilating tyranny.
