U.S. soldier in ROK investigated for raping local girl

SEOUL, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- A wstationed in South Korea is under investigation on allegations that he sexually assaulted a 19-year-old local girl, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported on Thursday.
The U.S. soldier, who was identified as a private first class, was alleged to rape a 19-year-old South Korean girl in Seoul on Wednesday after meeting her through an Internet site.
Spokesman for the U.S. Force Korea (USFK) Kim Young-kyu told Yonhap that the USFK is cooperating fully with South Korean authorities in the investigation of the incident.
About 28,000 U.S. troops are stationed in South Korea.
In November last year, six U.S. soldiers were arrested by local police after beating South Korean female in a restaurant in South Korea's Daegoo city.
In January last year, a U.S. soldier was arrested by local police after raping a 67-year-old South Korean woman in Seoul.
