Hezbollah Threatens to Retaliate for Open War!

By SAM F. GHATTAS, Associated Press Writer

BEIRUT, Lebanon - The chief of Hezbollah vowed Thursday to retaliate against Israeli targets anywhere in the world after accusing the Jewish state of killing the militant Imad Mughniyeh in Syria.

Israel ordered its military, embassies and Jewish institutions overseas to go on alert Thursday, fearing revenge attacks for a car bomb that killed Mughniyeh — accused of masterminding dramatic attacks that killed hundreds of Americans in Lebanon in the 1980s.

Hezbollah and its Iranian backers blamed Israel but Israel denied involvement.

In a videotaped eulogy broadcast on a giant screen to thousands attending the south Beirut funeral for Mughniyeh, Nasrallah said Israel had taken the fight outside the "natural battlefield" of Israel and Lebanon.

"You have crossed the borders," he said. "With this murder, its timing, location and method — Zionists, if you want this kind of open war, let the whole world listen: Let this war be open."

It's definitely the work of the Mossad, again.

Apparently Israel is anxious for a second (third, if you count 1982 war) chance to attack Lebanon with sheer brutality in striking fear and terror into Lebanese population.

I think Iran and Syria will not stand idly by as Israel ramp up the mass scale attack on Lebanon by claiming that Hezbollah must be rooted out for exaggerated retaliatory rocket attacks and fake kidnappings.

Israel is a bloody rogue state that will see doom in the future...but it will not disappear without taking the world down with that shitty little country in the deployment of Samson's Option (nuclear hell bomb in unraveling global armageddon).

Hezbollah was created in response to Israel's bestial war on Lebanon in 1982. Hezbollah defends Lebanon from Israeli terrorism.

Israel plant the seeds in the soil to sprout more terrorists hell-bent on destroying the illegitimate and murderously expansive Zionist regime. Israel see the benefit in creating more groups labeled "terrorist" to attack as it attempts to expand in land grab and demonstrate military might.

Former CIA Official: Mossad Behind Moghniyeh Killing

Mohamad Shmaysani

Tens of thousands are flock into Beirut's southern suburb to take part in the funeral of Hezbollah commander martyr Imad Moghniyeh. They will take part in prayers and will then hear attentively to Hezbollah's position as it will be announced by the party's Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah.
"Let us make our voice heard by all the enemies and murderers that we will be victorious, no matter the sacrifices," said Hezbollah's statement that called for participation in the funeral.
Hezbollah and Iran, have accused Israel of Moghniyeh's assassination. Israel denied any involvement, but officials made no effort to conceal their approval of his death. The United States welcomed it.

FORMER CIA OFFICIAL: MOSSAD BEHIND MOGHNIYEH KILLING
"Evidence in Damascus car bombing points to Israel," says Bruce Riedel, former advisor to three US presidents on Middle Eastern affairs. Riedel, who spent over 30 years with the CIA before serving as a senior advisor on South Asian and Middle East affairs under three US presidents, said Israel has already carried out similar operations in Syria. Riedel is currently a senior fellow with the Saban Center for Middle East Policy at the Brookings Institute. He said that Sayyed Nasrallah is also in the crosshairs; something the Israelis never stop saying.

Martyr Moghniyeh's body was laid in a refrigerated coffin, wrapped in Hezbollah's flag. His father - Fayez, a south Lebanese farmer - as well as Hezbollah's deputy leader, Sheikh Naim Kassem, and other Hezbollah officials received condolences inside a hall from allied Lebanese politicians and representatives of Palestinian factions.

HEZBOLLAH RETALIATION, MATTER OF HOW AND WHEN
Whoever carried out the operation demonstrated very impressive capabilities, in particular in collecting intelligence, Haaretz's Yossi Melman said in his analysis about the assassination of the Islamic Resistance's commander Imad Moghniyeh.
"For many years he was in the sights of Israeli intelligence and the CIA, as well as other Western intelligence agencies such as Britain's, but because Moghniyeh knew all this, he was doubly cautious," Melman added. He drew two opposite conclusions: one is that the killing was a message to Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah that created shock and awe in Hezbollah and the second conclusion is that in the long run Hezbollah will clearly recover from the killing and return to functioning normally. "The big and more important question arising from the killing in Damascus is not whether Hezbollah will respond, but how and when," Melman asked. He further analyzed the response saying it will not necessarily come immediately in a reflex action.
"Their response will also not be along the border, because it seems they have no evidence to tie Israel directly to the killing. We can also estimate that they will not attempt a mass terror attack in Israel. The more reasonable and likeliest possibility is that Hezbollah, with Iranian approval, will try to make a revenge attack against Israel overseas, in particular against an embassy. In this case it seems they will look for areas that are Israel's "soft underbelly" such as the Israeli Embassy in Jordan, Egypt or certain African capitals - where it will be easier for them to act surreptitiously," Melman analyzed.

Israel's security services have meanwhile issued orders to its embassies and delegations abroad to be on high alert, anticipating the possibility that Hezbollah will retaliate.

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah on Imad Moghniyeh blood

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah warned Israel that if it wanted an open war with Hezbollah outside Lebanon, "then let it be war."
Sayyed Nasrallah was speaking at the funeral of Islamic Resistance commander martyr Imad Moghniyeh in Beirut's southern suburb.

"Of the believers are men who are true to the covenant which they made with Allah: so of them is he who accomplished his vow, and of them is he who yet waits, and they have not changed in the least, Almighty Allah has spoken the truth. Hajj Radwan was true to the covenant and died a martyr," Sayyed Nasrallah said.

The Hezbollah chief stressed a few points regarding Hajj Imad Moghniyeh's martyrdom.
"They (Israel) see in his martyrdom a great accomplishment and we see in it a good sign for the coming victory. This was the case with the martyrdom of our leaders Sheikh Ragheb Harb and Sayyed Abbas Moussawi."

Sayyed Nasrallah added that when Sheikh Harb was martyred the resistance got stronger and forced Israeli occupation forces into the security zone.

"When Sayyed Moussawi was martyred the resistance grew stronger and a few years later the Israelis withdrew from most of Lebanon, humiliated and broken. Today they killed Hajj Imad and they think that killing him would cause the resistance to crash down in the course of the July 2006 war that is not over yet on the political, media and material levels and still backed by the same people. But they are mistaken. With the blood of martyr Imad we must begin to write the history of fall of Israel in the very near future. The blood of martyrs Harb and Moussawi drove them out of Lebanon and the blood of martyr Imad Moghniyeh will drive them out of existence," his eminence stressed.

Sayyed Nasrallah explained that his speech was not based on emotions but on what the founder of the Jewish state, Ben Gorion, said. "You all know that the founder of Israel, Ben Gorion, who knows better than any other Israeli the strength and weakness of this entity, said that the Israel will fall down after the first defeat. Israel fought its war in July 2006 and was defeated as acknowledged by the Winograd commission. Israel lost its first war, why? Simply because its army faced a sincere and brave resistance for 33 days…Because Imad Moghniyeh, his brothers and his pupils were fighting them. Israel lost its first war and will fall down soon." the Hezbollah chief said.

Sayyed Nasrallah warned Israel that it committed an extremely "foolish" move by killing Moghniyeh. "I tell the Israelis, and the body of martyr Imad is still lying before us, Hezbollah is not weak. The martyr's brothers will take over his Jihad. The blood of martyr Imad only makes us stronger and gives us additional motive to continue the road with a wider perspective. What I promised you in the past was fulfilled at the hands of martyr Imad and his brothers.
Today the resistance is fully prepared to confront any possible Israeli war. Yesterday I was speaking about rockets but today I will speak about fighters. Winograd said that a few thousand fighters confronted the strongest Israeli army in the region for several weeks. After Hajj Imad's martyrdom, what will be waiting for you in any coming war will be a stronger Hezbollah. Hajj Imad has left you tens of thousands of very well trained fighters who are more than ready for martyrdom," his eminence warned Israel.

The Hezbollah leader also warned Israel of the repercussions of assassinating martyr Imad Moghniyeh outside "the normal battleground."
"You have killed Hajj Imad outside the normal battleground. You used to fight us here on our land. Today you went outside the border. I will quote something from the July 2006 war when I addressed you saying that If you wanted it to be an open war then let it be an open war, and I had promised victory to the believers. Today I tell you that in front of the time, style and location of this killing, if you want this kind of open war, then let it be an open war of this kind," Sayyed Nasrallah stressed.

His eminence also remembered the February 14 commemoration of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri's assassination.
"On the 14th of February, the commemoration of martyr Hariri, we were hoping that this occasion would join the Lebanese, however some wanted this turn this occasion into a party of curses. In such event, I will not respond, I only underline that the Lebanon that we gave our dear leaders will never be Israeli and will never be divided. He (MP Walid Jumblatt) who wants divorce (between the loyalty and the opposition) can go to his masters in Washington and Tel Aviv. Lebanon will remain united and in spite of some dwarfs, Lebanon will continue to be a country for resistance. In spite of those who call on armies to fight their war against the resistance, Lebanon will continue to be a country for unity, honor and sovereignty. This is why this country deserves martyrs like Shiekh Harb, Sayyed Abbas and Hajj Imad," Sayyed Nasrallah said.

Addressing the family of martyr "Radwan", his eminence said:
"I want to bless you and to console you and to tell you – Allah blessed you and your family. If only the whole world knew that this jihadist house sacrificed its sons – three martyrs. Everything you have Abu Imad (Mugniyah's father) – your three sons, you sacrificed to martyrdom. One after the other. This family was extraordinary in jihad and martyrdom. To his wife I say, and to his comrades-in-arms, all of his relatives and fans in Lebanon, Palestine and any other place: I want to console you on this loss of a cherished commander."

Lebanon Bids Resistance Leader Moghniyeh Farewell

Batoul Wehbe

Indeed, the procession of martyrs never stopped, as it’s not meant to stop before complete victory. Once again, a great leader's martyrdom had given the resistance movement momentum. Lebanon's Hezbollah held a mass funeral for its martyred commander Imad Moghniyeh in Beirut on Thursday.

Huge crowds gathered in Beirut's southern suburb at Sayyed Shohada'a Complex to bid Moghniyeh farewell, a top Hezbollah Military leader. The ceremony started with reading verses of Holy Quran, and then Imam Mahdi scouts played the Lebanese and Hezbollah anthems and death melody.

Iranian leaders mourned the assassination of Hezbollah commander Imad Moghniyeh, describing him as a "great man" and accusing Israel of being behind his assassination. Supreme leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad both sent personal messages of condolence to Hezbollah's Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

"The occupiers of Qods (Jerusalem)... have lost the reason for their existence and such crimes can only shorten their filth-filled and corrupt lives," Ahmadinejad said in the letter read by Iranian Foreign Minister Manoushehr Mottaki in the funeral. "Moghniyeh was neither the first nor the last martyr to defend the dignity of the nations, but his death has cast more shame on the Zionists and their supporters," Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wrote in the letter.

"The occupiers of Jerusalem must know that these crimes will not compensate for their humiliating defeat during their invasion of Lebanon," he added. "Despite the fact that the Lebanese nation has lost a great commander – there are hundreds of thousands, even millions more Hajj Radwans who possess the same courage and resolve to join the struggle against the occupiers, the terrorists and the uncultured."

"Moghniyeh is a source of pride to all believers; he fought the occupiers and supported the right of self-determination," Mottaki said during the memorial service.

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah addressed the crowd at the funeral via a video link and stressed Moghniye's blood would soon serve in the fall of the Jewish state. Following Sayyed Nasrallah's firm speech, his deputy Sheikh Naim Kassem led prayers on the martyr's body.

After prayers, Moghniyeh's casket was carried by a group of his brothers-in-arms and followed by a huge procession to the Rawdat Shahedein cemetery in Beirut's southern suburb where the martyr was laid in his final resting place.

Hariri Commemoration Marked with Insulting Opposition

Assailing fellow citizens of the National Opposition, showing their various talents in undermining others, launching accusations from here and there: this is how the ruling bloc in Lebanon commemorated the third anniversary of the assassination of Former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri; an occasion that the opposition had hoped would serve in uniting their country. Three years have passed since Hariri was killed in a big blast that occurred at Beirut. Three years were enough to shift the sad occasion to a joyful festival where February 14 key figures compete in launching strained positions and their followers distributing sweets; a gesture that expresses happiness. So, and for the third consecutive year, the February 14 bloc organized a gathering for the occasion in the northern half of the Martyr's Square in down town Beirut. According to AFP, there were a million people there; giving the opposition the right to claim it was able to gather more that 2 million people in the Martyrs' entire Square and the nearby Riyad el-Soloh Square as well in 2006.

Most of the speakers did not take into consideration that the other half of Lebanon was mourning a great resistance leader who was assassinated in Damascus by the Israeli Mossad.
The head of the 'Future' movement MP Saad Hariri was the only one who distinguished himself from other February 14 speakers and tried to raise the issue. "The trend to build the state and the institutions as well as the regime and democracy is the goal of all those who have gathered here and in Beirut's southern suburb to mourn a resistance martyr who fell yesterday under the eyes of the regime in Damascus", he said and the crowds started booing.

Hariri invited the opposition to "sit with the majority in a national-unity government committed to the spirit of the Taif agreement" and stressed that he "will always call for dialogue". "We are still insisting on the election of Army Commander General Michel Sleiman as president to begin a new phase of cooperation and dialogue", he added stressing that "there is no value to the Arab Summit if a Lebanese president was not elected".

The somewhat moderate speech of Hariri was not echoed in other speeches. The head of the Democratic Gathering MP Walid Jumblatt described abandoning the premiership and giving the opposition the right of a guaranteeing one third of ministers in a new government as "betrayal". Of course Jumblatt did not forget to accuse Syria of assassinating resistance top commander Imad Moghniyye saying that "the regime of betrayal has started snapping at its allies" and claimed the government will not succumb to opposition efforts to "hand over Lebanon to the Iranian-Syrian black evil world."

For his part, Former President Amine Gemayel pledged to "liberate downtown Beirut and return the Lebanese capital to its people". "We will not accept a system other than our democratic system, and we will not accept the imposition of a culture of death, suffering and destruction", he said in an indication to Hezbollah and the opposition in general.

As for Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea, he directly addressed the opposition announcing that "he'll not accept depriving the country of a president" and that he'll not give anyone the chance to "paralyze the government after crippling the parliament" saying "No to your tents and threats," addressing the opposition open sit-in in the southern half of the Martyrs' Square.
"Do not fear them, no matter what they try to do; life is stronger than obstruction", he told his supporters.

Iran Offers Condolences to Hezbollah

Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei sent his condolences to Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah on Thursday over the assassination of one of the militant group's top commanders, who he hailed as a "great man". "Dear brother... I congratulate and offer my condolences on this great martyrdom to you, his family, the Hezbollah youth and all Lebanese," Khamenei said in the message to Nasrallah after the martyrdom of Imad Mughnieh.

"It should make the Lebanese people proud to have given the world such great men in the fields of seeking freedom and fighting cruelty," he added in the message read on state television. "Those men (referring to the martyrs) are of high quality in which the whole nation should bow before", his eminence said.

"The bloodthirsty Zionist criminals should know that the pure blood of martyrs like Mughnieh will create hundreds more like Mughnieh," said Sayyed Khamenei. "It will increase resistance against corruption and atrocities twofold," his eminence added.

Lebanon Papers Mourn Martyr Moghniyeh

Hanan Awarekeh

It is Thursday 14th of February 2008; the Lebanese people will definitely remember this date as a very tragic one. They have lost a great resistance leader. How did the Local papers deal with the grave terror attack that took the life of Imad Moghniyeh on Tuesday? Not all, but most Lebanese newspapers put the news in their headlines next to former Prime Minister martyr Rafik Hariri’s annual commemoration.

AL-AKHBAR DAILY
‘Hajj Radwan’, ‘the ghost’, ‘the mystery’, ‘the fox’,...etc; these names may ring a bell in the people’s heads more than ‘Imad Moghniyeh’. Journalist Ibrahim Al-Amine said in his Al-Akhbar Daily that Hajj Imad Moghniyeh was a figure that couldn’t get out to public but as a martyr. Al-Amine said that "The elimination (of Imad Moghniyeh) is a painful blow, and the toughest blow, to Hezbollah”, it is the hardest in Hezbollah’s history. He continued that “this Israeli masterstroke seems to be very professional” and he highlighted the martyr’s fundamental role in confronting the 2006 Israeli aggression against Lebanon. “Hence, the secret has been revealed. The (magician) came out from behind his curtain. He went on a road he’d known since he was a child. But he left behind a heavy burden on the shoulders of a comrade of his named, Hasan Nasrallah,” Al-Amine said.

ASSAFIR DAILY
For its part, Assafir daily said in its Thursday edition that “Imad Moghniyeh, the orchestrator of legendary heroic operations, martyred”, adding that Hezbollah has been hit with a serious and severe stroke. The daily also said that Damascus was conducting a thorough investigation into what it called the “the security breech.”

“Moghniyeh was killed with a small bomb, but definitely an oriented one, in a clod Damascus night, without companions to gather his remains or friends to inform his party about his death,” the daily said. “Moghniyeh went out to public for the first time as a martyr, giving his name and some of his achievements stature; achievements that only his party will or will not reveal their details.”

On the other hand, some pro-February 14 papers said that the bloodshed should prompt the Lebanese people to “close ranks” between the Lebanese national opposition supporters and the ruling bloc’s who are gathering in the Martyrs’ Square, downtown Beirut, to commemorate the third anniversary of former Prime Minister Martyr Rafiq Hariri.
